It's fancy
It has very pretty things
It's rather expensive
Throw that last bit of info out the window, when they have an end of season sale. Then, it's a marvelous wonderland of bargains!
Add to the mix, that the staff is extremely helpful, and quite nice.
They do deliver large plants for you, too.
I hadn't been in ages, and got a chicken parm sub that, though large, was extraordinarily bland. The sauce had NO Flavor, and the one thing that it had going for it was that the chicken had actually been sauteed. Some places just throw frozen chicken pucks in the deep fryer. It was also cold. *sigh*
I brought a steak and cheese sub back for one of the guys, and he actually made a face while eating it. I felt bad.
The interior is simply, yet tastefully done up. The bar is nice, and off to the side.
The service was great.
The food was pretty darn good. I got the steak frites, which was a flank steak, and nice crispy fries. I got a side salad, which was done up Italian style, all peppered and salted, with a simple vinaigrette.
Dawn got the Burger, which they cooked right, and she ate it up quite happily. She got the sweet potato fries, which were really good, and crispy.
Good beer selection.
So, in summation, a great new place to eat in town. I'm still amazed at the transformation of the space. How did they get rid of the pervading Sit'n Bull stench? Because it was powerful, my friend.
I beat Dawn to review this joint!
New and spacious with expanded prepared foods section and a cafe...
It was so spacious it looked kind of....empty. Maybe it was our timing, but there was hardly any breads left.
I was expecting more produce. The greenhouse was almost completely empty, except for some Hallowe'en stuff, and obscene looking gourds, which we of course, commented on. Who was I with, after all?

This isn't my favorite farm stand in the world. They are great, don't get me wrong, but Atkin's wins that vote.
They are on the way home for me, so I find myself in there, a lot.
They serve up kick ass baked goods. You can pick your strawberries, pumpkins, etc.. They grow a bunch of their produce.
You can pick up pre-made meals. What we have tried so far has been great.
Apparently, they have a BBQ night, and what they serve up is grand.
Minus 1/2 star for priciness. Another 1/2 for really pushy clientele. I've never been in a place where people cut lines so much.
Chill out, Dude!
French Onion Soup- delicious, and the stock was unbelievably good.
Bison Ribeye was also great. They gave me about a pound of perfectly sauteed asparagus with it, so my pee is going to smell funny later tonight.
Fantastic Chocolate mousse cake, that's waiting in the fridge to be finished...
And... a litre of Dinkel Acker...Woof!
Maybe it's a good thing this place is so far from home...

Went back again, and had the Venison Flank Steak with Lingonberry sauce. Yummy! Some sort of mixed grain side, and weinkraut. Fantastic! Try their soup, too. One of the best soups I've ever had. I think they put crack in the stock, or something.
We brought dessert home, and their chocolate mousse cake is divine.
Honest to God, Sweetie wrote them an e-mail, begging them to open up a place nearer to home. I'd be there every week, if they did.
Note: If the idea of eating heavy German food turns you off because you are dieting, they have a back page dieter's menu, with Weight Watcher's points all spelled out for you.
Our waitress Chrissy was great, and was dressed up to look like the St. Pauli girl. If you go, you'll see it's done up to look like a Bavarian brauhaus, with steins, and antlers, and cuckoo clocks on the walls. There's yodelly Bavarian drinking songs on the sound system, to boot. I think we need something like this, with a beer garden, in Boston. -

I had exactly what Vanilla did: the Schlacht Platte. Dear Lord, I could not eat another morsel; but so wanted to! I left half the plate. The smoked porkchops were especially fine. I've been full, since.
Sweetie Darling got the Wiener Schnitzel, and proclaimed it the best ever. She even loved the red cabbage, and she hates cabbage!
I wish this place was closer to home.
The service was excellent, and really friendly. It's not very expensive, either. Great selection of the Real German Beer on tap.

The Salad bar is wonderful, and large, but expensive....
I spent $12 dollars for salad, an apple, and a beverage the other day.
I could spend that, and get a beer, and TIP at Garden at the Cellar.
However, I would like to note that they sell Cabot cloth wrapped aged Cheddar Cheese there, which is the best thing I have ever put in my mouth. Period.
Let your dirty little minds wander where they will; it even beats Dinkel Acker, in my mind. Oh My Dear Sainted Nana! I've never had such a hearty cheese melt in my mouth with such luscious flavor, and no harsh notes....YUM!
Y'all have to try it...

Anyone who knows me knows that I'm not exactly a Saks kinda girl.
Heaven help the deluded gal who chased me though the store, asking me if I wanted a make-over. Yah, in her mind I needed it; in my mind, I'd rather a root canal. Pleeze!
Stake me to an anthill, before I'd let the Cosmetic Counter Girls let loose on my face.
I like my face as it is. I have clear skin, minimal lines, and a healthy liking of what I see in the mirror.
I don't want to look like any Model, or any other Celebrity. I AM ME.
Sorry, darling, you chased down the wrong Lesbian.
Great bar help, terrific food, nice atmosphere, and the game on.
The food was seriously better than I had any right to expect the food to be in a bar. Yummy sandwiches, and terrific wings. Fries are nice and crispy.
The Ladies room was clean and pretty. They have an assortment of bodycare products, if you are so inclined.

It's like $18, and way better than Henrietta's Kitchen.
Homemade sausages that have flavor, strata's, quiches, tons of funky sides....MMMMMMMM!!!! Local smoked trout, too!
And the bacon is to die for!
Pretty spot, great destination, right at the Winery.
Better make a reservation, though. This joint fills up, Esp. in the Fall.
Date

But, oh yeah, it 'tis. It's THAT GOOD.
Freaking amazing scones, and the turkey sammich was wonderful. A medley of fresh greens, goat cheese, roasted peppers, a hefty slice of turkey, and all on a mouthwatering scone.
GREAT scones. Worth two mentions worth. Like the type you would find in a Teahouse in Great Britain.
Marvelous tea. Wonderful space, in an OLD Farmhouse. The help was really warm and welcoming.
Nom,Nom,Nom.....I'm coming back with Sweetie Darling.
