I'm really puzzled as to how this place earned 2 Michelin stars... One star -- yeah, I can see that, but two? No way.
For one thing, the service we received was spotty at best. The bus boy (are they still called that?) motioned to just flick off my napkin which was sitting on the charger onto the table as opposed to handing it to me. (I grabbed it from the charger instead... ) Also, our waiter disappeared sometime during our main course without letting us know... The waiter also took it upon himself to order another glass of wine for my DH... and it was put on our bill. Maybe that's a New York thing? We don't do things like that in California...
Food was very, very good. It's the service that *earned* the place just 3.5 stars. Price-wise, very reasonable.
