I missed the grand opening since I had work so I went today. When you walk in, the left side of the location seems to be a bazaar, and the right side is where the thrifting actually happens.
They have a TON of things, so much it's almost overwhelming. However, I looked through every single piece and I only walked out with two things. Maybe all of their good stuff got taken over the weekend? Who knows. I saw a lot of "vintage" old stuff and not too many new modern things.
Their pricing is a little bit more expensive than other thrift stores I've been to. It's also eerily quiet in there (radio music please?). I did notice the lights flickering as mentioned by another yelper, but I was too concentrated on buying clothes than being distracted by lighting.
They have a bunch of fitting rooms for ladies in the back corner (I didn't see any for guys).
But anyway, it's pretty obvious that this thrift store is trying to compete with Unique Thrift Store. They both have bazaars, and they're both extremely large. Unique Thrift Store has 25% off on Thursdays for card holders whereas B-Thrifty has 30% off on Thursdays for card holders, coincidence much?
I'll probably be back eventually (hopefully when they restock with better items), but until then I prefer Unique since it's closer to me, they have more sales, it's a bit cheaper, and I always find amazing things there.

Current CrushJOSEPH GORDON-LEVITT
My friend and I got the house garden roll (goi cuon), the "pho old down" (pho dac biet), and the grilled pork on rice (com thit nuong).
The goi cuon was good and came with a peanut sauce. On the inside is pork, shrimp, vermicelli noodles, bean sprouts, and lettuce.
The com thit nuong was also pretty good. The rice isn't crushed and the pork that it comes with is thin in comparison to the com tam at another restaurant that I'm used to. However, whether the rice is crushed or not didn't really make a difference to me. The pork is thin, so it's not very fatty. When most places have thin pork, it's generally overcooked, hard, and chewy. Not at East Wind, the pork was really tender, cooked well, and very flavorful. It came with fish sauce (nuoc mam) but it's not that strong and is a bit sweeter so it's great for anyone who can't stand super strong fish sauce.
I don't recommend getting pho from restaurants that don't specialize in pho (their broth isn't flavorful enough) and this is no exception. They don't give you the bottles of hoisin or sriracha sauce. Instead they give you this tiny platter and a small plate of vegetables. It was okay, but I wouldn't get it again (especially because I'm a creature of habit and have been getting my pho fixes at pho 75 since I was in my mom's belly).
Anyway this place is really nice (and surprisingly big). They have a decent beer selection and the staff is really nice!

This is a great Vietnamese place for GMU students to go for their hangover pho! (I've never been to Viet House so I can't compare.) Show owner comment »
