It's kind of hard to write a review for this place when a) I've only been once and b) I just want to echo what everyone else has said.

Cinnamon rolls? Phenomenal. A little gooey in the middle and nice and flakey on the outside.
Brioche was ok, but I could have used more of the chocolate that was supposed to be inside.
Got a ham and cheese croissant, and it was great. M loved it.

I'm sure I'll be back when I'm in the neighborhood!

M and I went to brunch here a couple of weeks ago, and I am so glad we did! I had the fried chicken and waffles, and I think I've been spoiled. I am not sure if I can ever eat another non-bacon waffle. With a little butter and maple syrup, HEAVEN! The fried chicken just might be the best fried chicken I've ever had. At 1:30pm, they were almost out! And when I asked about what might be in the batter, the waiter swore even he wasn't allowed to know. M had the Texas Benedict, and I think I liked it more than he did. We did think it was great, but I liked the biscuits more. They had a nice slight crunch.

Their coffee is great. Order the siphon, and you get a little show at your table. M got the Red Headed Stranger, which is like a bloody bacon mary with a chaser of Pearl (beer). Neither of cared for this cocktail. Bloody Mary's already have plenty going on, and maybe it was the bacon infused vodka, but there was definitely something a bit off.

My only beef with Frank (pun fully intended), is their website. It's not up to date, and there is no link to the brunch menu (http://hotdogscoldbeer... for the curious). The solution seems to be to follow them on Twitter.

I've had a couple of dogs, and they were fine, but they were also to go. I'm sure they would have been much better in store.

Love ya, Frank! See ya soon!

I really like this place for happy hour. They've got a great HH menu with lots of delicious items for about $5. Their calamari is a bit inconsistent, but everything else I've had has been great. The beer is wonderful, and the descriptions on the menus really point you in the right direction. I've never been disappointed with any beer I've had there.

M and I went for brunch, and ended up not having the brunch. I will say that I had a screwdriver, and the well vodka tasted horrible. We got the skillet cornbread, and while it was good, it was kinda soggy from all the "juice" on the plate; a little hard to share if you're not eating off the same plate. M enjoyed his burger, and my turkey sandwich was pretty good. Fries were definitely good!

Uncorked Tasting Room and Wine Bar

Met some Yelp ladies here for Women Who Wine and had a most excellent time. Thank you Keri B. and Uncorked!

Before I walked through the door, I had no idea what I was in for but this is what I got:

-comfort. Fluffy leather couches in our own room set up around a round, glass table.
-a dancing waiter that knew more than I could ever know about wines. This man must be part psychic, because you could give him 2-3 things you like about wines and he'd bring you the perfect glass. Palates are all different, but he seemed to be pretty spot on.

-delicious flights. 3- 2oz glasses of wine for $10-$14, with an explanation of each.

-delicious meat and cheeses. We combined a meat and cheese tray (Each $13) and feasted. I especially enjoyed the chorizo and prosciutto de parma.

-DRAMA and a staff that really takes care of its guests. It was taking a while for Keri B and I to get our checks, so when a different waiter came by to sort things out, we were a  little confused. Evidently, there was an altercation between a customer and our waiter that the EMS and 3 police cars had to take care of. Keri and I were stuck since the cop cars were blocking in our cars. Uncorked's response? "How about something sparkling?" This is the kind of "stuck" I can get used to! Everyone finally cleared out, and even though we missed our dinner reservations, it was a most excellent time. Management even slipped us a couple of coupons for the inconvenience!

Going into this place with my boyfriend, his mom, step-dad and brother made me a little nervous. I didn't know if I even liked French Food (though I do love French pastries!).

The first thing I noticed was that it was a bit loud, very crowded, and the average age was 60. Service seemed pretty slow that night, but I have no idea if it was just a fluke or what. Everything was pricey, and didn't seem overly complicated. The price just didn't seem justified. My pork chops were on the dry side, and no one at our table really raved about their dish.

It's cute and cozy, but there's a lot of room for improvement. Or maybe I just don't like French Food.

Texenza Coffee

I'm pretty sure I just had the best Iced Coffee of my life today, at the little Texenza within the Frost Tower. I go in at least once a week, and today was Free Shot Friday* (why don't they have these at bars?) and they lovingly put a free shot of espresso into my large iced coffee with Sugar Free Vanilla with room. Mmmm. Added some half and half and the fixin's station, and perfection was in my cup.

The first time I got an iced coffee from this location, I didn't know what I wanted so I trusted them to lead me in the right direction. I didn't want any ice in my drink, so they shook my iced coffee, mixed it with some milk and strained it into my cup for me. How's that for a morning cocktail?

I love these guys. They are happy, but not the kind of happy that makes you want to slap someone when you're half awake on a Monday morning. They always make me smile, and they always give me exactly what I need in the morning to make it through.

*Special changes every Friday. Once is was a free syrup. You can also follow them on Twitter for cool deals that change often.

The Cheesecake Factory

My boyfriend and I couldn't really decide on what we wanted for dinner, so we tried the Cheesecake Factory. I've heard good and bad things; mostly mediocre.

We got there and the place is HUGE. LOUD. The menu went on for days, and all I could think was "I am not going to order strawberry lemonade or popcorn shrimp." Andre 3000 would have been proud.

We both enjoyed the avocado eggrolls, that tasted like more than just avocado. Both of us were "eh" about our pasta entrees. For one thing, Are you serious about charging $13 for angel hair pasta, garlic, olive oil, maybe 1/4 of a tomato, 4 mushrooms and 2 sliced up pieces of asparagus? I understand charging $4 for 4 shrimp, but please be a little bit more liberal with your veggies.

We boxed up half of our dinner (which I still have not eaten, 3 days later), and opted for dessert. It's the Cheesecake factory, right? My boyfriend's banana creme cheese cake was really great, but my Caramel Turtle Cheesecake was WAY TOO SWEET. It would have been MUCH better with a plain cheesecake between the brownie like crust, and the giant blob of fudge icing.

If we go here again, it'll just be for dessert.

After reading the other reviews, I don't feel so bad about reviewing it only having been there once for happy hour. After all, their menu is tiny.

Let me let you in on a little secret though. The pizzas are personal size, so you can share one or two and not be full. We got the Prosciutto Arugula, and it was ok. It was pretty obvious to me that the crust was par-cooked with the cheese. That way, whatever you order, they just have to throw the toppings on and stick it back in the oven. I love prosciutto, but the fat made it difficult to take a bite and not take half the meat with you. The arugula had a nice dressing on it, which was different. The $1 beer? You better like whatever domestic lite is was. Miller lite? Coors? Something like that. Though, you're not going to pay more than $4 for a beer at happy hour. Don't like beer? Be ready to pay a little more for your drinks. I switched it up and went with some mixed prosecco and fruit drink. Small, delicious, and great on a hot day.

My main gripe was the service. There was no room inside, so we were seated outside. It was hot. Yeah, there were ceiling fans and misters, but there wasn't really a spot where you could really feel them. There was a table of two ladies already there, and I think they both left without ordering anything. My friend and I moved twice, plugged in the giant fan, and waited a couple more minutes before anyone came out to take our orders. After that, service was spotty.

There's really no reason for me to go here again, unless I'm already in the neighborhood. Show owner comment »

OMG THE RANCH! Must be house made, and takes any of their pizzas up a notch.

Got some take-out from F&A, headed home, and shared with my honey. The pie made it home intact, and without a soggy crust. Delicious, Chairman of the Board.

The menu is cute, the employees are sweet and helpful, and I'll be glad when we can sit down and enjoy another slice.
