I wanted to stop by Always In Stitches next door, but they didn't open until 10a, so we popped into Ginger's for breakfast.  The place is cute with quilts on the walls and mismatched tables and chairs.  We weren't very hungry so we asked if we could each order just 1 pancake and split hashed browns, the server teased us saying there was no way they could do that and shaking her head obviously.  As far as vegan & vegetarian options, they had salads, but everything else either has cheese or egg.  Grilled cheese, omelettes, spinach melt, veggie quiche, french toast and pancakes.  Our two pancakes and hashed browns were less than $5 by the way.

Friends took my husband and I here last Saturday knowing we love international stuff.  It reminded me of Jungle Jim's International Market back in Cincinnati, so I'm happy there's a replacement.  It's 45 minutes from our current location, but we plan to move in further eventually.  They had Korean food items I hadn't found anywhere else and a nice vegetable selection.  I bought their jarred kimchi (vegetarian/no fish sauce & no MSG) and simmered tofu, both of which were pretty tasty for store bought.  The place is big and organized by item, not location the way Jungle Jim's is.  This way is better because you find other items you didn't know about!

I had read this place had vegetarian haggis and several other veg items so I had this on my to-do list.  We were heading downtown for another reason and made a side trip here for lunch.  I'm glad we went first time on a Sunday for lunch because parking was free and no one was smoking (it's a smoking establishment).  My husband and I shared the vegetarian haggis sampler and a cup of the vegetarian Scotch onion soup. Our friend had the veggie club sandwich with fries.  All of the food was good and so was the service.  They have a few more veg options so I can see us going back again a few more times.

Stopped in for lunch on my second day since moving to Indy. There were 19 items on lunch buffet and only 4 weren't vegetarian! All the items I ate we're really tasty and creamy.  They even brought a basket of hot, fresh naan rather than a tray of it on the buffet.  It was delicious!  The decor was cool too! Metal art on the walls that looks like stylized cityscapes and a fabric draped ceiling.  I want to take my husband soon!

Just moved to Indy and this is the first Korean place we went.  The lady who served us was awesome! I would go back just to talk to her! The food was good too.  On top of the banchan she also brought us a vegetable pajon (pancake).  When I told her I had an interest in Korean language, dramas and music she said things to me on Korean and told me  the reply.  She cracked me up saying I was a stalker because I know when Lee Jun Ki gets out of the army :D  My husband got tofu steak with cheese, which I thought was gross, but he liked (I don't think tofu and cheese should go together). I got dol sot bi Bim bap with tofu instead of meat. All good!

I love Melt, so of course I love Picnic and Pantry!  The great part about this place is if Melt is super crowded/you're in a hurry/you want to just take something home, you can run in and buy select items from the cooler.  They even have the house seitan so you can make your own custom burgers in your kitchen (not as good, but still cool).  I wish I lived in walking distance.

Thought I'd update my review now that we're vegan.  They have a veggie burrito with rice & beans you can ask for without cheese.  There are veggie fajitas on the lunch menu, but we haven't had that yet.

If you like El Rancho Grande in Sharonville, their food is similar.  I love their salsa, it's the non-chunky variety that is super spicy.
They have all the normal offers as far as the menu.  When I ate meat, my favorite was the nachos that has shrimp, beef, chicken and drizzled queso. Wow it was yummy!  They have vegetarian offers too, cheese or bean burritos, quesadillas, enchiladas.
They have drink specials Mon - Weds.

This is my new favorite Japanese restaurant!  I recommend going for lunch because you pay half the cost of the same portion.  They also have donburi on the lunch menu that is not on the dinner menu.  There are two vegan donburi (Ankake-don & curry-don), a vegan bento box and vegan sushi.  I'm drooling just thinking about their food.

Melt is THE restaurant for Cincinnati. Just about anyone could find something they'd like here unless all they eat is steak n potatoes (you know the type).  Now that I'm vegan, I eat here even more often because there are so many delicious options.  My favorite, which I tend to get every time despite all the options, is half-sies of the custom burger made with seitan, vegan cheezy sauce, vegan mayo & the vegan caeser salad with tofu strips. OMG BEST EVER! My husband gets the vegan coney often. It's a fake hot dog, vegan chili, spicy mustard, etc served open face.  It's a huge coney.  Try their Sunday brunch, lots of vegan options then too including biscuits & gravy.

Sandwiches, soups and salads, any of it can be made vegetarian or maybe vegan...salads and sandwiches at least.  Yesterday my boyfriend and I went there and got half-sies of sandwiches and soups.  I had the three cheese sandwich with white asparagus soup. My boyfriend has the Veggie cheese steak with vegan chili.  We both loved our food! They have sodas that use cane sugar in their fridge cases and yummy deserts.  Lots of seating including a patio.  The selection is wonderful!  I recommend to anyone!

Update - 6/24/2009
We went again recently and I am up in the air about this aquarium.  The price went up again, it's now $20 per adult.  I ended up buying memberships because they're $38, so one more trip and they're paid for.
Most of my original complaints still stand, but the newer additions help.  The new Jellyfish gallery is wonderful!  The frog bog is pretty cool too.

When Newport Aquarium opened it was amazing!  Over the years all the things I loved about it have changed or disappeared.  The once colorful reef is now brown and dead looking.  They used to be good about the tank labels, but the 2 times I've been there this past year they either had labels for things that weren't there or things without labels. My favorite fish were bumblebee goby (label still there, but fish long gone), wolf eel (gone), cuttlefish (gone), porcupine puffer fish (still there), lookdown (still there), flashlight fish (gone), arowana (gone).
I agree with other reviews that it is too expensive.  When I loved the place and went multiple times a year, the pass was worth the cost.  A single ticket used to be $13 now it's $19, which is unreasonable.  I think it's gone downhill, but the prices keep rising.  I haven't seen the new frog bog yet and maybe kids or people who don't visit too many aquariums would like it.
