The curry tofu with plantains I think is still my favorite dish in Gainesville. 100% nicer atmosphere than when they opened, but they're still slow for lunch. I don't get to go here often enough!

It was quite a while before I gave the place a second try (the jerk tofu nearly killed me) but I'm so glad I did. The curry tofu dish is one of the finest meals in town. They only lost a star for taking almost an hour to get my take-out order ready (after the guy assured me it'd be ready right away I rushed over there to wait 45 more min). The svc at lunch was a lot quicker.

Close to my work, and serving good breakfast dishes until 7...I'm here a lot. Lately I've been enjoying the noodles menu (the lemongrass chicken and pad thai are both fantastic), but the standard rarely disappoints:  scrambled egg, bagel & hash browns with red onions...

Weekend mornings can be a mad house, but most other times it's a great place for a casual lunch and their staff is super friendly. Loses star because they're occasionally understaffed when busy and their A/C can be underpowered.

I don't understand all the backlash against the atmosphere/wait times; the place is constantly packed for a reason. They could probably open another place next door and it'd be packed, too. Whatever the wait, it's worth it for a deep dish pizza to die for with the freshest topings you could ask for (many grown on site). On an off night the salad is just great, occasionally it's the main attraction.

Yeah yeah, best pizza and by far the tastiest salad (it will spoil you) and an amazing space where you run into friends from all over town..That's why you must high-tail it over there Right After Work or be prepared to be there most of the evening (not that it's a bad place to spend an evening w/ friends). I miss the days when you could usually wait inside, but word /had/ to get out. Maybe I'm just sad the van is always taken :( Still, if you can get out there midday, a slice and a side salad is a heavenly lunch, and garlic lovers will be pleased (my dad was a little overwhelmed!)

A great New York style slice, a little greasy but tasty. If you remember Brick Oven fondly, it's got a similar taste.

Generally quick, but, being served out a window on a busy sidewalk, there's not a lot of room to stand and wait or eat.

I think their pepperoni and onion pie is consistently awesome and always delivered fast. Crust is soft and chewy and microwaves perfectly the next day.

I generally steer clear of most other toppings there though. I've had a pretty bad veggie pie. They never seem to have good specials for smaller pies, so it's kinda pricey for above avg delivered pizza.

One of the best new Gainesville restaurants and hard to classify. They have the core Steamers sandwich and rice plates, but also more mixes of Asian, Indian and American flavors. Everything is tasty and reasonably priced, some of the specials are amazing and could easily feed two. Like Steamers, you order and pay at the counter, but they bring the meal to you. Fancy!

Dislikes: they pipe in top 40 alternative and the menu can be vague, making ordering awkward if there's a line.

Like many regulars, I was sad to see Bageland close this location. When Kathleen and I could get over there before work we called it "living the dream"...and now it's a Sweet Dreams ice cream shop :)

OK +3 for taste, -2 for will certainly help kill you and overall crap  experience. Can you call a meal a different name when it's handed out a window? You can!

I just had a simple media noche sandwich..ham and cheese on the most amazing sweet bread ever. Awesome and I think under $5. Maybe it was more satisfying because it was an excuse to take abreak from helping a friend move.
