A bunch of Kulture's employees from Richmond came up to Charlottesville for a night on the town. We decided on Aqui es Mexico because of their reviews on Yelp. We were not disappointed. Definitely one of the best Mexican restaurants in Virginia! The food was authentic, the ingredients were fresh and the service was friendly. No problems with small portions either, Richmonders, we are experts on recognizing small servings! The servings were plentiful and there were plenty of leftovers.
Kulture was at the convention center. Since we were in the area, we had to stop by Croaker's Spot. This place is official! Grab a Po-Boy or a fish platter, you won't be disappointed. The lime-ade is the real deal, fresh, tasty and refreshing. Make sure you try the hot potato salad too, it's on another level!
This place is right around the corner from Kulture in Shockoe Bottom. It's a small place, yet they fit a fire engine inside! You've got to see it, the pump controls are beer taps! At first glance the menu might look like typical bar food. Once you taste it, you'll realize there is some magic going on in that tiny kitchen! The BBQ is our top choice, and by far one of the best in area. Get the platter and you'll be treated to baked beans, and cornbread that are like no other.
We have a feel that Alamo is soon to be famous! This is Kulture's new favorite lunch spot. Solid BBQ and sides. Try the brisket which is the shining star here. The pulled pork stands up firmly to the competition as well. The jalapeño mac and cheese & the banana pudding are musts too!
If you own or are opening a retail store, this is your source for new and used fixtures, shelving, grid wall, displays and showcases. They have just about everything you could ever need. Friendly and helpful staff too! We have used them to open three locations.
This is our favorite place to go for vegetarian food. Just about all of it is vegan too. The freshness, quality and taste can't be beat! Try the Azifa and the Shiro Wat, they're amazing. Stop by Ellwood Thompson's to sample food from The Nile, which is on their hot bar most days.
