I've dreamt of the perfect Italian Sub sandwich, but today I found it.

And life will never be the same again.

Ladies and gentlemen... THE GALLUCI
genoa salami, capicola, mortadella, mozzarella, seasoned onions, hot cherry peppers, lettuce, oil and vinegar, sesame hoagie roll (not baked)

To the fine folks at the Deli Board: Please make this a regular item on the menu. Please. Pretty please.... Please. Please. Please?

Four Barrel Coffee

The battle of the coffee roasters is alive and well.

I've been to Four Barrel a handful of times. And each time I sipped my coffee nice and slow, just to enjoy the experience of it all.

Summary:
coffee - love it. need it. gotta have it.
ambiance - cool industrial meets hunting lodge look
friendly service - as in with a smile and no attitude when i have my kids in tow?
free wifi - check
clean bathrooms - hey sometimes nature calls
great selection of "oh what the hell I'll take two of those" baked goods - to savor with my "morning cup of life"
and dog friendleeee - makes me want to get a dog.

So what differentiates one from the next? I mean beyond the obvious list above? The people behind the business - the ones who care about the community that they do business in. Imagine my delight when I heard that Four Barrel would be a sponsor of the Rosa Parks Parents Coffee Klatch. Now that's just impressive.  Raising my mug to you all. Cheers.

A unique SF only dining experience to be sure.

The tasting menu is the way to go. But you already knew that from all the other reviews. If you and your friends are big eaters - I'd say order the chicken dinner along side the tasting menu - oh and an arepa too.

Couple of tips:
- No take out. Please, that defeats the whole purpose of this meal which is meant to be consumed over 90 min. (at least)

- Tight quarters. Be ready to dine in a small intimate space. Parties larger than 4 are not likely to fit.

- Do try the exotic juices. Something new for your palate.

- Be prepared to relax and savor each dish on the tasting menu. The portions are meant to be enjoyed not gobbled up.

Grand Pu Bah Thai Restaurant

I normally head here for dinner with friend who happen to be regulars. So yes, when my Thai friend orders dinner, she always orders the best! My faves - I'll always try the Volcano Chicken (though we ask them not to light the whole chicken on fire since it tends to dry out the inside), sticky rice and papaya salad. I could live on this alone. For cocktails, I absolutely love the Sai Thai (spelling?) it's the cocktail with a spicy kick - amazing if you like your cocktails spicy.

Never been for lunch, but I never have to wait to be seated for dinner around 7ish.

Oh and before I forget, this is a relatively large space, so dinner for large groups? I'd say there's a good chance that they can accommodate you.

Pony Up!

Responsive. Prompt. Treat their little animals as if they were their own children. Need I say more? Ok I will...

The unthinkable: We had hired Pony Up! to bring in a baby farm animal petting zoo for a VERY last minute event my workplace  (imagine a pen of baby chickens, goats, bunnies and ducklings)

Jen (I think she is the owner) was great to work with. She asked a lot of questions about the space where we wanted to have the petting zoo and brought the perfect mix of animals with her. (think: smaller animals, smaller - well you get where I'm going) Now I wouldn't recommend this unless you have a hard surface floor and lot's of room, but to be honest, aside of the sawdust, it was a pretty clean experience all around.

She was super prompt. Maybe even early?!

Her animals were cute, clean and well cared for.

P.S. And the adults went bananas over the baby animals! I'd definitely work with her again - if and when I'm in need of a Pony Party. :)

SF Party

It's a one stop shop. Boom. Done.

...rented helium tanks from these guys. Easy peasy.
...found an amazing array of party decorations. Theme party anyone?
...every balloon color your little heart can imagine. Rainbows!
...plastic table cloths (booyah!)

But today was the best. I called to see if they could deliver balloons for a birthday girl (you know who you are) and not only did they fulfill the order quickly, the woman on the phone helped me pick out the perfect arrangement of balloons to meet the personality of the birthday girl. Now granted, I got lucky and they were able to deliver the bouquet as their driver had just returned to the store, but I would recommend ordering ahead of time if possible.

To top it off the delivery guy was super nice.

Minimum $50 order plus $15 delivery fee - and the party comes to life instantly.

Would it be wrong to say that this is perhaps the best Pho that I've had ever? Yes... all they way over in London. Yes... in a chic little spot, complete with modern decor and funky music track playing in the background.

I know. I know. You area thinking - this girl did not grow up eating the Pho in Westminster (California). Whatever. It's me. And all I have to say is the Pho here is worth trying. The broth is delicate but full of flavor. The noodles are fresh and the spring rolls were fantastic.

They even had Banh Xeo! I'm in love.

Outer Sunset represent!

Not sure what's spurring the resurgence of cool lil' businesses in the Outer Sunset, but I don't care if it keeps attracting delicious spots like this one.

Blue bottle coffee. (Yes!)

Blueberry and banana muffin. (OK, so how do they bake the muffin so that the blueberries stay plump and juicy? They literally gushed juicy blueberry goodness in my mouth when it bit into the muffin.)

Comfort-pastries like the cinnamon rolls, bread pudding and b-fast sammies - will keep me coming back until I've sampled one of everything.

Open kitchen setting. Simple no frills. Just solid.

Welcome to the hood.  What a great neighbor you'll make!

mmmmm...

I salivate for the precision that is served by the well trained tenders of the bar at the Burritt Room.

They get five stars alone for artfully displaying their bountiful collection of bitters so carefully on the bar - right where I can read them all! And don't even get me started on the ambiance. When I slipped in here, it was a rare warm day in SF and the late afternoon glow of the sun and the breeze that wafted in created the perfect magical place to have a cocktail.

To anyone who has had to listen to me drone on about my new found love for rye's, bourbon's and the like, I apologize. To understand this new obsession of mine, drop in here for a craft cocktail and you'll understand why I'm giddy over the brown.

Cheers!

YO YO Mo YO!

As a frequent Japan Town shopper, I'd say that this place is a nice little addition to the bevvy of shops that keep my kids wanting more. Now when we're over they seem to gravitate towards MOYO instantly.

Right across from the Sanrio Store, it's also located close to the entrance from Peace Plaza.

Froyo is solid. They have a great selection and are very helpful. I appreciate their selection of fresh fruit.

The manager of the business also seems like a truly  stand up guy - I mean he's offering to donate 20% of each purchase if you mention Rosa Parks Elementary or Jefferson!
