So now I am writing my first hand crappy experience at this crappy bar with the crappiest bartender in the universe. I know it was crappy because I remember it clear as day.
I have to say...this is probably one of the worst bar experiences I've ever had. The bartender we had was just horrible. Here's the situation...
We walk up to the crowded bar. Finally make it to the front to order some drinks. We ask for Jager Bombs (by the way...do New Yorkers not drink Jager Bombs cuz we had hell of time ordering them in New York?). The bartender shakes his head and moves on to another patron at the bar. Ummm...ooookay. He comes back to us...we order a Raspberry Kama Kaze. Again, he shakes his head and takes the order for another patron. What the eff is this? The bartender only makes drinks he wants to make or something? Still...we give him another chance. He comes to take our order again. Goose and tonic. Again with the head shake. Moves on to take an order from someone else. By this time, we are pretty damn pissed off. We tried to ask what the problem is. He just shook his and didn't say a word. We left pissed vowing never to return to this crappy @$$ bar again. Never.
By the way...I took a nice little pic of this head shaker who doesn't make drinks customers order. Wait for it...
It is actually really sad that this place is going to waste because it is so beautiful. The sound ordinance issue with the city of Pasadena has forced this place to shut down and squashed many a brides dreams of a gorgeous wedding with a garden and mansion backdrop.
Whatever the neighbors complaints are about and city board meetings decision is on this place is something I can't control but the management company who booked all the dates for 2010 could've handled the situation a bit better. I feel like there are some important facts not being told to the future brides and grooms who gave their $1500 deposits to reserve a wedding date at this venue. I guess we'll never know.
Don't get me wrong, my deposit was returned to me in full but all I got was a short letter saying that the current the management company (Sylvia Noland Inc.) was no longer going to be in charge of weddings here from March 2010 due to "medical reasons." Uh...okay. But we were given the impression that our dates were secure and a new management company was going contact us shortly to draw new contracts for us to sign, and we that didn't need to worry. Boy...were we ever so wrong. After a couple of weeks of "sorries" and "we'll let you know asap" all we got was an email...not even a personal call apologizing...telling us that The Ambassador Campus was not able to get a permit from the city to hold weddings for after March 2010. So...all of us who booked a date for after March 2010 were left without a venue. Without a venue...it's kind of hard to start planning a wedding. So now...back to square one.
It is a beautiful venue with so much potential if run efficiently and professionally. The short letter with a check returning our deposit and email we received telling us that our contract is null and void was done without much consideration. It was definitely a slap in the face.
So FYI...no weddings will be done here anymore.

Dinner: Proscuitto wrapped figs. Goat cheese salad. Pork chops. Grilled Trout. Chocolate crepe. Bread pudding. Wine pairing.
Maybe it's the DineLA thing that did me wrong but this place did not live up to the hype. Maybe it's more of a breakfast spot. The Proscuitto wrapped figs were pretty interesting. All the other dishes were just decent.
Would I eat here again? Yeah, maybe for breakfast or brunch. Definitely not for a DineLA dinner.

But most of the reviews seem to be focused on the Chicago deep dish pizzas. Well...I had it and it was just...okay. Not bad...but I've never had pizza in Chicago so I can't tell you about the authenticity of it. So...what makes this place 4 stars then?
BREAD PUDDING and GREAT SERVICE.
Get the bread pudding.
One of the best steak houses I've been to. Both service and food were impeccable.

I kinda don't wanna share this place, but I wanna see this little family-run mom and pop shop do well. And of course I want my fellow yelpers to know where the best carniceria is because I'm just generous like that. :p
I have to give credit to David L. for finding this place. It's his neighborhood carniceria and we are glad it is because this place is amazing. The carne asada, guacamole, ceviche and salsa are items we've tried and everything is always absolutely fresh and delicious.
I've tried other carnicerias but nothing comes close to this one. Don't be fooled by the exterior. Expect nothing but pleasant service and amazingly flavorful food.
Must try - fruit flavored balsamic vinegars. Strawberry. Peach. The two best ones.
Man...I'm getting lazy...but the important thing is...I'm telling you all the important things.
Donating funds to non-profit organizations.
If you're gonna go wine tasting, spending your money why not do it where you're making a difference just by being a patron?
Date

I've decided it's a great place for coffee and dessert but not for a meal. Also, I don't really like places where I order at the counter. Yes...I'm kind of lazy like that.
As for the food...I would have to say this place has one of the worst New England Clam Chowder soup I've ever had. The worst. Gross. Italy's Best sandwich was just okay. Lobster Cobb was probably the best dish out of the three but still just okay. The red velvet cake was delicious and so was the coffee.
I like the fact that they use eco-friendly to-go supplies, and I love the decor. It's a cute date place. But just for dessert and coffee. Not to eat a meal.
