My ribeye steak was good.  Other than that, Stacy's halibut was reportedly bland, there was grit in the swiss chard, and flies.  They've got the right idea - local, seasonal, "new american" - and they took a good stab at the atmosphere, but like universal health care I'm pretty disappointed with the execution so far.

At least the Sounders did well while we were there.

Townshend's Alberta Street Teahouse

I hung out here for an hour or so while my girlfriend was across the street at Bolt.  Not that I'm anti-fabric shopping - I actually browsed over her shoulder for 15 minutes and became an Amy Butler fanboy in the process - but I was acutely aware that there were some comfy overstuffed chairs that were in danger of floating away.  You know how that goes.

Townshend's has a relaxed vibe going.  Don't go there for a quick tea to go.  They actually let things steep for an appropriate amount of time before serving.

I got the Market Spice Tea latte.  It was delicious, and I'm pissed that you can't find them in Seattle.  Then, I planted my butt on that overstuffed chair, just in time!

Caffe Allora

I was going to give Caffe Allora a four-star rating, which Yelp describes as "Yay! I'm a Fan!", but my dining companion, who wears the pants in this review, couldn't stop talking about how great her pumpkin and spinach raviolis were.  She even liked the Pinot Grigio she ordered to go with, and she's not a big white wine fan.  So we're giving it a fiver.

We were visiting from Seattle, and we decided to try this place out because it was walking distance from the hotel and it looked like it needed some Yelping.  It was perfect for what we were looking for - low key, some local/seasonal options, not too spendy.  I'm always glad when I find a restaurant with smaller portions for a little less money.  The vibe could be a bit cozier (maybe it is at the tables upstairs in the loft).  Our server was very friendly and attentive.

I had the fettuccine with white sauce, which turned out to be not very saucy but cooked just right with just enough Romano to make it delicious.
