Copeland's Cheesecake Bistro

Could've been 4 stars but service was so slow. It wasn't too packed and it was in the middle of the day.  Our waitress spent more time up at the register talking to other waiters than tending to us.  Our dishes were good, though, with big portions.  The menu is large. If you've been to the cheesecake factory, then it'll be familar to you.  However there is one favorite dish of mine at the factory that is not on this menu. But as far as the dessert, I actually prefer these cheesecake flavors to those at the factory.  And they add little extra shots of chocolate and design on the plates.

I can't decide between 31/2 and 4 stars.  The sushi is great, but the service is really slow.  It's a little hole on the wall place with 3 tables and one waitress.  There is a back room you can give them notice for a party, but  prepared to wait for service.  The sushi is great, probably the best unagi and spicy tuna I've had. The spice has a kick to it, more so than other places. My friend I was with agreed that it was just the perfect spice - not too weak and not too spicy.  This place is also definitely authentic. The owner is a Japanese man with long pointy beard who cracks jokes and drinks with patrons. He even has the bandana going.

The other yelper is correct when saying the space is friggin awesome.  But the space is also friggin EMPTY!  The artistic decor didn't match the clothes. The clothes were pretty boring for the space.  And there were so few of them.  They ARE very expensive.  Is the price supposed to make up for substance? So my 2 stars are for style and decor of the store and the employees only.  Drewlewis also focuses on menswear, so I didn't find anything in the small ladies collection.  Plus everything was in a size 2, and I haven't worn a size 2 since the 6th grade.

I happened to stumble on this place because a friend of mine asked me to go to yoga class with her right next door.  I would've never found it otherwise.  I'm glad I did see it, though. What a gem of place!  The clothing and jewelry and bags in here are absolutely beautiful - very worthy of a In Style magazine cover.  The necklaces and neck pieces are STUNNING.  However, things are pretty pricey - as mentioned in other reviews.  The is the place to buy something for you to celebrate your birthday or a promotion.  Not for a gift for a co-worker.  I have my eye on a hot pink skirt I think was about $150.00.  So I'm going to have to go back to see if they have a sale!

Warning! There's a lot going on in this store, so you cannot possibly go through everything quickly. They sell one-of-a-kind items; some new, but mostly vintage and antique.  Pieces range from coats to sweaters, to purses to jewelry to shoes.  I am the kind of shopper that buys what's put together for me- off the rack- so a store like this would make my brain burst trying to find things that go with other things. This is not a store for "oufits"; however there are very beautiful dresses and jackets.  I saved the best detail for last - you name your own price!  The manager says they don't have sales because of the uniqueness of the items, so you can haggle.  I do not  have experience haggling for fashion, so I was didn't buy anything, But I am going back to snag a great holiday purse I saw - when I get brave.

I will definitely come back to this place.  It's a great little local spot for a quick gourmet sandwich, breakfast, or pastry. I tried the bratwurst , the ham and cheese croissant and the turkey sandwich.  I was expecting sandwiches I could make easily at home, with not much flair- but not so!  The were very tasty and had their own twists to them.  For example, bleu cheese added to the turkey sandwich and the fresh-baked breads on the others were perfectly soft on the inside and crispy on the outside.  I was able to switch out to whatever bread I wanted.  I also like how the place is casual with a warehouse feel, almost industrial. Like you're in a real back shop!

I was walking around Decatur with a friend checking out the bookstores when we decided to eat lunch here. The food and drinks were really cheap and good, especially the beignets. Yes, we are far from New Orleands and the beignets were surprisingly good.  It was open mic night that time, so I didn't realize Eddie's Attic was a historic spot for live music.  So I went back to check out Texas band Jack- O- Pierce.  The performance was awesome.  Small, intimate, and unplugged. It's live music in the purest form.  The room is very crowded, so I would pay the extra money for the table. We stood in the back even though we got there early because it was so packed, but we still could see and hear perfectly.  JOP really played to the crowd and were surprisingly funny.  Although I hadn't been a JOP fan since college, I'm in love all over again!

Walking by you would never know this is a 100+ year old hotel. Until you walk inside and see the balconies and chandaliers. There is a difference in ambiance between eating inside and outside.  We ate inside. It's not a quaint, romantic setting even with the low lighting and bottles of champaign displayed in the window.  The two-seater tables were large and because the space is so old, it's very loud inside. It's a great restaurant for big parties.  The crowd is a little older, but it goes with the ambiance.  Pictures of rat pack-era bands doesn't really scream modern.  Now for the food... four words:  melt in your mouth.  We tried the duck croquettes with rasberry sauce for appetizer, atlantic halibut, and berkshire pork for entree. All was scrumptious and perfect.  The waiter was very helpful with wine choices and with dinner choices. He was spot on.  I just wish I had room for dessert.

You don't have to be a die-hard jazz fan to appreciate this little place.   It's an intimate setting for live music. Who doesn't like that?  You're up close and personal with the musicians and with the other tables in the room. So don't bring your gigantic purse :)  And bring breath mints because the tables are small.  You may want to get there early if you have a big party.  There were a couple unknown singers in the audience who were allowed to take the stage. And I tell you what, they were just as talented as the pros.  I even recognized a few songs they sang.  I came on a Tuesday night, so it wasn't packed. But I hear if you go on a weekend you have to have a reservation.  I'm making a reservation.

Where else can you watch the amazing Jersey Boys live on stage one week, the 20th anniversary of Do The Right Thing with Spike Lee in the audience the next week, and then attend a showing of the always- in- style Breakfast at Tiffany's another week?  It is definitely one of Atlanta's jewels.  Parking is a pain, so try to walk or take Marta.  But it's worth it.  It's a must-do for anyone living or visiting Atlanta.
