I've had 2 pedicures here. The staff is friendly and they take their time. They have awesome massage chairs. The place is clean, however I feel like I was duped the first time went there. I got there first thing in the morning and they opened a new pumice and toe separator. I was under the impression they open a new one for every customer. The 2nd time I went it was the end of the day and they used the same ones they used on everyone else. So my quest for a nail salon that follows the health dept standards continues. And if you don't know.... if it can't be sterilized they are supposed to use a new one for every customer! The massage was terrible both times. It's not even worth them doing it. All they do is spread the lotion around.
This is a breath of fresh air after the many years I've spent working out at 24 Hr fitness Bayfair. This place is clean, even the bathroom! They have spray bottles and paper towels everywhere so you can clean the equipment before use. The members for the most part all seem to use it too. Maybe it's the power of suggestion. The staff is friendly. There is a lot of cardio equipment, although I wish there were a few more of the big stair climbers (only 2!). Plenty of space so you don't feel like you're crammed in with everyone. Because of their dress code and their policies they seem to keep away the ex-cons, meat heads, and run of the mill thugs that congregate at the 24 Hr Fitness. The one thing I don't like is that the gym is in the basement of the mall and it's kinda dark in there, no natural light coming in. I travel an extra 10 min to go to this gym, but I don't mind. Planet Fitness has saved me from 24 Hr Bayfair.

I'd really like to give this store more than 3 stars but there are a few things that really bother me.
1. the flies swarming around the produce in the summertime
2. a lot of the fruit is bruised and moldy
3. the carts & hand baskets need a serious cleaning
4. it's not unusual to find something that's past it's expiration date
Here are the positives.....
1. location
2. nice selection of groceries
3. somewhat reasonable prices
4. free off street parking ( you may have to circle a few times)
5. good size store
This store has a lot of potential. I'm thinking they need to get a Quality Control person in there or something.

Fish tacos....mmmm not so good. I expect the fish in fish tacos to fried and this was more like fish stew on tortillas. I did like the guac, the roasted garlic plate, and the watermelon margarita. It's a fun amosphere, with a cool young vibe.
ambiance -- 5 stars
service -- 4.5 stars
food -- 4 stars
I had the shrimp & grits which was very tasty, although I prefer smoother grits. These grits are a bit coarse. I also had a side of collards. I wouldn't order these again because they are blanched or sauteed or something....targeting the general population I guess! The gouda mac n cheese was excellent. I had the key lime chess pie which was a bit too sweet for me. The service was top notch, except they only give you one piece of cornbread :(

The food is good, fresh, and consistent. Unfortunately the service was piss poor this past Sunday midday. They were busy, I get that but perhaps they should hire one more server to work Sundays. The woman was about to set my pancakes on the table when the syrup tipped over and spilled all over the table. She then proceeded to set the plate down in the syrup while she went to get a towel. When she came back with the towel she lifted my plate, which now had syrup on the bottom of it, and held it over my eggs while she cleaned up the syrup. So guess what happened!!!! You got it! Syrup in my eggs! My friend ordered the pastrami sandwich and asked for no mustard. Well of course it came with mustard. By the time she realized it we couldn't get the server's attention at all. After they brought the food, that was it for the service. After about 30 mins and 3 attempts to get someone's attention, I was finally able to get my water refilled and my friend was able to tell the waiter about the mustard. At this point she didn't bother to order anything else since it was taking so long. It's unfortunate about the service because I really do like the food!
I have no idea what everyone is raving about. I finally went to check this place out last night. It was typical Oakland riff raff, young girls wearing yeast infection-tight booty shorts, and hood rat lesbos. WTF is exciting about that? I blew my $5 on the cover charge just to use the restroom, took a tour of the place and then cut out. Not sure if I'll venture over here again. If they have happy hour I wouldn't mind checking that out because it is a cool venue. This is one of those places that won't last unless they do something about the busters hanging outside on the corner who don't have $5 to get in.
I think Yogofina is getting their yogurt from the exact same distributor as Nubi in San Leandro at Bayfair Mall. The yogurt is really good, lots of flavors and toppings to choose from, self-serve. My only complaint is that the place was kind of dirty and chairs were all over the place on the night I went in.

I am taking the beginner's class and I can tell that I'm improving after the 3rd class. I love that he reviews what we went over in the previous class everytime. The instructors are very helpful and patient. It is fun and I look forward to it every week. It's a great outlet for the stresses of the week.
Holy smokes! What a workout! I know I'm gonna be hurtin' tomorrow but I want to be able to bounce quarters off my ass like Kiki G.
I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because I watched a woman let her dog pee at the top of the stairs. Everytime I got to the top it smelled like urine. I'm guessing she's not the only one who does that. The city needs to powerwash frequently since there is no beating common sense into some people.
