Awesome food, vibe and service. St at the bar and the service was great and friendly, they even turned off the Cubs game so I could watch te end of the Devils game.

Got the Brisket and Ribs combo and the meat was perfectly tender on both!

This is based solely on the bar as we just had drinks.  However, I love the atmosphere and decor of the bar very trendy yet friendly and casual. I did peak in the dining room and it looked very nice as well.

The staff was friendly and the bartender on that night was really good and attentive to his customers and made sure they had drinks.

Also, they have an amazing cocktail list and that night they made a sample of their Apple Pie Martini for people to taste and it was amazingly delicious.  I really wanted to pair it side-by-side with a slice of warm apple pie and Vanilla Ice Cream!!!!

I will be going back and check out the food at that point.

I walked past this place many many times and avoided it although it always looked good because I knew it would be bad if I didn't.  Well a few weeks ago I got sucked in and I was right its been bad since because this place is so damn good I keep finding myself going back from delicious baked goods!!!

The cinnamon bun is amazing and my absolute favorite.  I need to ask them what time I would need to get there in the morning to end up with a fresh hot out of the oven bun because something tells me that would be heavenly.

Anyways, I highly recommend this place whether looking for a simple cupcake, cookie or even a cake for a special event!!

This was officially my second visit but on my first stop we just had Sangria and Garlic Bread as the bar was closing.

This time I went with a friend and we sat at the bar to eat.  Nelson who was the bartender was very friendly, aware of everything and seemed to know all of his regulars well and what they liked which is a great talent.

I got the Gnocchi al Pesto with Grilled chicken.  I asked for extra garlic which they provided and the food came out very quickly and was extremely tasty.

The bar area is very cozy and pleasant to sit with my only complaint really being that the TV just doesn't really fit the vibe of the place and it would be better without it.

Heard about this place from many a friends so the other night one of my friends and I decided to check it out.

My favorite thing about this place is the vibe and the decor, very chill and welcoming.  However, that is where the best parts of it end.

Beers on draft are $6 or $7 and all beers are 12 oz pours, now certain beers due to strength, style, limited availability should be a smaller 12 oz pours but none of the 6 beers on draft fell into this category.

As for the wine they have 4 on draft, which to me is still strange, wine on draft.  They do 3oz or 6 oz pours and there is no discount for a bigger pour, 3 oz pours are just half price and the glasses are actually marked so the bar tender is aware of how much is being poured.

Food wise the menu is nice but the portions are very small and not really worth the price.  The fried pickles were spears that were cut, then breaded very lightly and fried, these would have been much better if they were full pickles sliced and breaded more.  I opted for the pub burger for a meal and it was $8 and super tiny, it was more of a slider then a burger and at most I'd say 2oz of meat, not a great value.

Bottom line is if you just want a few drinks (I suggest the wine over beer here) then go here for that, but skip the food and go elsewhere so many other options in the area.

Hey Philadelphia, you're not needed anymore!!!

Craving a true Philadelphia Cheesesteak but the drive is just to long?  Fear no more Phil's Steaks has brought authentic Philly Cheese to NYC in their new food truck.  The values are great and the steak hits the spot like you wouldn't believe.

After a rocky start on the road these guys took the truck off the road and had one of the guy's right off the grill from Pat's in Philly train their cooks and the results just shine.

Check these guys out and follow them on twitter @philssteaks to find out when they are in your neighborhood or just seek them out, its worth the trip.

Was out in Indianapolis for Winterfest and went here to check out the Local underground Tent Party going on for the Super Bowl.  The vibe was amazing and it was a rocking good time.  While in line for food we met a brewery employee who was nice enough to get permission to give us a tour of the brewery although it was closed.  Its an amazing facility currently undergoing a great expansion which is always exciting to see.

Afterwards, Dave one of the owners was kind of enough to talk to me and my friends who all came in from out of town and show us the newer parts that were still under renovation and then do a quick tasting with us.

The beers were all great and the people as friendly as can be.  Also, they have some of the greatest artwork and logos in craft beer in view.

This place just had its 1 year anniversary and I predict it will be the first of many.  The staff was awesome, friendly and knowledgable about the brews.  The vibe in the tasting room was very relaxed and friendly as well.

Besides great beers, had the Glazed Ham Porter and Mustache Ride and tasted several others as well.  The brewer was there and was very friendly and willing to speak with us and tell us about the brewery and his plans.  Word is they want to start bottling soon and this NYer hopes that they will eventually distribute to NYC.

All in all a great part of the Indy Beer Culture and a must visit when in town!

Update - 1/17/2012
I was going to write this place off but I got an email from the owner after my previous review asking me to give it another try so I figured since they were nice enough to reach out I would go back.

I was going to get a personal bar pie but then I saw the pre-made crusts and thought twice about it and opted for chicken parm.  I know the small space of a truck makes things difficult and that trucks are primarily about fast service but I guess the pizza lover in me has a hard time accepting a crust that isn't hand tossed.  Maybe if I hadn't seen the crusts sitting there which reminded me of pitas I would have tried it.

The chicken parm I got was good but for the same price the Italian place on the corner gives me a much bigger sub with better bread and more of everything.  However, it was still quite tasty.

Also, I opted for cookies since I wanted the Sweet Potato Gnoochi which they were out of, the cookies were decent but that is about it.

Overall, glad I tried it and its a shame I didn't enjoy it because they are often in my area at night and I like supporting the food trucks because I feel they are truly part of what makes this city grat.

I noticed this truck last week in my neighborhood on York around 81st and 82nd.  Decided to google it and found the website which said it would be in the neighborhood tonight Wednesday January 11, 2012 until 9PM.  Looked at the menu and it seemed interesting so I figured I would go give it a try.  Walked through and was up the block at 8:05 pM as i noticed them closing up shop and pulling the gate over the window.

I can understand closing early if business is slow to try to cut loses but if you post hours you should honor them.  They are suppose to be in the area many more times but I don't think I will be giving them another shot anytime soon.  I just don't have respect for business that don't honor posted hours, especially on their website.

Palmer House

I tend to stay at Hiltons when I travel for pleasure for two reasons:
1) They are usually very clean and nice at all levels in the chain
2) A friend works for a property and I can get a deal.

However, the Palmer House is exceptionally awesome.  Located in the loop only a block and half from Millenium Park its less then a 10 minute walk to Cloud Gate aka: The Bean which just mesmerized me finally seeing it in person.  I was a bit obsessed with it.

The hotel lobby ceiling is amazing and the overall decor is great and the room was clean and recently remodeled.  The only downsides were:
1) No fridge in room (I am sure I could have gotten one of if I asked)
2) No Coffee maker in the room
3) No HDTV I didn't realize there were hotels without these anymore

Also, the concierge Phillipe is top notch.  I had mentioned on Twitter I was looking on best way to get to the hotel and places to eat around there with good beer.  Not sure how he found my tweet but he did and within minutes we emailed back and forth and he provided me with great choices.  His service and knowledge of the area is impeccable.

Bottom line is this is a great hotel, that is clean, nice and has a world-class friendly staff.
