The staff aren't salty at all... and that catches me off guard every time I see a show here.

Used to be the only place you could see a band and also get great customer service was at a bowling alley... or a rec center on the border between Arkansas and Oklahoma...

But now at The Griffin too I guess. Show owner comment »

There are two great luxuries in life that are often taken for granted:

1. Regular bowel movements
2. A comfortable mattress

And then there's the beautiful afternoon stroll arm in arm with a beautiful woman, taking in the fresh ocean breeze, laughing together... to the local liquor store.

That one's a bonus for sure... and that the Liquor Locker is there to punctuate these walks makes me happy.

Once upon a time, there were Italians in Little Italy. There were Portugese in Point Loma. And both were barren of anywhere good to go.

This era I speak of? From the dawn of time right up to last year.

Look at how far you've come Little Italy! And Point Loma, you too! Good job you two. Bravo.

Really enjoyed the few times up to Prepkitchen... love the high top community table thing. Also dig the coffee and scone bar for brunch. I prefer a strict adherence to booze whie I brunch, but for those who pound the coffee, I can see this as bringing favor.

Why I don't trust a male to make my coffee I don't know. Maybe because I'm old and crotchety. My whithering bones just don't like change. A man's got his place and it's not behind an espresso machine.

Just kidding!

Blake is the best thing that happened to my addiction to Triple Nonfat No Whip Mochas since Mad Cap opened back home.

Oh, and I've now revised my list of favorite San Diego coffee shops:

1. Bay Park... highest quality coffee from Blake!
1. Pappalecco, Little Italy... super hot eye candy inside and out!
1. Cuppa Cuppa... Shannon and Mel are snarky ladies!
1. The Bean Box... Brazillian booties, and "put it on my tab, I forgot to bring cash" actually works here!

All tied for first.

I usually only get great service from hipster looking tenders when I've grown out the beard and trimmed it down to the "Trucker". Even moreso when I walk in with my pant leg cuffed from not riding but wanting to look like I just got off my fixie.

But here, twice I've been received in great spirits... nice move!

Good to know I don't have to pretend to be smart, aloof and socialist to get a good drink in all of this town's new bars.

And the toasts, they're so toasty!

Getting blasted is what McFaddens does best. I've never left a McFadden's anywhere in the country unblasted. To leave unblasted is to have done yourself an unfavor.

If you weren't blasted, then you'd remember things like how ugly that girl was you EF'd, how expensive that round of shots were for her friends, and how the burger tastes like the salad and the salad tastes like the nachos and nachos taste like the chicken poppers.

Love this place...

I think it took me like a year and a half to come here cause it looks like a quick service chain restaurant. Like one of those newish ones. With the $20 burgers and the hot cashiers.

And the house music. And $10 chocolate cupcakes.

But I have to come back as past running through it for a drink or two while avoiding any kind of human contact or conversation, I really didn't give it a fair try, shake, or nod.

I remember everything up until those four gulp tequila shots. That's when the night gets blurry. I just wished this was London or the 60s. Or both.

Oh and I wished that Dimitri From Paris was DJing. Snap!

Again, sitting at the bar, great googley schmoogley... was this good.

Sarah's eyes roll deep in her head when we talk of the dinner here. I enjoyed it immensely... but I love that she loved it more. There's nothing better than making my girl happy, and N9NE did it exceedingly well.
