I have been here at Northpointe for a couple of weeks now and wish to post my first impressions. First off Northpointe is clean and odor free. The wonderful housekeeping staff especially Suvjitraj who cleans my room does an excellent job of keeping my room super clean. They really do an great job. Next the food is ok not the best basically standard hospital food. I will say I have a problem with the breakfast as it's pretty lite and the eggs are the worst.The eggs taste like powdered eggs and are always scrambled. Otherwise no other problems with the food. I'm here because of a wound from flesh eating bacteria that requires a wound VAC. Nancy is a nurse in charge of this treatment and is very very good at it. The problem with this is she is the only one at Northpointe Really trained to do the treatment and is only available during the day. So problems arise with the wound VAC during theon weekends we have just have to wait until Nancy comes in. I do wanna mention Ray Who is a wonderful assistant to Nancy and a great physical therapist. The nursing staff is very caring and hard-working. I will say the nurses and nursing assistances are overworked having to care for over 20 patients on their shift. This can mean delays In the responses to the call button. Which is one reason this is not a five star review. So overall this is not a fancy resort type facility but it is a very good place to heal up.
Been home a couple of days and a heads up to anyone using a wound VAC make sure you leave Northpointe with a a wound Vac. Northpoint told me that the at home nurse with provide a wound VAC and of course the at home nurse didn't have one and say they never provide one. Northpointe was supposed to provide one when I Discharged. Now I have to wait over the weekend to get one. Not good.
