I go to Maggie's Magic Muffins at least once a week.  The muffins are gigantic, seriously, biggest muffins I've ever seen.  And they have all kinds of awesome flavors from the original blueberry and banana nut to the new and exciting pumpkin cheesecake and peaches and cream.  The muffins all have cool names too, mostly from classic rock (my favorite is the Miss American Pie-an apple and cinnamon muffin with real apple chunks baked in).  Then on top of the amazing muffins, they have great coffee and specialty drinks.  I had an awesome vanilla latte the other day, it was so big I couldn't even finish it!  And the lunch options...oh my goodness.  Great, inventive sandwiches and salads.  My favorite salad-Maggie's Salad.  It's greens, bleu cheese, cheddar cheese, fresh veggies in season (mine had tomatoes, roasted red peppers, cucumbers), a scoop of homeade egg salad, and their own homeade tuna vinagrette.  The paninis are so good too.  It's really great, fast, and cheap.  
You can also order baskets of their muffins ranging in price from $27 to $120 (that's the Presidential basket...it's huge!) and they deliver or ship.  I sent one back home to my mom; she got it 2 days after I ordered it, and said the muffins were soft, moist, and fresh, like they'd just been baked.  I love Maggie's!

Love it, love it, love it!  It looks like a teeny tiny place from the outside, being in a strip mall and all, but once inside you see that it's actually quite roomy.  The service is great.  The servers have absolutely no problem explaining any menu item to any inexperienced diners.  The food is amazing and inexpensive, the portions are large, and the people are wonderful.  I recently took my inlaws who came for a visit; they are all-American, burger and fries or steak and potato kind of people, and they both really truly enjoyed it.  The kibbie (almost like hush puppy breading stuffed with seasoned ground beef) is so flavorful and the right amount of juiciness.  The grape leaves are lemony and light, stuffed with just the right amount of filling.  The tabuli (parsley salad) is not too bitter with just the right amount of onions and seasoning.  And oh, my, gosh, the hot tea...crazy good.  Sweet and warms you up just right.  I could honestly eat here almost every day!  Go, seriously, you need to go!

The only thing I can think of when people tell me that Jay's is amazing is that they've never been outside of the northeastern Ohio area.  Amazing?  Um, no not exactly.  How about greasy, small, flavorless, stale buns, I could cook a better hotdog at home in less time and with less money?  That's more like it.

Harry and Jean's is definitely and upscale restaurant for the area; however, my family and I went in jeans and flip-flops and didn't feel ostracized.  The menu is one of the most extensive in the area with everything from traditional southern food (fried catfish or shrimp and grits) to great steaks to regular old sandwiches (the reuben is great!).  The Portugese corn bread they serve at the beginning is really good, and I've never had anything there I didn't like.  Out of all the restaurants in the area that I've tried thus far, it's definitely in my top 3.

Please help me if this is the best Mexican in Y-town!  I know that I moved here from a town with some of the best Mexican restaurants ever, but if this is all I've got, I don't know what to do...take a trip to Mexico, maybe.  Bland, bland, bland, greasy, greasy, greasy.  Those are the best six words to describe my experience at Los Gallos.  The only cool thing was that they serve cole slaw with the chips.  That was interesting and very good.  But the salsa tasted like marinara sauce, the chips were stale and flavorless, and my meal was so greasy that I could hardly eat it.  BIG disappointment.  I am going to keep searching because I can't believe this is the best there is!

This is honestly one of the best steakhouses in its price range  I've ever eaten at.  My husband and I jsut moved here from Indiana, and we've been sad that there's no Texas Roadhouse around here.  We decided to eat at Longhorn and give it a try.  We were not disappointed.  The bread is warm and soft on the inside (although not as good as Texas Roadhouse's 1000 calorie rolls), the salad was good and loaded with all kinds of goodies (although again, not as good at Texas Roadhouse's), and our entree was amazing (definitely better than Texas Roadhouse's entrees).  Our steak was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy, and seasoned so perfectly.  The crab and shripm au gratin was amazing; I think an artery clogged while eating it!  I had a blackberry and peach margarita, and it was amazing...and huge!  We then had the chocolate dessert.  O-M-G!  Not the best chocolate dessert I've ever had but so huge, my husband and I took half of it home.  Plus, the mousse parts of the dessert were amazing.  We will definintely return as soon as the craving for an awesome steak comes back.

Like a previous yelper stated, it is completely safe.  Although I think that the previous yelper offended Ruby Tuesday, TGI Fridays, and Applebee's by putting them in the same category as Rockne's.  Rockne's is definitely a step below those other places.  The food was so bland, I honestly didn't know what I was eating.  As a foody, I normally remember what I ate at restaurants.  No clue what I had at Rockne's.  Completely unmemorable, completely plain, completely boring.  We won't be back.

So good!  I'm pretty sure that the pizza has provolone as well as mozzarella on it, so it gives each bite this little kick.  The calzones...YUM!  And the dessert options, love it.  They have elephant ears, I mean, c'mon!  The breadsticks are terrible though, just literally sticks of flavorless, unbuttered cooked dough.  Everything else though, great!

With all the other amazing italian restaurants here in the Youngstown area, Carabba's pales in comparison.  The food was average, nothing more, nothing less.  It was definitely overpriced for the quality of food though.  I would rather go to Nicolini's or Cafe Capri any day.  The only amazing thing was the desert I had.  It was white cake with lots of fresh fruit and a whipped cream icing.  Everything else, boring.

I am a HUGE fan of Italian eateries, and I try all of them that I can.  Hands down, Nicolini's is the best in the area.  The food is authentic, the pasta and sauce are made fresh daily, I can't get enough of it!  I was first taken to Nicolini's when I came to the area for a job interview, and I've been back multiple times since.  I get the chicken penne with greens...it's a-m-a-z-i-n-g!  I've also had the cavatapi, pork chops, salmon, spaghetti, it's all good.  The bread is so soft and flavorful, and the meals are so huge that I always take over half home (and I'm a big eater!).  People-go to Nicolini's!
