The owners seemed to have some regulars there that they were chatting with, and though it was our first time there, they made an effort to get to know us as well, thanking us for dining there and to let them know if there is anything they can improve in their food or service. You can tell they take a lot of pride in their business, which I'll be happy to support in the future.

The young lady working at the register was very sweet and kindly noted my various modifications to the order. The guy behind the grill was also nice and called to us at various times during the food preparation to ask if we needed this or that. They packed us free hot chips for our to-go order, which went great with the tangy green salsa from the bar.

I was pretty disappointed in the gnocchi. They pretty much just smashed up in your mouth like balls of mealy mush; I prefer my gnocchi with a little more springiness and bite. The gnocchi themselves looked like the kind you buy in a vacuum pack at the store, not the hand-made pillows you get at other places where they roll the fresh dough into logs and chop it. The meat sauce that topped it was ordinary.
The chicken alla Sodini was good, though: a thinly pounded breast, chargrilled and topped with thin slices of ham, cheese, and a cream sauce. Rich and tasty with very buttery sides of polenta and a vegetable medley.
The last dish is probably not enough to make me return, especially with the not-so-great gnocchi. It's ok, it looks like they have enough of a following anyway.

Very relaxed dining atmosphere, with good lighting, low volume instrumental music, and impressive wine displays along the bar. Refined, but definitely not pretentious.
We sampled one of the Rieslings, which tasted kind of like ice wine, but refreshing nonetheless. The crabcake appetizer is sizable for 2, meaty, and crisp with a nice accompanying salad. I really enjoyed my sizzling cornish hen and was surprised by the portion for the price. The bird was succulent with crunchy skin and a very tasty, not-too-sweet glaze. My bf ordered the braised beef with baguette which was also delicious and so tender that it peeled apart with the gentle tug of a fork.
The service is friendly and attentive. The waitress smiled when she took away our plates because they were completely empty except for the hen bones (I couldn't finish my food so my bf polished off both our plates). She probably thought, 'damn, that girl was hungry!'
Anyway, we hope they stick around cause we'll be back. Give it a try yourself!
The shaking beef with tomato rice seems relatively pricey ($13) compared to the other dishes, but it is so worth it as the quality and quantity of the beef is excellent. Tender and flavorful atop a mound of fresh garden greens.
My bf ordered the fried Thai prawns over egg noodles and it was delicious! The dish had a very unique lemon-grass/tamarind flavor that is unlike any other I have tried. The prawns are huge and perfectly crispy.
The other family members ordered pho (beef, chicken), rice plates, and vermicelli bowls with no complaints.
The service was really attentive in the beginning but towards the end they forgot about us and our waitress left in a hurry out the door and never came back after we asked for the bill, so we had to go up and ask someone else at the cashier.
Other than that, a good experience with quality food. I'll be back.
