This is an update to my original review over a year ago.  I have to say, this continues to be my favorite place to eat downtown during the work week. The staff are SUPER nice and speedy.

I don't have a menu in front of me, but I can't think of anything there I have not liked.  And I've tried a good many of the wraps.  Right now, I guess the Hummas Wrap is my favorite.  Lately though I've also tried the soups and the Tomato Basil is superb!  Still nothing better thank their pesto pasta though.  I'm addicted.

The Holland House has recently had some great reviews in the local papers.  So how easy for me to come along behind them all and give my own opinion?  Easy.  First of all, I went there treating a friend since we both had heard so many good things about this place.  Second, I had no real expectations at all.  I went to experience.

Let me first preface this by saying that I know specialty or designer cocktails are in right now and I am NO expert in this whatsoever.   I cannot speak to the unique recipes or skills when it comes to these drinks.  What I can say though is that the drinks make this establishment hot.  The drink menu is terrific in its description of the drinks available.  Read though the menu and then close your eyes and order whatever your finger hits.  They are all terrific. More importantly, sit at the bar and watch the drink be created.  It is masterful... beautiful and bewildering.  If you are a girl like me, you will be enthralled with the bartenders' abilities and fantastic ability to shake the mixer.  Sorry for the sidebar, but there is something theatrically sexy about bartenders in suspenders and pants, saloon wear, mixing cocktails. And for that, nothing beats the Holland House.

The food menu is small, but delightful... just order what you want.  No need to put a lot of time into the decision.  I highly recommend the pork tenderloin BLT appetizer and then anything else on the menu.  I had the Porterhouse, but everything I saw looked amazing.  Heard no complaints from those around me.

Most impressive is the building and feel of the place.  Beautifully situated in an East Nashville up and coming neighborhood, it is old but modern.  I happened in at a time perfect for the setting sun to filter into the windows and delicately light the area around the bar.  It felt like the best way to end the day.

Ah.  Finally!  An Inglewood neighborhood pub.  Finally.  This is a new establishment, but has hit the ground running with a great rehabbed house turned pub right on McGavock at Riverside Village.  It is a terrific new place that everyone should try and come to love.

I can't add much to Jamie's post.  But I can't say how excited I am to have a neighborhood pub with a nice outdoor porch.  It is situated perfectly on the #20 bus line and on the way home for many of us riders.  The awesome beer selection is the main draw, but don't miss the unique food menu.  This isn't your traditional pub food.  The menu has great platters meant to be shared featuring local cheeses and meats.

The staff is fun and friendly.  The music was great when I was there.  This is how a neighborhood bar should be.  Comfortably, welcoming and the first place you want to go to wind down or share a story.

Update:  Liquor license has been obtained.  Look for more drinks selections ASAP.

My first meal here was breakfast.  It was nothing spectacular, but with a good menu and good prices, it was a good experience.  Always super to have a nice breakfast place in the neighborhood.  Dinner was different.  First off, they have the most amazing friend dill pickles evah!!  Best I've had.  And the burgers are great.  Not often I find a burger with fried egg.  When I do, it is always impressive.  And the one at the Pied Piper, met my great expectations.  Check it out!!

I'm a bus rider.  I'm believe I am a happier, kinder person for riding the bus.  And I'd like for the rest of the city to be happier and kinder.  I find the drivers to be nice and friendly so long as you are nice and friendly.  They put up with a lot of crud.  Hop on a bus, smile at your neighbors, and spread the love.

I decided long ago I will always live in a river city.  The river pulses an energy that helps me feel both alive and connected to the world.  I had never experienced a pedestrian bridge before moving to Nashville and it has become one of my favorite places.  You can just sit and watch the water move, enjoy a sunrise or sunset, take great photos, or just walk.  No matter, it will always be enjoyable.  I take all my visitors.  And like many of you, I park on the eastside when going downtown.  I'm just a cheapskate.... but I get some exercise in the process.

My favorite venue on the east side for music.  Sometimes the evenings are an awesome mix of folky singer/songwriters and punk bands or just whoever from Louisville.  Whatever is going on, you will enjoy the heck out of it.  Find you a good friend in the hood and stay out of the car.  Walking is easy -- especially have a few too many.

Yes, Monell's is as good as it gets here in Nashville for sit down, family style eatin minus hot chicken.  Brought the family in for mother's day and treated them nice.  The food was incredible (as usual), but the "family" atmosphere was a good one (unusual).  We sat next to two nice families with behaved kids.  The Nephew did not believe me when I said, "it will be more food than you've ever seen in your life".  Showed him.  And for once, the Stepdad said, "well.... good job, I guess".  Hurray for me!  This is the good ole home style food your mom doesn't get to enjoy often.  So use it often with or without her.

I am only providing this review for eyebrow waxing.  But I like this place a lot.  It is downtown and super convenient for downtown workers/livers.  And eyebrow wax is something I put off to the last minute and then I suddenly can get through the day without waxing.  What can be better than to run across the street?  Amy does the trick.  I am tempted to return for mani and pedi.  And a co-worker has his hair done there.  So I will have to follow up when I experience more services.  But I highly recommend them for waxing.  And they do more than the eyebrows, sistas.
