Lush is my new obsession. I use to walk by this store and be totally put off by the smell... it was just so strong I thought...How can anyone stand to be in there?!?
But about 6 months ago I got over it and walked inside for a quick peek and fell HEAD OVER HEALS in LOVEEE!
Here are a few of my favorite things:
1. How they make conscious effort to be green
2. How you can buy soaps by the oz
3. The massage bars... All of them!
4. The Bath bomb (especially the butterball... its a classic but it leaves your skin feeling unbelievably smooth!)
5. The Pudding soap!
6. The sensitive skin products
7. The bath melts
I could go on and on! I have really sensitive skin and haven't had a problem with most their products (though one or two have been a little too strong for me) but I came in and told them and they helped me choose something better!

Ok so I have been coming to Mikuni's since I was about 9 or 10 (at the Fair Oaks location before expanded and spread like freaking wildfire). That being said Mikuni's has been the sight of some pretty important life events for me, from dates with my first love, to birthdays, to good bye parties. We've grown up together. But as I continue to grow Mikuni's has remained stagnant. They use to be so refreshing and innovative and now they are just a scene for yuppies and the wanna-be posh. They need revamping and some serious rethinking about their dependency on sauces.
They aren't classical Japanese. Infact if you want good sashimi and nigiri you should probably go somewhere else more classic. But what Mikuni's does well is rolls, and not Japanese style rolls, but those that appeal to Americans. Hey, every once in a while everyone just wants a good roll. I go here went I don't want classic Japanese.
But Mikuni's has become so overpriced and so cliche that it breaks my heart. You use to be so inovative and refreshing.... what happened?
-1 Star: For the wanna-be poshies who come here and ruin it for the rest of us because they are willing to spend $15 dollars on one roll.
-1 Star:The fact that Mikuni's hasn't changed much in the last 5 years.
Recommended Rolls: Mafia, Carmen, Marilyn, Train Wreck, Spicy Johnny, Fair Oaks (for those of you who liked things COOKED)
Recommended Specialities: Special Scallop, Sea Steak, BBQ White Tuna (its basically the same as Spicy Dream 1 just not sliced and with more sauce and its CHEAPER!)
*NOTE: The Edamame here are really salty (but I like them like that)
