Casulo Hotel

My boyfriend and I recently had a 2 night stay here at Casulo while vacationing in Austin. For the price, this can't be beat. I upgraded ourselves to the Petite Suite for a bit more spacious room. I hate tiny tiny hotel rooms. This room was nice! It had a couch, King bed, and beautiful shower.

We get free breakfast but we somehow never woke up early enough to try it. Oh well!

As for location, it's pretty close to where you want to be in Austin. It's conveniently near the freeway which is a good and bad thing. I personally never heard any freeway noise while in my room. But the only complaint is driving in the ramp to the hotel. It's just so awkward. If you miss it, you have to drive all around again to come back. It's just super awkward and a bit inconvenient at times but somehow you end up figuring out a way and you get used to it.

Parking is free which is lovely. If I were to book a hotel in Downtown Austin, I would probably have to pay parking fees. I saved a lot of money by staying at this boutique hotel.

The people working here are all very nice. However, the time of the day they come to clean your room is not consistent and they sometimes just knock and walk in while you're in the room in the morning so that was a bit weird. I guess next time I'll put a sign for DO NOT DISTURB.

Oh ya, something about the water or the toiletries are weird. When we use their soap, it just feels "oily". We're not sure if it's the water or the soap but something just makes our skin feel oily and not rinsed off completely. We didn't like that.

But overall, the place is clean, spacious, convenient to popular stuff in Austin, and price is very good. I'd still come back and stay here again if ever I come back to Austin.

I know it's technically Leung Kee but it will always be Sam Woo in  my heart. This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants. Growing up, we always came here for some good Chinese food.

Service is never very friendly for the most part. I guess it's part of the fun right? I don't even care. I come here strictly for the food. My favorite is the crispy pan fried Beef Chow Mein. I've never ordered anything off their menu that I didn't like. It's all so delicious. Food arrives in lightning speed as always and yes service is kinda rude sometimes but price is very reasonable and food is yum.

I went here on a weekday night with a large group of friends. I wish it was Thursday for the AYCE sushi for $23 because that would have been cheaper than how much I ended up really spending. For 2 people, we ended up spending $60 which is quite a lot in my opinion for the mediocre food and service that we received.

The food itself is very mediocre. The quality of the rolls were just whatever. We ordered fish and it was overcooked, dry, and not very tasty at all. The rolls had WAY too much sauce on it that overpowered the entire thing. We had a very hard time getting the waiter just to refill our waters too. It was just an blah experience. I don't think I'll come back here if I can help it.

This place is the quintessential Texas BBQ joint in my books. It's not fancy, it's gritty, and it's all about the meat. You come in, you order how ever many pounds of meat you want, they cut it up and roll it up in some paper with some bread and there you go. It's magical!

I am so used to eating my meats with side dishes but you don't need side dishes when you come here. The brisket alone was so juice, flavorful, and tender that I could just eat that by itself. The bread was a bonus because you could make yourself a brisket sandwich if you wanted to. I loved the concept and the fact you don't need plates. You just eat with your hands. They also have Bluebell Ice Cream for those of you who want a little dessert at the end.

I'm so glad I decided to go out of my way to come to this BBQ joint. It was delicious and the smokiness of the meat was perfection!

By the way, my boyfriend and I decided to also try out Black's down the block to compare and Smitty's won! Brisket all the way baby! There's nothing like it!

Ruckman Haus Bed & Breakfast

I never stayed at a Bed & Breakfast before so when I decided to take a trip to San Antonio, I really wanted to get feel of southern hospitality and try something new besides the usual typical hotel. After reading reviews, I decided to book The French room at Ruckman Haus. Upon arriving, we were pleasantly greeted by Prudence (owner) who kindly gave us maps, tips, and a tour of the home. She was so sweet and kind and super helpful and friendly.

The room itself is so lovely! The bed was amazing, the room decor was extremely cute and serene, and the bathroom shower was heavenly. We even had our own private porch with a rocking loveseat. It was so nice sitting out there in the late night and just talked and enjoyed each others company.

We also received a free breakfast cooked by Ron (her husband/owner) who cooked us a fabulous breakfast that was plentiful and delicious.

Overall, it was such a lovely home with great details and history. An amazing library with tons of books including tour books if you need them! I would totally come back and stay here if I ever come back to San Antonio again. I think it's going to be very hard to top this bed & breakfast. I don't know how other bed & breakfast can even compare to this one. I loved my room and the home itself and the location. It's quite close to the main attractions of the city and the area itself is adorable, safe, and quaint.

Definitely book your stay here when visiting San Antonio. You will not regret it!

How can you go wrong with beer, live music, German food, and good friends?!?!?

You simply can't!

Make reservations and bring your friends to this joint! It's a must! I've been to Germany and this brought me back to my trip. It was such a lively atmosphere! The food is yum and tons and tons of choices to choose from!

Order this one shot where they surprise your friend with the shot and gives him/her a nice hard SPANKING with a wooden paddle!! It's hilarious and I heard it can really hurt! But maybe if you drink enough, you won't even notice!! :P

I loved it when the whole place started singing together! It's so much fun and I would totally come back here in a heartbeat with the right group of friends who know how to have some fun!

I went here with a few friends of mine and was BLOWN away. And to think, I almost didn't even go. I was feeling cheap and didn't want to spend a grip on dinner, but boy am I glad that I went and had the wonderful opportunity to eat at this fabulous restaurant with some dear friends of mine.

First off, the ambiance is very simple, understated, and clean. Nothing overly done. In fact, I heard it was on purpose so that you can focus on the food and the people rather than the art and ambiance of the place.

Secondly, service is top-notch. If you're paying the big bucks, it's no wonder. They totally spoil you here and answer all your silly questions!

Thirdly, ANYTHING you order off the menu will be delicious! We each ordered different items and tried each others plates and were blown away. You can't go wrong with anything you order!

Everything was perfectly made and cooked very well and tender. So juicy! So flavorful and so plentiful!

You definitely get what you pay for at this restaurant. I would totally go back either with a significant other or a nice group of close friends. It was such a lovely experience!

I was craving for a light and healthy sandwich and realized there aren't many options like this in West Covina area. Luckily, thanks to Yelpers, I found this nifty place!

TONS and TONS of choices from gourmet wraps, to paninis, mini pizzas, breakfast wraps, salads, etc. I love the amount of choices!

Prices are also super reasonable!

On top of that they have a wide selection of coffees, teas, and smoothies. The place is quaint. The service is great. The selection and quality of foods are very good as well. I will definitely come back and try more of their items.

The ultimate BEST AYCE KBBQ joint I've been to in a long time. I was very impressed by not only the price, but also the variety of selection, quality of meats, and overall ambiance of the place.

For $20 (dinner), you can select top quality meats and have an unlimited amount of them! It's so fabulous! It's not just picking from 10 things, but over 20 types of items! It's amazing!

The service is also top notch. Our waiter, Ken, was super friendly, came to check up on us often, and was quick on getting our meats.

And the ambiance is a great bonus too! It's uber cool and modern. I think it would be a great place to have a small gathering of friends for a birthday party. It's a fun and young atmosphere.

The only thing is, the long waiting time! I think we waited nearly an hour to be seated and this was a weekday evening! I can't even imagine how it would be if it was a weekend.

Nevertheless, it was very much worth the wait. So check this place out. I would totally come back here in a heartbeat. Good food, good company, and doesn't break the bank! I love it!

This place holds a special place in my heart. It's the place I first met my boyfriend on our first date. :)

The food was delicious and fresh. The sushi master was friendly and answered all my silly sushi questions. Sit at the bar and enjoy watching tv, talking to the chef, and talking to your date. It's great!

It's a relatively tiny place so it's not ideal for large groups. Also, service can be very slow at times but the food is worth it. Prices are also very reasonable.
