Great happy hour specials during the week and you can buy (and drink) from the perfectly stocked fridges.

On a four day trip to NYC, went here twice.

If I am in the Inner Sunset and need of a drink I will most likely hit up the Blackthorn.
They have an open air patio (which is rare in San Francisco) and they are dog friendly. (My cat Asha would not like it as she does not share my approval of dogs)
Good selection of beer at a good price and they are cool with bringing in food stuff.

Gabby does a good job of running a boot camp at a decent hour.
Gets me to focus on the stuff I do not like doing (running up hills), quickness drills etc that makes it easier when I am running I am less daunted by hills.

I needed brunch to be good or at least not bring about a reflection of sadness and poor choices.
This was so much better than the last time my droogs and I did the brunch thing where they made the mimosa with tampico (Ironside did not)
Like the layout and the decor.
I opted for the Bloody Mary over the Mimosa and I actually had to tell the guy not to make it so strong for the second one.
Food was very solid and we were not rushed. Great service. No tampico in site.

So my initial review got flagged because the last time I was there, it was closed (it was Sunday)
So I will review the time that I actually was in the Pennsylvania Dutch Farmer's Market.
If you are in/around do not eat breakfast or get coffee prior.
Everything they do is Amazing, who knew the Amish make amazing doughnuts?

This place is in walking distance of my place but I think I will make the extra trek based on my last experience.
On occasion I may go into a bar/restaurant and order their happy hour appetizer. Sometimes I order a drink, sometimes I do not.
Doing a run in Daly City and I saw they had $2 appetizers.

It was Friday afternoon so I walked over. Sat down at the end of the bar and ordered the $2 appetizer sampler. I ordered an Ice Water.
The food was OK (based on the food it may get 2 stars)
The bill came, it was $2.17 and I left a tip (a 120% tip!!)

Got up to leave. When I was outside the manager came running outside. For a second I thought that someone had taken my $5 bill.

No, this was not the case. The manager said, "the next time you come in could you order a drink". He then clarified that soda would satisfy this unwritten rule of Celia's. This was so his restaurant could make more money.

The two of us were standing in front of the sign advertising the happy hour specials and no where did it state, drink purchase required so I asked him to point it out on the sign and he could not and said something about changing it.

I was impressed with the quick chain of communication (from the bartender to the manager and his decision that this was worth chasing me into the parking lot)

I would have understood if they had a free happy hour buffet and I was not spending any money or they had a sign that clearly stated happy hour specials must be ordered with a drink, fine but this was not the case.

Your food was mediocre and you did not earn extra points on the service.

Finally Google + was useful.
Saw a friend post pictures and the food looked good.

Before kickball playoffs wanted to get a quick meal so I ordered their version of a Burrito bowl and it was quite good.

Two things I really liked
1) self serve water/soda water (I drink a lot of water and do not like bothering the staff)
2) Amazing selection of self serve salsa.

I am not sure what the Grid is but considering how good (and inexpensive) Off the Grid is, I am guessing that the Grid is stupid.

This is my favorite off the grid as I do not like waiting in long queues.

My favorite place is Curry in a Hurry.

A group of us have been going here for lunch about once every three months.
This two star review is based on the last visit. The service was good and so was the food but the Mimosas were well awful.
Had a group of about 22.

Most of us ordered Mimosas and when I tasted it I thought I was an astronaut because it tasted like Tang. (do they still make tang?)

Later I saw they were making the Mimosa (which should be a mix between orange juice and champagne) with Tampico which is about 1% juice and a whole light of high fructose corn syrup.
Tampico does not equal Orange Juice.
This would be the equivalent of ordering crab cakes and discovering that they were that horrible faux crab meat.

I am OK and on board with the orange juice not being fresh squeezed or even from the carton or concentrate but fake Orange Juice? Who thought that was a solid business move?

The next time we do a group brunch Barracuda will most likely not be considered.
Skip the faux-Mimosa.

Went to the Mission with one of my planned stops being the Pi Bar.
If you are looking for a great sports bar with loads of TV to watch Sports Ball with an extensive Nacho and stuff menu, then I would skip this place as you will be sad.
This place does a couple things very well, beer and pizza and they do not try to sell you on the "well we have personal pizza" nonsense.
A Beer and a slice, $6.28 is a good deal, and they do not give attitude about paying with a credit card (I hate places with oddball prices that with tax its $3.08 and then they are cash only and I think, well I am not coming here again)
I like the lack of TV's. Every bar does not have to have ten tv's in every direction playing sports center.
Loved the elephant on one of the doors but I like (as does everybody) elephants.
