It was the four of us and we were hungry and cold. We walked a couple of blocks to get here because we were suffering from cabin fever from the most recent snowstorm. I've always wondered about this little joint and am glad that I finally decided to try it. They layout of the restaurant is pretty simple and cute. They have a few tables where you can sit on the floor inside a semi-private room. I don't really like sitting on the floor while eating at a restaurant (I can do this at home) so we sat at a normal table by the heater.
We came at the right time because they have happy hour everyday from 4 to 6 pm, and their appetizers, beer and wine are $3! Amazing!
We ordered the batagor (fried tofu with chicken and fish inside) and risoles (breaded egg rolls stuffed with chicken). Umm... they were SO delish and unlike anything that I've eaten before. Everything was very flavorful especially with the peanut sauce.
I ended up ordering a noodle dish with sauteed chicken and mushrooms over it that came with a bowl of beef ball soup. I wasn't a fan of the beef ball soup and I was expecting a different type of noodles. The menu said egg noodles but the noodles that came were slightly different.
My friends got different rice plates and the one with the beef tasted the BEST to me! They also have an interesting fried egg side that comes with the rice... not a huge fan of it either because it's spicy and I can't handle spicy at all.
But anyway, service was nice and the happy hour deals are really awesome. Parking's not a pain either. I think this is one of those places you just have to try at least once because it's so unique and truly one of its kind in Seattle.
