Spot Dessert Bar

The desserts combined with the ambiance here makes it a perfect after dinner place to take a date... or anyone for that matter.

This is the cutest dessert place that I've been to between California and New York. It was hard for us to find, we walked by it a couple times before realizing you had to go down stairs... tourists. -_-

Everyone was super friendly and attentive, our waitress made really good suggestions and one of the owners took time to chitchat with us about the place.

The decor is really modern and Eco friendly, all the wood in the store is recycled. There are hooks for your coats and purses, and they have a VERY CLEAN bathroom (its very tough to find a clean bathroom in NY).

I had a really pleasant experience and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting NY, hold off on dessert at your dinner destination and come by Spot for some delicious and especially UNIQUE desserts. They offer a "tapas" dessert option, and I am ALL for trying a bit of everything.

My favorite was the Yuzu Eskimo and the Condensed Milk Ice Cream... I could eat tubs of that stuff.

I have dreams about the Scallion Pancakes from Joe's Shanghai now.

Come in with low expectations for the service and you won't be so disappointed! haha.

We also had their delicious soup dumplings, generous seafood pan friend noodles, and garlic veggies. I really could have been happy with 3 orders of scallion pancakes to myself though. :]

If you're from out of town, do NOT try the Shroom Burger unless you're prepared to be disappointed by all other vegetarian burgers or grilled cheeses for the rest of your life. :[

The Shroom Burger is a hefty sized fried portobello mushroom stuffed with muenster and cheddar and is seriously heaven in your mouth, so much in fact that I had two of them during my 4 day stay in NY. Its not greasy, just cheesy, nestled in between what was the softest sweet roll, you can't even call it a bun, ever. (check out my picture and you'll just know)

The rolls aren't cut all the way through, nice surprise when you get to the end of the sandwich and everything is still held in tact.

My friends who were with me said that they liked my Shroom Burger even more than the meat burgers they were eating (we have In&Out in CA).

Their crinkly cut fries were crunchy and delicious, I could have gone without the cheese fries because of my Shroom burger, but the cheese sauce on the fries is like mac and cheese sauce, very rich.

For dessert, order the "Great White Way" frozen custard, it's the perfect accompaniment (ask for extra crispy crunchies, trust me).

Oh Shroom Burger, I'll be back for you... Someone please mail me one.

Panda Bowl

Quantity over quality here.

Noodles were rubbery, sesame chicken was soggy and over breaded, teriyaki chicken was dry and the sauce was watered down...
but at least they give you enough to last for 3 days!

I wanted to give this place a chance and prove myself wrong in thinking that it doesn't look appealing because I pass it on my way home from work everyday and consistently see people there.

Sadly, I was disappointed at the quality of food.
When in the mood, I love the convenience of take-out Chinese food, especially hole in the wall type of places but nothing here impressed me. I felt like I can get better from panda express... and that's saying a lot.

They serve reasonably priced lunch and lunch portions! This is a work-lunch friendly place. Service was good, surprisingly busy for a random Wednesday but our waiter was attentive.

Good for people to share a bunch of things.. hot wings, burgers, meat, fries, cheese breads, salads, and pot pies.. for lunch? Awesome.

Kula Sushi Bar

This place is fun! The speed that the sushi revolves around the conveyer belt makes you want to eat faster.. or maybe it's just me. $2 a plate and you can try a bunch of different things. Good for hungry groups.

Service goes as far as greeting you, filling up your water cup, and taking away your plate covers. It's self serve.

The food is okay, the only thing that makes me question this place is  you can never tell how long something has been revolving around and around before you grab it. They have covers on it so you can't really tell. I was very unhappy with the sushi rice, some fell apart while some were too clumpy and sticky, I started eating everything without the rice...

Pay attention to what they're putting out and watch for what you grab, be patient!

Albacore, salmon skin roll, and spider roll weren't worth it.
Seared salmon belly, crispy rice with spicy salmon, soy/sake marinated tuna + albacore, and crunchy spicy tuna were the only things that stuck out to me. Enjoy getting dizzy!

Always a nice generic lunch place for my coworkers and I, the only thing is..
they're usually two hour lunches if we go with more than 4 people.
You have to ask for bread now.

Sicilian Pizza - thin crust chewy not too crunchy, tons of delicious meat, fresh basil (ask for extra)
BBQ Chicken Pizza - Chicken can be dry sometimes but its good
Champagne vinagrette is delicious

I'm kind of sad that this place doesn't have more reviews.
Okay, so I don't know too much about Mexican food but I like this place.
The decor is really outdated but the service is good and the food comes out piping hot.

The crab enchiladas are really good and fish tacos are my favorite. They're not really fish filets.. it's shredded fish? On a deliciously crunchy taco with fresh pico. I've also had their whole fried fish with garlic butter, so good.. so bad for you. Rice + beans is a little too much for me sometimes so I opt for a side salad.

Free, and very addictive, chips and salsa.
You can order a quart of the salsa togo, and yes, I've done it.

I will always love Kyochon wings. I was incredibly excited when I saw that they had one in Cerritos mall but was weary at how long the wait would be.

Big giant thumbs up for their consistency, everything tastes the same as if I were to get it at the restaurant... thumbs down for their work flow.

The girl at the register clearly needed help. She was ringing people up, slowly, and then was even slower getting drinks before the next customer while 2 other workers were standing around doing nothing. There were already 2 other cooks in the back preparing the food. No excuses but it wasn't her fault.

They had fresh samples out for the customers waiting though. They have buzzers here to call you when your food is ready.. takes about 20 minutes.. probably more time than any of the other places in the food court. Not going to lie, I'll come back either way.
Ginger soy + spicy wings + potato wedges + honey mustard sauce.
Done deal.

The Crema Café

I ordered the pesto chicken crepe and it was DEEEELICIOUS!
Chicken was moist, caramelized onions complimented everything, pesto was not too salty, very rich though.

The crepe itself was soft and fluffy with a slight chew but the edges had delicate toasted parts of crunchy cheese. Genius. I could eat the crepe just by itself.. but why not add all this goodness to it?! Crinkle cut sweet potato fries? Yes please.

The couple next to me got a pancake the size of Hawaii. I'd like to try that next time I come back for a nice Sunday brunch. Good service, crowded, but they give free coffee to while you wait for a table.
