I have used Toni twice now for Shellac nails - this last time I even had her do my toes! She does a fabulous job, and my nails have not chipped in 3 weeks - not a chip! And I am rough on my nails! She is fun to talk to and the whole experience is relaxing and easy. I recommend her to all my friends!

I was invited to speak at a meeting being held in the meeting room and was a little skeptical coming from out of town, but I was pleasantly surprised! A few of us started out on the deck and had a drink or appetizer and it was SO beautiful and peaceful. Lots of photo opportunities overlooking the waterfront - it was really stunning and I envisioned it would be a great place for a date or even a small wedding reception or some other romantic occasion.

When our meeting began we went into the closed meeting room just to the right of the entrance. Even though the meeting room is kind of an odd shape (a little long and narrow with the podium at the top left of a horizontal rectangle if that makes sense) the room itself was very nice. There were tableclothed tables, great lighting and once the doors were closed it was very private. The servers were discreet in coming in to take orders and deliver food and I felt it was a professionally handled meeting space.

I cannot review the food since I did not have a meal but I wanted to put this out there for anyone looking for restaurant meeting space in the area. Since I conduct workshops in Sonoma, Napa and Solano counties, I felt this venue would be a convenient place to meet.

Nation's Giant Hamburgers & Great Pies

We live in the North Bay and coming home from a vacation to Mexico we were craving an American burger. At SFO we googled "burgers" in the area, and found Nation's in Daly City which was fairly easy to get to from the freeway. We stopped in and got 2 cheeseburgers and fries.

The burgers were delicious - except that we had to scrape off probably a 1/4 cup of mayo off of each one! After that they were perfect though. Big and satisfying, and the fries were crispy and good as well.

For being in a nice shopping center I was surprised at how "icky" it was inside though - not very clean. Otherwise it would have gotten 5 stars!

I'd stop there again on my way home from SFO. The burgers hit the spot!

My son (6 years old) has been attending Karate classes at SYMA for about a month. This is the first activity we have enrolled him in that he actually begs to go to! I love that we pay one flat rate and can come as often as we like. I started out thinking we would do 2 afternoons a week but he has wanted to come every day! I've been surprised at how well my son has done in a short time.

One thing I love is that Cogen is very patient and calm with the children. They respect him completely but also have fun with him. He is serious yet playful so he isn't intimidating. He is able to meet the needs of a variety of ages in the class, from very young up to pre-teens and all of the children get along and respect each other.

The facility is clean and beautiful - very peaceful. The only "negative" is there is only a small space to sit so if you want to observe or do not have anywhere to go while waiting for your child, you can either use a bench outside, or visit the pizza parlor next door, or wait in your car. I love watching, though we are new and it is fun for me still!

I highly recommend the children's Karate classes!

Rafy's Pizzeria

I needed a place to meet my husband with the kids for dinner and decided to try Rafy's. This is a very casual 'deli' type place - nothing fancy - but the food is FABULOUS. The kids had pepperoni pizza and the adults had stromboli. It was perfect. The stromboli portion was so generous I thought I would explode if I finished it but I simply could not stop, it was so very good. The ingredients are obviously fresh and very flavorful. The cook was very accommodating and friendly. We had their home made cookies for dessert and they were wonderful. We will definitely be back!

My son is 6 and has been attending classes here for 2 years and LOVES it. He has learned a lot of Spanish and has fun participating in the activities. The teachers are so patient and loving and they make everyone feel comfortable. I love how they use interactive props, stories and songs to teach the young children.

My husband and I went on a hot date to The Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose (there was a Star Trek exhibit!!) and being from Sonoma County we weren't sure what to plan for dinner. I hopped on Yelp and found that this place was nearby and had good reviews so we gave it a shot.

We arrived at about 8pm and there was only 1 other couple in the place, even though the 2 surrounding restaurants were packed. Not a good sign! This was a Saturday night! But we went in anyway and I am so glad we did.

The food was heavenly, generous and affordable. I ordered the filet mignon cubes with garlic rice and it was simply the best meat I had eaten in a very long time. Super tender and flavorful and for only $14 for the entre.' I wanted to order a whole 2nd plate. I was only expecting about half of what I was served - the portions were very generous!  The garlic rice was perfect as was the salad. We had creme brulee' for dessert and it was great as well.

By about 8:45 or 9 the place filled up and we were no longer alone. The only reason I did not give this place 5 stars is because of the wine service. As others have mentioned, with "Wine Bar" in the title we expected there to be not only a large variety of wines (which there was) but also someone knowledgeable enough to help us venture out and try something new. The waitress did not seem to know what was what, only what she liked. She did offer to get answers from someone else in the back and did that, but it would be a much better experience if they had a wine server come to the tables and take the wine order, explaining things or offering tastings. After my questions, I did receive 2 samples to try, so our waitress did try to help, but...?

The food was superb, the atmosphere was romantic, and the wine was really good. I will be going back next time we are in the area!

Taking this place for what it is - a tiki bar - you will love it! It's funky and fun. The floating band was GREAT. The drinks was delicious and the atmosphere was playful. There were many couples dancing on the dance floor and the crowd was a good mix of young adults and more mature. There was a $7 cover charge the night we went (because of the band I presume) but it was worth it!

Great show, entertaining etc. I can't add much to the other reviews about the show - it was great. But SERIOUSLY cramped quarters. If you are anything but "slim to average" you will be quite uncomfortable. I was avoiding my neighbor's elbows all night and had no room to take off my jacket gracefully much less stretch. The seats are very hard and uncomfortable so I'd bring a cushion, too! Get there at least a half hour early so you can try to be in the front row of your section. I was behind a lady with tall hair and had to spend most of the night with my head to the side trying to see between her and her date and then to the other side as she went back and forth talking to him and her friends all night. For the price I wish the seating was better arranged and more comfortable!

I am surprised at the bad reviews! We thought it was great! We came to the city to see Beach Blanket Babylon and wandered the surrounding streets for a place to eat afterwards. We were offered the free glass of wine but kept walking the first time, then after seeing how crowded the other places were, we went back. We were seated right away by a friendly hostess and were immediately greeted by the wine and bruschetta - which was delicious! We ate there the same night as Ben B. but had a completely different experience. I, too, ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara and it was delicious. Everyone does it differently, cut them some slack. It tasted great and just based on that alone I'd be back! My husband got the veal stuffed with gargonzola and it was delicious as well and cooked exactly to his specifications. The gummy bears and cookies at the end are a little quirky but in this day and age and in this particular area, you have to stand out and I thought it was unique and charming. Our waiter - Antonio - was excellent! Very attentive but not overbearing. The only down side was the TV playing - it was a little distracting and seemed more fitting in a bar or family style restaurant. The noise level was quite high as well, I don't think the faux statues do enough to absorb the sound!
Overall it was a great experience and we can't wait to go back!
