Love the new Jewish Mother!  Somehow, they were able to create a new restaurant, but still keep the "divey" feel of the old place on Laskin Road.  There are 2 large bars, a HUGE stage, great acoustics, and an updated menu with all the JM classics!  The front still has a great dessert display too!  The service was great, the food was fantastic and the atmosphere was terrific.  Can't wait to go back!

Great pub atmosphere and awesome beer selection.  The new breakfast service is unique and much needed in Blacksburg.  I definitely recommend the hash brown casserole - it's amazing.

My only complaint is I have yet to get a Guinness that has been poured properly.  Guinness shouldn't be offered on tap if the bartender does not know how to dispense it properly.

We have a 1948 Chevy Truck.  Needless to say, it's NOT easy to have the truck serviced.  I emailed Harvey's and promptly received a call back where they asked a few questions and made an appt. for us to bring the truck in for service.  I can't say enough good things about their service department.  While our truck was there, Dennis called with daily updates and didn't perform any service without check with us first.  The prices were fair and the estimates were on target.  We will definitely bring our business back to Harvey's.

They were ok taking care of our cats, but not ok with our dog.  We were on vacation and our dog was boarded at a kennel.  While we were away, the kennel called to tell us our dog was uncharacteristically lethargic and they were bringing him to N. Main Clinic.  The vet called us a little while later to tell us he had run some tests and wouldn't know for sure until the results came back, but he "thought" our dog had leukemia and even went so far as to discuss the reatment options for leukemia.  Obviously, this upset us greatly and we canceled the rest of our vacation and left to drive home the next day.  About 2 hours from home, we get a call from the kennel saying that the vet called and our dog was ready for them to pick up.  Totally confused, we called N. Main to find out what was going on.  We were told that our dog was being released but the girl we spoke with didn't know why and would have someone call us "later".  Since we were so close to home, we asked the kennel not to pick him up, that we would do it in person.  When we got to N. Main, the vet tech came out to tell us that his blood work was just fine and that he probably just had a reaction to his vaccinations.  That was it.  No apology for telling us our dog had leukemia, ruining our vacation...nothing.  We now take our pets elsewhere.

We've been sending our dog here for daycare and boarding for about 1 1/2 years.  The facility is wonderful, the staff is caring and I can't say enough good things.  Most importantly, our dog LOVES coming here!  He gets to have playtime, nap time, snack time - it's like preschool for dogs!  As a bonus, Flying Fur also has a "Barking Bus" that will pick up your dog in the morning from your home and/or drop him off in the evening.  This service has been such a convenience for us!  They also provide nail trimming services.  It's just a fabulous place!!!!!

Now that they have moved to a new location, THIS is the Sycamore Deli I remember so fondly!  Creative sandwiches, cool environment...nice!

We've tried 3 times to like this repair department.  They have failed each time.  Like the previous poster, we too had an issue with the parts not being ordered ahead of time for our scheduled repair.  Our vehicle was never ready when they said it would be done.  The final straw was after the last service, the manager "scolded" us for not replacing the timing belt as they recommended.  If they had bothered to keep accurate records (or look at our records), they would have seen that THEY replaced our timing belt during our last service.  We were also told that we had a cracked steering console and our vehicle was unsafe to drive.  Repair estimate was over $1200.  Took it to another repair shop and it wasn't cracked, it had a loose part and the repair was $125.

Love this place.  Cool atmosphere - friendly service.  A great place to meet friends or have a business meeting.  I'm not a coffee drinker so I can't tell you if the coffee is good or not (it smells good!).  Their tea is VERY good though and so are their breakfast offerings.  Why didn't I give it 5 stars?  I don't like the location - the shopping center is awkward.  Yes, that's lame for me to say....but I just don't like the shopping center.  I wish it were in a place with better people watching.

Gillie's is a Blacksburg staple.  It's casual and eclectic.  Sometimes, the service is great.  Sometimes, it's not so great.  The food, however, is usually very, very good.  Breakfast is fantastic and their little outside tables are great for people-watching.  I love their flavored iced tea too!

This is, by far, my favorite HD store.  The majority of the employees are helpful, friendly and seem to really appreciate your business.  Here's an example of their service:  my Mom needed a new vacuum cleaner and wanted a Dyson.  We looked online and found the vacuum she wanted in stock at the HD in Christiansburg.  We drove over, walked in the front door, and an Associate greeted us at the door with, "How can we help you today?".  We told them what we wanted and he graciously escorted us to the section of the store with vacuums.  Unfortunately, the one we wanted was not visible, so he went to get help.  In about 2 minutes, he was back with 2 more Associates and they found the vacuum in the upper shelves which was quickly retrieved for us.  Then, the Associate carried the vacuum to the front of the store for us and even offered to bring it out to our car!  Before leaving, my Mom mentioned that she needed a garden flag holder.  Again, she was escorted by an Associate to the garden center to help her find what she wanted.  As we were walking out to our car, purchases in our cart, my Mom said, "I felt like we had our own personal shoppers in there!".  All Home Depot's are not the same - it's the service that makes them different.  This one is a gem!
