Because of its location and being a rare business in Washington, DC, with an actual parking lot, we've gone here 3-4 times for help.  Unfortunately, every single experience has been somewhere between unpleasant and WTF!?

My main issue is not whether they know their stuff or not (they do) but how they've mastered the art of "look-at-the-current-customer-I'm-helping-now-and- maybe-everyone-else-will-go-away."

After waiting the half hour to be told, "we'll be right with you," and another 10 minutes to get someone to help, they'll direct me where to get whatever I need and then I have to wait (again!) in line for someone to ring me up!

And when I look at whoever was helping me to see if they could spare the 2 minutes to ring me up, it's back to "look-at-the-current-customer-I'm-helping-now-and- maybe-everyone-else-will-go-away" mode!

After patiently waiting for about 20 minutes while the woman at the customer service desk rant and rave about an issue she was having, someone finally called for some help to assist the rest of us entertained by how upset one human being could get.

I handed Mr. Kim a check I was cashing which got ripped in the scanning machine thingy they use.  The check was a little wet from a downpour I swam through to get to the store, but they didn't seem to think it would be a problem. Apparently it was.  With bits of paper in the machine, it wouldn't read the check.

I understand these things happen.  I almost felt embarrassed for Mr. Kim after ripping my check then not able to get the machine to work.  When Mr. Kim told me he spoke to someone and was told unless he could get the machine to scan the check, he couldn't help me.  Understood.  I asked if I could speak to that person or a manager.  Mr. Kim said he was a manager and I could talk to him.

Now that pissed me off.  I tried to reason with him, explaining why I needed to cash the check and how I felt since he was the one who ruined the check, there had to be something they could do.  Manually enter the numbers perhaps.

His only response was, "No."  No empathy.  No accountability.  It was funny when he explained to me the reason why he couldn't cash the check was because it was torn as if he wasn't the one who tore it!
