This places is awesome.  It's locally owned and operated by a family;  all of the pastries are baked fresh, in-house daily.  The best part -- they have GLUTEN FREE pastries that are DELICIOUS!

They also have great hot chocolate, coffee, tea, free wi-fi, awesome outdoor seating... this is my new coffee shop.

Parking is so simple on larchmont, and there is plenty of room to study here.  I love the atmosphere, the friendly service, the great prices...

I'm a little scared to Yelp this because I don't want it to be too well known...

If I could give this place 1.5 stars, I would.  The flourless chocolate cake saved it from one star -- that was the only redeeming quality.

My friend and I went here to check out the gluten free menu, and it was pretty bad.  They brought us out mashed potatoes made with flour, even though they were on the gluten free menu.  The chicken santa rosa was drowning in sauce and was very tough -- maybe it was leftover chicken since normally they dust their chicken with flour.  The waiter brought us out a bowl of Pomodoro...without the risotto.  He wasn't familiar with the gluten free menu, even though it said right on it that Pomodoro Risotto is safe for Celiacs.  When we explained this to him, he was confused.  He also charged us for that bowl of Pomodoro sauce ($14.99!!) until we explained to him that we would not be paying for it.

All in all, extremely disappointing.  The risotto, once it was brought out, was not very good.  Risotto is naturally gluten free so this is the same risotto as is on the regular menu... so they didn't even need to make any special modifications to it.

Very bland, expensive, bad parking.  I don't think I will return.

This place is awesome.  The portions are huge and not overpriced.  The atmosphere is cozy.

When I asked about them preparing a dish without soy sauce, they were very friendly and helpful about doing so.  I had a great experience here and will definitely make this my local WeHo sushi place!

It isn't a scene at all, so if you're looking for that try Koi or Katsuya or a similar place.

This is the best yogurt place in LA.  The flavors are amazing and constantly rotating!!

They also leave out sample cups so that you can sample as many flavors as you want.  This is a serve-yourself place (similar to YogurtLand) and they have some CRAZY toppings going on (crushed red velvet cupcakes, sour neon gummy worms).

All in all, my favorite froyo place in L.A.

Medici Apartments

One of the worst decisions of my life to live here.

The good: great pool, gym, easy freeway access.

The bad: oh where do I begin?
1) how about with the absolutely, inordinately inept staff at The Medici.  They wouldn't know what a football was unless it hit them smack dab in the face at least 7 times -- they are literally that clueless.  It's like The Medici has 8 eights going, none of which knows what the others are doing.  It makes for an extremely painful moveout process.

2) speaking of the moveout/movein -- they have NO freight/cargo elevator.  This makes for an extremely frustrating move in with most of your average sized furniture.  Also they were EXTREMELY unfriendly to me as I moved in and out -- saying that we weren't allowed to use the lobby entrance and instead had to use a garage on 7th street for our move-in/out needs.  Yet they wouldn't give us access to that garage.  Does this make any sense to you?  I didn't think so.  They repeatedly told us we couldn't use the lobby -- whatever dudes, we have to move in and out somehow.

3)  there is only ONE elevator per side (there is an A side and a B side to the Medici, connected by an over-street bridge).  This makes for frustratingly long wait times.

4) The pool is often unclean along with the hot tub.

5) So many dumb beezies in this place (i.e. FIDM students) who have no respect for anyone.

6) Remember that easy freeway access I mentioned?  yeah, well that backfires from the hours of 4pm-7pm, when Bixel and the surrounding streets are extremely backed up as everybody tries to get onto the 110 South.  Good luck getting into your apartment building in those hours -- it's always a struggle.

Seriously, STAY AWAY FROM THE MEDICI.  I have so many more stories -- the times I didn't receive packages (yes, times, as in PLURAL), the times my roommate didn't receive packages (again, plural).  There were work order requests that I put in upon moving in that were STILL not complete upon moving out.

Just utterly ridiculous.  I would never live in The Medici or any of those other buildings again.  The Medici also isn't in the heart of downtown -- you have to cross over the freeway to get there.

If I could, I would give the Medici .5 stars.

great place in West L.A., like a little whole foods!  the prepared foods here are delicious.  My friend took me to lunch here during a break from work -- I went for the "you choose 3" salad special and mixed their salmon + edamame with green bean chicken and topped it off with some balsamic soaked carrots.  needless to say, it was delicious!

the service is very good here; my only issue with this place is parking/seating.  there is a lot near clementine but there are very few spaces, and seating is VERY limited in the restaurant.  maybe it was just busy because I went during the lunch hour?

eh, this place was OK, but nothing special.  honestly, I'd prefer to go to mani's -- more of a homey feel and less frou-frou.  The food was also better at Mani's (and better priced, even though Mani's is no cheap deal).

Parking at Mani's is also WAY easier, with a lot behind the restaurant!

The food was really delicious and the drinks were adequately strong.  What was really lacking, however, was the service.  My friend and I YELLED in unison at a waitress to get her attention with no luck.  I actually had to get up out of my seat, walk to the bar, and then get the bartender to bring the waitress over to me to get some service.

We were a large party, so she probably knew she was going to get a 20% tip anyway, but based on that I would definitely reconsider coming here with a large group.  The terrace in Century City is nice, but the service... the service was awful!

however, they were pretty good (when I got their attention) about walking me through the gluten free options.

I like this place -- the huevos rancheros were awesome and they were very helpful about choosing a gluten free option on the menu.

I've docked it two stars because a) the bathroom is disgusting and b) the service was fair to poor.

But, on the plus side, it's open until 4am every night, so it's a great late-night spot.

I really like this place, and my hairstylist is great (even though I forget her name right now, woops).  She has short, very dark hair and is the tallest of the women working there if that helps ya.

Anyway, I like this place.  My hairstylist here is a perfectionist and always makes sure to give me an even cut -- I've experienced enough disasters at barbershops to know that this is no guarantee.

It is also reasonably priced and I can walk there from my apartment.  I will say, though, that my female roommate HATES this place and swears all day long that they cannot do an appropriate women's haircut.  So ladies, be warned!
