Nail House VII
Categories: Nail Salons, Restaurants
Got mni ($10) & eye brow wax ($8)...can't beat that....typical asian nail salon...they don't open a new pack of tools w/ each mani which i expected at such a price...mani was sufficient, looks good, but experience was not good (my arms were hurting from leaning them on the nail table, no massage, and i accidently smudged the polish while she was working on my nails and she got all pissy w/ me). I might go back for a mani, but def not for brow wax-she didn't give me a mirror after and just rushed me out of the room and didn't do a good job (doesn't look like she did anything). Overall, can't beat the price, that's why i gave eit fours star.

Randolphs Bar & Lounge

Neighborhood: Midtown East
I stopped in by myself to have a litle coffee & dessert mid-day. I figured a place that was so expensive would have unforgettable food-not so (wouldn't recommend choc. mouse) A little stuffy but staff is friendly. Reminds me of places on TV where old business men meet for whiskey. Older crowd. (I'd say age range from 40's up)

Casual, quaint atmoshere. Alot of reviews say "laid-back" but I think of the Blarney Stone or dirty Irish pub when that phrase is said. This place is alot nicer and better food. I had summer tomato goat cheese salad which was excellent! I'd really recommend dropping in for a drink and appetizer if you're in the area. Employees are very friendly also!
GREEN, PEACEFUL SANTUARY: I'd recommend going here if you're looking for quaint outside garden seating with 'eh' food- but they use organic "where that can." Went at 10am on weekday. They were out of OJ and croissants (disappointing!). I had espresso and french toast-it was ok. Waitress speaks French btw.

The Original Pancake House
Category: Breakfast & Brunch
Like a diner. Save your money, go out and buy quality ingredients and spend quality time with whoever your're w/ making food at home. I got buckwheat pancakes and person i was with got an omlet. It's not really an "omlet" more like a puffy fritatta (they use six eggs and bake it)- he didn't like it. The bucketwheat pancakes were ok, but for $7.50, i should have just made them at home. The maple syrup didn't taste like real maple syrup, but rather the high frustose kind you buy in supermarket. I also didn't like how you can't just get 1 or 2 pancakes, but instead you have to get the whole 6 stack. I won't be back, too pricey.

TASTE: I only had the appetizer bread w/ avocado, bean puree, and tomato dips, but it was really good.
PRICE: (reason i didn't give it 5 stars) Dropped almost $50 for meal mentioned above, glass of prosecco ($11) and some fruity drink w/ no alchohol ($12). They do have happy hour though ($4 beer, $5 wells) and a pric-fix menu.
ATMOSHERE: This is why we dropped in here for a couple drinks. It was a hot summer day and me and my boyfriend sat right at the entrance watching people walk by at this little table for two. Very romantic. They also have an outsdie courtyard in the back for eating (awesome)! Staff is really friendly and knowledgable.
TIP: Stay away from the fruity cocktails-go for whatever their special is.

TASTE: Had the fuggazo pizza and vegetable stew-outstanding! Very flavorful. Person I was with had ham & chesse omlet & they liked that. I can't imagine why some reviews didn't like this place - as someone who eats very "clean" this was great b/c i knew it was healthy for me and it tasted great!
PRICE: It's true the meal was a little expensive (about $50 for two, meals mentioned above + iced tea + 1 smoothie) but if you cook all organic you know how expensive it can get (the soup alone had lots of herbs, and veggies).
PORTION: I was full after my soup and pizza and a few sips of smoothie. The portions aren't huge, so if you want to see what a "normal" portion of food looks like and really savor your food, go here.
ATMOSHERE: Unprentious, clean, bar inside, outside seating
TIP: I hear the pastries are dry, I had a piece of a crossiant and it was really dry, so maybe that review is right on. Also, not the best place selection for vegans (although they have great variety of soups). I think a good hummus would complete their menu.

WORST CHEAP HAIRCUT EVER! I switch on and off throughout the year doing a "cheap" ($15-$20) haircut and "expensive" ($45-$70). I wanted a "trim" and the girl completely butchered my hair, which was a couple inches below my collar bone when I walked in and now a "long layer" that I asked her just to trim is above my neck. Honestly, it looks like a mullet!
TIP: I asked her not to do the "blending, fraying" thing with the scissors that most cheap places always do, causing my hair to look cheap and split eneded. I just said "keep it blunt." Always ask for this at cheap places b/c the expensive places don't do that and it only damages your hair.

Nothing fancy, just good italian food. Dessert is the best!! I love that the food is quality while the atmoshere is romantic, casual (I don't want to go to a place that charges for an overpriced meal to pay for their chessy italian decor). Prices are very reasonable. Very nice service (they clearly do such good business b/c they have alot of repeat customers). BYOB. Parking can be a pain.
Great selection, clean, good product knowledge by associates, who by their looks, know what they are talking about. They won't talk you up, but just simply tell you what works and what doesn't . And if they don't know (hey, you're not gonna ask a 25 year old guy who is making min wage about the best vitamins for shiny hair) they'll just walk you over to where you can find stuff and leave you be to read the information on the products.) I really like the no BS approach of this place ( i wish other places could just give me what I need and if you don't know let be to quietly read and make my selection instead of making stuff up).
