I planned on Dining at one of my Favorite Breakfast spots in the Village , Pink Tea Cup only to find out that it was Shut down so i explored next door at Panca since Peruvian Cuisine is one of my top favorites to try simply because of all of the flavor.

We sat down and had a Pitcher of Sangria and since it was cold we ordered a Cilantro Soup with Chicken Breasts which warmed me up and got my appetite wet enough.

We ordered the Lomo Saltado and the Jalea Mixta which was Assorted Fried SeaFood over Salsa Criolla. The Food was amazing. The Bartender/Server was working up front all alone but managed to serve four tables without a hitch. The Food was definitely tasty and the portions were pretty decent and i am glad i got to check it out since there are so many options in the Village but i will definitely be back for some more.

Was here last nite. This is my first time at the location since it used to be Geisha House. It's a very big space and they also that the Orange Lounge which is part of it and makes it very huge and big enough for parties.
We Just missed Happy Hour but prices were still reasonable. We started out with Meat Dumplings for starters.

The Waitress was very attentive and suggested a few entries from the menu. My Friend ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Bowl while i opted for a Korean Dish, Dol Sot Bi Bim Bap which the owner was surprised i knew what it was and how to prepare it when the Hot pot arrived. I told him i frequent Harry Hines Blvd a lot and then he finally backed off from me. The Bi Bim Bap was very good and i could taste the fresh veggies like the Bean Sprouts and the mushroom but the only thing that was limited was the meat but overall it was still very tasty.

for Dessert they where out of Cheesecake and Tiramisu so i was left with the option to order the Carrot Cake and the Tempura Ice Cream with Green tea flavor. The Dessert was extremely good and worth the wait.

I have seen several mixed reviews of Naan but i must add that i had a pleasant experience and will be checking out the happy hour soon.

Deep Sushi

This is one of the few real authentic sushi spots in Downtown/Deep Ellum area. It can be expensive atimes but they have added a few specials like the 2 for 1 Sushi specials on Tuesday. Its a small cozy little place but it gets the job done. Parking is on the streets or the lot next door which you pay to park.
I was out having lunch with a friend of mine and i started off with the Bento Box Beef Choice which for around 14 bucks had all that i needed but i got  a little greedy and ordered some Sushi too. We had Octopus, Fresh Water Eel, Salmon, Yellow Tuna, and a Few Rolls. Sushi Grade was very good and fresh and they also had Hot Sake Specials for $2 which i used to wash down the meal. It has been renovated since the last time and now looks more avant garde and the Service was friendly and made small talk with suggestions when necessary.

Overall, Its a Great spot to go if in the area or on a intimate date or just if you have a taste for good sushi.

Very Bubbly and High Energy Atmosphere,

I Was here a few days ago and apparently it's only been open for about 2 weeks. I didn't make any reservations and the hostess said it would be an average of a 2.5 hr wait so i ventured upstairs which was also packed and decided to take a chance at the bar. The Decor is outstanding with a great outside patio and also a Private room for parties inside. The Bar was very alive and we managed to get a seat at the bar with the help of the bar waitress, Angie and that's how the night began. The Drinks are very reasonable for an Uber type Bar/Restaurant and the Bar staff was very alert.

I started out with the Cheese steak egg rolls and the Lump Crab Cake. I instantly fell in love with the Crab Cake simply because it was all meat and no batter and the Cheese steak Egg rolls were pretty tasty and filling at the same time. We also dabbled into the Deviled Eggs which were decent and finally the MacNCheese which was delicious. We had a few cocktails and Beer and people watched and Called it a Night and i headed to the next hot spot for Friday evening.

Will Definitely be back to try something off the main menu next time i visit.

Ricochet Bar & Lounge

This is the Latest and Greatest spot for folks in Midtown to party like the Tourists without venturing down to SoBe.
It has Great Drinks, Live Bands, Good Music and Ambiance. I was here a few days to watch a Friend, Big Brooklyn Red(Don't Sleep on this Talent) Belt out some tunes with his Band at Ricochet and despite the Fact that its just a Lounge You could still appreciate the output of a Real Band in this type of setting. They have games, My Friends played a ton of rounds of Connect4(I can't even try to explain it to the youngies born after 1985) and the Lounge seating was very comfortable and cozy. Its open every day of the week for now and i can see a lot of great things happening especially when they can have guest Dj's out to set the party tone right.

I was at this location years ago when it was named "Murphys" which was a Nigerian Restaurant with poor service so i wasn't too shocked when i recieved Poor Service from this establishment occupying the existing spot with a changed name.

The cuisine is different and is more geared towards a Southern Cuisine. As soon as we entered we were told to swipe our Drivers License enforced by TABC. We eventually got seated and it took the Waiter to work his way back to us. The place was empty but we were there on a Saturday afternoon/evening around 4.30pm so it wasn't uncommon.

I looked through the menu and decided on the Pork Chop Sandwich and my friend had the Catfish platter. It took about 15-20mins before the food was served and it took another 5 mins to get the ketchup that should have came with the fries and when i asked for Lemonade it took the waiter another 4 mins to return and let me know that they were out of Lemonade.

The Food when finally delivered was good and well seasoned. No complains on the food except for the service. The Decor was typical of poorly planned black establishments. There is a stage for live music which reminds me of a Church's Band that was loaned to the establishment or otherwise how many places have an organ on a blues and jazz stage.

I hear the drinks are strong and the food is very affordable but until they can get their act together when it comes to service i doubt it will ever amount to much.

Stopped by for lunch today.

Its been around since 1956 so it probably gets some cool points for being nostalgic and the drive in type service.

I ordered a cheese burger with bacon, forgot to get grilled onions and also ordered the home cut fries. The Burger was very good not too big, very well seasoned and tasty. The fries on the other hand were fresh and nicely cut but not seasoned. you will have to add season to taste.

I'm not a big fan of root beer or floats so i didn't bother indulging . I ordered the fresh lemonade and it didn't do the trick for me. I saw a few other items on the menu that i will like to try our like the Chicken fried steak and a host of other things so whenever i am in the GROVE i will try and get those in and out of the way.

Crimson Asian Cuisine

Wanted to try something new in the area for lunch so i invited a friend to check out Crimson. Its conveniently located in the Uptown/West Village area where one can walk to from one of the apartments locally.

It wasn't busy for lunch since i presume a lot of people don't know about it yet. We got seated and proceeded to order.

The Items on the menu were Vietnamese with a little variations in the name. For lunch the prices here were about 2 or 3 dollars more than your typical traditional pho restaurant but i guess thats priced into the location.

I ordered the Sun Kissed Beef and my friend had the Chargrilled Chicken. .  The Plates were pretty decent for lunch and generous with their portions. The Food was pretty decent. The Poor waitress was a lil bit clueless and confused while there. I tried to get a refill on my Peach Tea but it came back unsweetened and when i pointed that out she just got me some traditional sweet green tea so i just let it slide. Overall it will be a nice introduction to Vietnamese food for non frequenters of Vietnamese cuisine and to take Business clients but i think i will stick with my traditional spots in the East Dallas area.

Baboush

I haven't been inspired to do a review in a minute but luckily my visit to Baboush got me out of my funk.

I was here for dinner last nite with a friend and we arrived at the location and it wasn't busy at all which was surprising because i was in the area a couple of weeks ago and it was jam packed. It worked out better for us because the service was impeccable and the wait staff and hostess were very courteous. I don't think they could have duplicated that type of effort in a mad house.

The interior was very cozy with mediterenean inspired furniture decorated very elegant and simple, we opted for the cozy booth chairs and skipped appetizers and ordered our food tapa's style.

I ordered the Kefta Kebabs and the Chicken Shawrma with hummus  my friend ordered the Pomegranate Tabouleh and the Spinach Goat cheese Cigar which i must say all four dishes looked presentable and tasted great and was a decent tapas size for sharing unlike Stephan Pyles tapas restaurant "Samir" i think is the name. The Hummus was the real deal and had enough flavor with the pita bread to make the dish memorable.

I ordered a beer for my entree even though i think the tried to push for cocktails or wine and coincidentally they have a wine bar next door called cork which makes it a perfect pairing to the Sex and the City type adventurers.

After dinner we decided on dessert and my friend ordered the Stuffed Grapes while i had to stick to my Baklavas which were incredible and one of the best i've had in Dallas besides those at Kismet.
Overall it was a great dinner with great but not intrusive service, great weather and great company.
Will definitely bring the crew back on any given day.
