Original Market Diner

Great place to get home cooked meals. Its been around for a long time. Lots of regulars, Its on Harry Hines so lots of Parkland Hospital people come by. The menu has different specials for each day.

On this particular day i was in the mood for some guilt food so i ordered the Supreme Steak which was charboiled with onions. I ordere Mashed potatoes and Fried Okra as my side items. My Friend ordered the Chicken and Dumpling and i must say it was unbelievable.
My Food came with lots of gravy and the steak was good. The Fried Okra didnt have enough season but nothing some gravy cannot cure. I looked at the Breakfast menu and realized that i might need to start coming back more often to do some justice to the remaining egg entries.
Overall the food is good and the staff is very friendly and helpful and i must say i love this Diner but wishes they were like New York Diners whee i can get some Lox and eggs.

Yelp Arabian Nights Elite Event @ Kismet featuring…

Nikki,

Its gonna be hard for you to top your last 2 events cos they were amazing. Kismet was loads of fun, from the Belly dancers, to the Palm reader , to the Great apetizers and drinks and the cool Yelp Crowd all i can say is much more kudos to you and whoever took part in organizing. I had to jet and probably missed a souvenir but i still felt great when leaving.  I loved the Kebabs, Veggie roll, baclava and even the Hookah. Now thats the way to celebrate an Arabian nite!!!!!!!!!!

Cool spot, diverse crowd, has a restaurant in it, Great Pop Music or top 40. Decent sized dance floor. Bar staff are not as quick and professional as in the U.S but hey. They dont even understand the concept of running a tab so i had to close out my tab everytime i ordered (Duh). Overall it was a nice mix and fun times. Too pad it closes around 3am.

Carbon

I should have known not to rely on a youngsters tip about clubs. Carbon is in the Marble Arch area. Decor was nice, It had a bunch of Barrels for decoration. Open area and some VIP area but i was hoping that since it was in the CIty that it will be diverse enough for me to have a good time but when i got in it was very one dimensional and basically pretty much a Classless Nigerian Affair and some random folks of African descent. Drinks were spilling all over the floor and the bar staff took forever to clean it up. It was hot in the place and i wouldnt say the crowd was that young but they were obviously young minded. After about an hour and a half i had to jet and get the hell out of this whack joint. Hope they have a more diverse crowd on other nites since i went on a Friday nite.

Tower Tandoori Restaurant

This place has a perfect location being just around the corner from Tower Bridge i figured after sight seeing i grub on some good ole indian food. The place is cozy and the staff were very professional. We got seated and were offered the 2 course meal for 12.50 (Pounds) which was more than adequate.
I had the Murgh Tikka and the Murgh Biryani and i must say it was delicious. It wasnt quite the American sized portions i get in Dallas but it was flavorful and the setting was very nice. The only extraordinary thing was that my beer did cost 7 pounds which is a bit ridiculous but then again i am on vacation so who cares. I will definitely check it out again if i am in the area.

Tasty Jerk

Whenever i am in SE London, Its almost a ritual to stop by Tasty Jerk. Its the best Jerk Chicken i can get my hands on in this part of the globe. This place is always packed and there is always some jerk chicken on the grill being sprayed with liquids and flipped at the same time. On this occasion my brother and i decided to just go for the Chicken, Rice and Peas and ordered some planain on the side and dont forget to get the spicy sauce on top of your chicken. Now this place is a take out restaurant so no need to look for a place to sit so just hurry up and get your food and hit the car. Try to avoid this place when a premiership game is going on in the vicinity. I have also tried the Oxtail and the Curry goat and i can vouch for it too .

Loft 610

This was not a Planned dinner outing. I got a text from a friend saying he was going to be celebrating his Birthday at Loft 610 and i remembered the Billboard i see everytime i am headed to work of the Infamous Tre Wilcox from the Reality TV Food shows and also known for being the Sous Chef at Abacus so i convinced my Date to drive all the way to Frisco to Check it out.

We didnt have reservations so we had to wait about 15 minutes which wasnt a problem. I noticed that there was a DJ in the main entrance getting ready to transform the place to a club for the Cougars and Midlife crisis men in their Ed Hardy's and True Religion gear. We had a drink at the bar before the hostess came to get us and take us to our seats.

The Decor was tasteful and the menu was very simple which to me makes a Restaurant classy.
We Started off with the Crab Cakes which i must say was very tasty and i could actually tasted the fresh Blue Crabs. The Presentation was lovely.
For the Main Entree i ordered the Sea Bass with mixed Vegetables and my Date had the Salmon. My Sea Bass was just right, not to tough , buttery and very flavorful and it came with a spicy sauce . I tasted the salmon and it was ok but i would stick to my Sea Bass.

For Dessert we shard the Chocolate Hazelnut Mousse Cake with Bacon Brittle on it. It was delish and very rich in taste. After a few cocktails the Celeb Chef actually made rounds and came by our seat to get some feedback about our dinner which was very flattering.
The prices of the menu items were very affordable and the ambience was very elegant but word to the wise the Restaurant turns into a club after 10 so for the sane ones i will advise to leave before then cos you will see a lot of lady gaga'ish characters with a lot of skin to exhibit and a lot of thirsty/randy older men trying to feast on something but all in all apart from the distance it was a great find.

Yelp Elite Ugly Holiday Bash @ Bolsa

What can i say?

Nikki Rocks.
The Event went well and surpassed my expectations. The Venue was ridiculous. I dont know how you pulled it off at Bolsa. Its one of my fav spots in the Bishop Arts District. The Brushettas were amazing as usual and the Flatbreads were totally on point and to top it with the Hot Spiced Sangrias and the Beer. I was full by the time i left and met with some old regular yelpers and met some new ones and for the record i got my first Yelp Lunch Box with totally took me to Nostalgia land when i was in the 1st grade only that my yelpers Lunch Box will kick any of my Disney themed boxes butts anytime so i wanna go back in time to brag about my Yelp perks and also got my Hoodie so i am officially Famous.

Pita Spice

I love pita spice

I have been coming to this estalishment for years and unfortunately i only patronize it after hours and whenever i go after the club has shut down around 4 or 5 am they are always still open.
This morning we stopped by for something to eat. There wasnt much left but i managed to snag some Chicken Kebab and a Falafel. I had everything on it. The Humus was great, All the veggies were just what the Doctor ordered to battle anytime of Hangovers i would have experienced in the a.m. They make other sandwiches and also have Baclava's. The staff is very patient and well trained to deal with us drunks but always seem to make my trip worthwhile. I recommend anyone who is familiar with greek food which i miss dearly from growing up in England to try out and they will have nothing to regret. There is like a  patio inside and one outside .

Enriqueta's Sandwich Shop

Categories: Cuban, Breakfast & Brunch

4 star rating

We went to our regular Brunch hang out Kafa's Cafe but to our dismay it wasnt opened so we opted for Enriqueta's which i have never been to but have noticed a ton of cars parked around the sandwich shop. We tried to go in to eat but there was no seating available so we decided to order take out. I looked at the platters and knew i was in the right place. My Friends  ordered the Enriqueta sandwich which was a popular choice with ham and egss and onions and more on cuban bread but i opted for the Cabolo which was eggs, steak, ham and french fries. i mus say its authentic cuban food, big portions , Very affordable worth coming back. I didnt get to taste the cafe con leche but will definitely check it out on my next visit. I must say i love hidden treasures.
