The theater itself isn't all that bad. A little crowded but nothing too crazy. The real kicker here is parking. We ate across the street(Thai Cottage) and planned to have a drink there after the show. While we were in the movie our car was towed. Why didn't we just move our car you may ask. Well, parking is $3 in the designated lot for the theater. Yes, that's right, you have to pay more on top of an over priced movie ticket and popcorn with a 500% markup. I'm in the wrong business. To think movie studios wonder why we pirate their movies.

Pappas Burger

It's the forth of July, and we were craving burgers. I head on over to Yelp and type in "Burgers" for my search terms. Rather than hit up ol' reliable we decide to give Pappas a try. Lets be honest, whether we like to admit it or not, they're a Houston staple. The reviews here aren't too bad. There is some complaining over the price, but if the burger costs $12 (!!) and their still getting a four star review they must be out of this world. In short, not so much.

The ordering process is awkward to put it nicely. It was the topic of our conversation until well past the time our food arrived. You walk in to the menu on the wall, like you would see in most fast food/ gourmet burger joints. You order, but don't you dare try and pay. You go sit down and wait for someone to read off your meal ticket. I'm just not sure why anyone would think this was the best route for taking your order.

Anyway, on to the average food. And boy, do I mean average. When you order, they ask you how you would like the burger to be cooked. I'm not sure why. I asked for medium, it was well done. The burger came fairly quick, under ten minutes. These aren't made to order. If anything my money is on them sitting in a steaming tray for a while before it reached me. All in all I'd take Five Guys or Beck's Prime over Pappas' burger any day of the week, and especially on America's birthday.

Now how in the world after all these gripes could I possibly give it three stars, you may be asking yourself. One word, milkshake. I ordered the oreo milkshake and it was out of this world. I would come back just for the milkshake. And when I do, I'll make sure it's a Monday again, because the're only $2.50 on Mondays and that's well worth it!

Lafayette Cajun Seafood Restaurant

Don't judge a book by it's cover. People tell you that your whole life, but if your anything like me, most of the time you really can't help it. Reading consistent four and five star reviews for this place was a real stumper when I first arrived. It looks more like a bodega than a Yelpified success. To my surprise the food was amazing; genuinely some of the best seafood I've had. On top of that, the prices where better than I could have imagined. I did go at lunch, so the food was even more affordable than their dinners. I have to say,  I will definitely be back in the future. To anyone thinking about checking this place out, I'm gonna have to recommend a big yes!

Taco Milagro

Disclaimer: Any place with a good salsa bar ranks pretty high in my book. Taco Milagro is an all around good taco joint. The prices are on point, as are many taco places. The atmosphere is good, along with a great patio. The have an excellent salsa bar, as mentioned in the above disclaimer.

I went on a lazy Sunday afternoon, and was all around impressed. The food was great, the service was quick and the salsa was fresh. Theres not a whole lot that I can say negative about Taco Milagro. If your into tacos, you should definitely give this place a try.

RA Sushi Bar Restaurant

Coming in to this place for the first time kinda knocks you off of your feet. Most sushi spots are quiet, zen like places that help you relax while enjoying some of the finest fresh fish around. RA is not that kind of sushi place. The club like atmosphere makes you question where you are at first, but I soon adjusted. I went on a Saturday, and like other reviewers have notes, it's loud and crowded. This really didn't bother me to much, and was a pleasant change from the run of the mill sushi I'm used to.

The sushi itself was average for the most part. When ordering what I thought was a specialty roll, I ended up with a sparse amount of seared tuna and a dipping sauce. The spicy tuna (my par setting roll) was good, and the service was excellent for how busy it was.

I gave it a four starts for the atmosphere. Going on a Saturday really put me in the weekend mood. The prices were a bit high, and the sushi was average at best. In the future, this place might be reserved for out of towner's that come to visit and want to go out in the area.

Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen

Being new to the Houston area, I had to try some of the seafood. I was recommended here by one coworker, and the other steered me away. I took the risk anyway and tried it out. The prices where a bit high for the food. It was more comparable to a chain restaurant than a local favorite. For the most part, the food was average, hence the three stars. Nothing really put Pappadeaux above any other chain seafood restaurant that I've ever been too. In the future, I might try something a little more mom and pop, and a little less franchised out.

Princess Indian Cuisine

I'm what you would call a Indian food noob. I've only had it a handful of times, in very controlled environments, with people that knew what to eat and ordered what they enjoyed for me. The best part about having a buffet of Indian food is being able to try everything. The waitress/hostes recognized that we weren't really all that familiar with the courses, and helped us through.

All in all I highly recommend Pavani. If you are new to Indian cuisine, it's a must stop. If your a pro, I'm sure it'll make a good lunch.

On one of my first trips to Houston, I decided to try some creole out and spotted this place in the hotel directory. Right off the bat, a big plus in my book is online ordering. The food was fresh, and ready when I got there. The portions where huge, with an impressive variety to them (I got a combo of some sort). If your in the mood for Cajun, you can't pass up Ragin' Cajun.

Mission Burrito

Coming from someone who grew up in Cleveland, eating Chipotle, Mission Burrito was very refreshing. With a wide selection of salsas and the option to put avocado (my favorite green thing) right on the burrito, I'll admit that theres a new go to place for burritos in my book. The food was fresh, service friendly and prices on point. I can't help but feel kinda bad that Chipotle got moved to the back burner.

Berryhill Tamales & Tacos

Overall Berryhill wan't bad, it just wasn't great. A pretty decent place to hit up for lunch, there's nothing that really sets Berryhill apart from any other taco place. On the up side is is very affordable and the salsa bar is a nice touch. Try the green salsa if you go, its good on just about anything.
