Yes, 100 times yes!
Experienced the wonder that is Felix's about a year back for the first time, whilst visiting my parents, whom live down the road.
Amazingly authentic Cuban/latin food, from a truely family run establishment.
We ordered out, but even just picking it up, you got a sense that this place was the real deal. We had ordered a few basics (plantains, rice/beans, ropa vieja), and also had them throw in a few suprises, things they thought we should try.
It was all outstanding...in fact I need to remind myself to hit it up this weekend when visiting the folks!

Was craving something I hadn't had in a bit...a bit being a week and a half?.
The decor has a subtle elegance to it, very warm and intimate. Not many other patrons this particular Friday evening, but a few couples rolled in closer to 8pm. I was there for the dinner hour, but could see that they must do a lunch buffet of some sort as well...although I loathe buffets of all food types...worth mentioning for those who do not share that feeling. The service was prompt, and pleasant. I started with the veg manchurian, and a sweet lassi, eventually topping off my gullet with some palak paneer. Everything was great, wonderfully flavored and perfectly spiced. Way too much food though, over ambiciousness on my part, along with quite large portions. The paneer wad served with rice and dal, plus I ordered a roti.
The menu is vast, showcasing many traditional dishes from the South, even identifying vegan options along with an abundance of veg entrees.
I really enjoyed my experience here, and hope to return with more realistic consumption expectations.
Only complaint...and unfortulately it's a common one among Indian fare as of late...soggy papad/pampadoms.

Good find in Sebring...
Not much alternative flavor to your Sebring dining experience, but Thai House lends a hand.
The place is small, not take-out Chinese food store front small, but pretty small. The decor is intimate (ie. dark), with eclectic Thai furnishings, and artwork.
The service was quick and very friendly, son of the owner/chef was my server, and was quite attentive.
I admit I was not overly hungry when I made the choice to come in, but had soup on my mind at least. I ordered some tofu tod, tofu/veg soup, and a cucumber salad. Everything was great, I especially liked the flavoring of the soup, and the consistancy of the tofu tod (a lot of places with either use firm tofu or fry until firmed).
A great place to get some very authentic Thai cuisine on the cheap.

La Casita Mexican Family Restaurant

Nice little spot, hidden away in the Lake Placid area.
Found it online, during a frantic lunch venue search, after the local Thai place ended up being closed for late lunch time.
Nestled with the confines of the Sun Lake golf club, this one time pro shop, and possibly clubhouse has been transformed into a qauint little Mexican joint.
Can't say much for the decor, lots of coral colored walls...but it fits with the Floridian settings in-which it resides.
The service was quick, attentive, and polite.
Our food was pretty good, I had the spinahc enchilada, and some guac. The guac was fesh made, which in my book is always a plus, and true distinction of a good Mexican establishment. The enchilada was pretty good, served authentically in a corn tortilla, and smothered in a wonderful verde sauce. I opted fo no chesse, and the menu clearly stated it would ahve been monterey jack...eh, why no queso blano? Either way, it was great without, and everything was prepared nicely. Another possible gripe would have to be the salsa...very runny, not typically my style. Big chuncks of veg, and a goodly amount of cliantro, but just not enough. The chips that accompanied it were pretty good though, seemed to be made in-house.
Considering the options in Lake Placid, if you're in the area and hungry...it's a good alternative to Bubba's greasy spoon.

Victorian style home, turned into a eclectic-hipsteresq-sudo vegetarian cafe...dime a dozen ;)
It's been done before, but they pull it off pretty well...not as good as some I assure you (Everybody's Cafe in Stroudsburg, PA or Sesame Seed in Danbury, CT).
I took no issue with the spotty service some have complained about, I was waited on very attentively, by a very pleasent girl/woman. Granted it was a Thursday evening, so maybe a Sunday breakfast rush might transform that same mild-mannered girl/woman into the oblivious sour-puss some of you have described. Pick your battles folks, if you go to a little cafe on a weekend, expecting no wait times and top notch service from college kids...you're an ass.
The food was good, noting to write home about...I will leave it at that, and hold reservation to change that statement at a later date, SINCE I was too full to try some of the amazing looking bakery goods. I did have the vegan 3 bean chili though, and it was quite nice. They had a burritto special, where you can choose five items off the omlete/scramble additions list for the filling, along with egg. I opted for some veg, and asked if they could sub egg for tofu scramble...they could and did, for an extra charge mind you, but the fact that they are flexible like that makes me happy.
Lot's to choose from off the menu, it's also a plus breakfast can be had during dinner hours.
If I am back in the area again, I might go back, not sure yet...depends on how badly those blueberry scones are callig my name.

Stumbled upon this place one evening after working in the area a few years back, lucky find.
It was a pleasant evening, so we sat outside at the larger wooden family-style picnic tables.
There seemed to be a bunch of locals, with their kids, and dogs which really set the relaxed mood for this place.
We ordered up some beers and wine, from there very nice selection, and pondered over the extensive menu. All of it looked so good, wonderful home-style uber comfort food. The food was great, and it really made for a fun evening.
Haven't set food inside the place, but I am sure it's just as nice.

Well, I haven't actually eaten much here but an appetizer of plantains...but it's getting 4 stars for it's awesome mojitos, offered by the pitcher! We had 3, between 3 of us...enough said.
Amazing!
This cozy little joint is a place I always stop when in town.
I love walking into the wood laden bar area, the smells just overwhellmingly wonderfully. As you make your way back into the dining area, you can almost always notice a Jager being poured at the bar, and the wait staff carrying out a large animal carcass...I love it.
The decor is uber hunter cabin-esq, with dead animals and old world artwork furnishing the walls. The food is authentic, and decedant, great comfort food for a half kraut like myself. Excellent beer and wine selection...and awesome desserts. I know there is a beergarden of sorts out back, but I don't think I have ever been out there.

Well, I happen to get to agree with the other hundred plus folks about Vegetarian House...it's amazing.
Rivals...and I hate to say it...some of my favorite veg Asian spots in NYC or Philly.
Quiet atmosphere, great food, and killer desserts.
Oh, and the Supreme Master herself ;)
Go Veg, go green, sabe the planet! Hehe...but seriously...hehe.

It was the night prior to my family flying out of town, headed back home, and I was craving some Cuban-style food for take away.
The decor is simple, but quaint, just warm enough to feel kind of at home. The owner looks to be a runner, as the walss are adorned with numerous half/full marathon placards, which appealed to me greatly.
The two servers I dealt with we wonderful...not only humoring me in my half-assed attempts in Spanish, but also suggesting some amazing dishes. Some of which I had had, and some I had not.
Ended up with way too much food...shouldn't have gone in hungry ;)
Ropa vieja, maduros, plantanos, frijoles negra/roja, sandwich Cubano, tamales Cubano, mofongo, yuca, flan, tres leches...ay dios mio!
All of it was amazingly good, and in a very poor showing, the five of us hardly put away half of it.
Nicely priced as well.
Next time, I'd like to eat in, and enjoy the ambiance.
Only gripe, and I cannot hold it against the establishment, as something is always lost in take away...the Cuban sandwiches were a tad dry, and the bread had lost it's crisp. I am sure eating it in, freshly made it would have been a different story.
