I have never been to a Ripleys' Museum and I have always loved the Ripleys' books and magazines. This place has some awesome exhibits and trivia. I especially enjoyed the 16th-17th century German torture devices and the Niagara Falls trivia displays. It's funny to see some of the freakshow stuff in here.
The tickets here, yea a bit expensive. The thing is, you could spend that same amount of money anywhere else on this street on less impressive stuff.

That's not a good thing.
Overpriced food, cliche celebrity paraphernalia on the walls, the overpriced food being mediocre, expensive drinks (soft drinks included).
I understand this place is located in the tourism area of Niagara Falls in Canada........but come on. Seriously?

This is cool I guess but the Grand Canyon was much more beautiful in my opinion. Why am I comparing it to the Grand Canyon? Well, the Grand Canyon and it's surrounding areas are over 100-200% cheaper. The falls are pretty but the surrounding restaurants and surrounding businesses jack up their prices because they can.
The Grand Canyon was also less crowded and less aggravating to get to. We drove from Boston to Hershey, PA and Hershey, PA to Niagara Falls. The tolls on the NY I-90 were insane and made Massachusetts tolls look like they cost only pennies.
I came out here to see the falls and go to Canada. Now I can say I did both. Will I come back here? Doubtful. There is so many more things to see, but........I will recommend anyone see it just once. It's something that only requires a day and you can go into Canada and see some sights as well.
The bed was comfortable, but the rest of the room sucked. I'll have to go back to Red Roof Inn's and Days Inn for my one or two star hotel rooms.
The room prices here are ridiculous. $249 a night? Get real! I could get a room at the Wynn, Palazzo or Venetian in Vegas for half of that and the room would be 5 times as nice.
I'll stick to Vegas or Foxwoods.
It is understaffed, over machined (too many slots) and hardly enough tables. The room where the tables were reminded me of a bingo hall with bling.
I will give it three stars for it's crap crew. Very nice dealers handling the table as well as Pit Boss. I only played for 35-45 mins but I think the Pit Boss was graciously giving comps to the small players at the table. Had I stayed longer she probably would have hooked me up.
Now this is a weird thing. No smoking in the casino except designated smoking areas. One, I am happy because the smell of stale cigarettes gets old and is very nasty. Two, I was extremely disappointed I couldn't smoke one of my cigars.
I didn't see a drink waitress the entire time, but whatever. I came out around $40-50 ahead from a small $50 buy-in so I was happy.
Vacation in Niagara starts with a smoking room because the front desk says they have nothing else. This is a pretty decent sized Super 8 and there is NO non-smoking rooms? Please!
The pool is the size of a large jacuzzi and looks like 50% urine and 50% chlorine. The wireless internet did not work the entire 3 day stay here. The guy at the front desk claimed that he called the internet provider but I doubt it.
This place is overpriced and lacks serious amenities. Worst continental breakfast ever, crappy rooms...........then again it's a Super 8 so I had to expect such things.

This place is far superior to the Comcast Center in every way possible. Yes, you do have to walk a small bit from the various T stops (Aquarium, South Station, Haymarket) but the walk is good on a beautiful day. We walked down the various areas by the water and ended up walking through a 5-star outdoor restaurant. I didn't feel out of place of course, because there were no velvet ropes preventing me from just leisurely waltzing through. Remember, I am the boss.
So we get there and I end up being more bold and drinking an entire bottle of Jagermeister with Mountain Dew and Captain Morgans and Coke. I am completely feeling nice. Until I saw the prices of drinks there. No worry though. This concert is for Beth-Ann's favorite band, so costs are trivial.........plus I'm drunk so money means little at the time. $10 for a draft beer sucks, but whatever.
I got to catch a drumstick off the forehead from the drummer of Halestorm............3 beers earlier and I would have so caught it. The lead singer was trying too hard but their drummer was awesome. He obviously threw the drumstick to me as I was cheering him on......but I was pretty intoxicated and stupid.
I also got to see Chevelle which was cool, I always liked them. They sounded excellent here. I figured the speakers here would be weak, but they were actually pretty good.
6 beers later, and alcohol induced vomiting, I was up and having a good time listening to Staind. I didn't eat enough and drank too much. It was the first time I had ever gotten sick from alcohol on it's own. All the other times were from some psycho driving while I was drunk or getting on a rollercoaster at Canobie Lake Park drunk.
The police and security here were VERY relaxed compared to the Comcast Center. No padding down, no strip search, no being yelled at. I didn't even get carded after the first round of beers, but I ended up being stopped by the police and 2 security separately after the 3rd round. I guess some people think I look young?
Overall, this was an excellent venue. Due to my decreased wallet size, increased weight and inability to act normal........I'll be going alcohol free here from now on. Which should save me considerable money. I do wish though, that some other big groups come here instead of Comcast Center. It's an easier trip and less hassle than Mansfield, MA.
5-stars!
With crab cakes! Delicious and leaving you wanting more. I wish they'd give you three instead of two.
Both time I've eaten here I've had the lobster ravioli with seafood sauce. I brought the g/f earlier this week just because of the lobster ravioli. She enjoyed it and I thought it was delicious once again.
Now, the menu is a little pricey for a small Italian place in Wakefield...........but here is the deal. http://Restaurant.com sells gift certificates for this place. When you can find the 70-80% off deals on http://Restaurant.com, you will be able to get a $25 GC for $3 from them. So......
$25 off $50 bill. (18% gratuity automatically added based on pre-discount). I ended up paying $45 total for a $68 meal. Not bad huh?
I wouldn't come here too often because it's not cost-effective for me, but it's nice for a once in a while drop-in.
