My first time here was awesome. I only got waxed so I cannot comment on anything else. Everyone at the front desk was super friendly and profressional and treated me like a long time customer. My esthecian, Sarah Camilo was THE best. Again, super friendly and professional and did not mind my asking her questions. If you go to Novita to get waxed or for a facial (she may do other stuff though i am not sure), make sure you request Sarah. You will not regret it.

Chameleon Tattoo & Body Piercing

I've had all but 2 piercings done by Owen at Chameleon.  He has done my belly, my eyebrow, both of my tragus & helix, and helped to fix one of my nostril piercings that was acting up.

Each piercing has healed marvelously, and each was done so gently that I can't really say there was any pain.  Today I had a really really bad experience at another shop.  I originally wrote about that here, but I figured I prefer to talk about why Chameleon, and Owen specifically are so awesome, rather than talk about my horrible experience at this other place.

Every time I go to Chameleon, whether it be to ask questions or get pierced, I get the same treatment.  Everyone is super nice, willing to help and answer questions, even chit chat about whatever to pass the time.

I've gone to see Owen twice now just to talk to him, or get jewelry switched - which means that technically they are not making any money...because the jewelry is usually cheap, and he is always so friendly and professional, no matter what...and he remembers his repeat clients...which says a lot about the caliber of person he is.

If you are thinking of getting any piercing, I highly recommend going to Chameleon.  I have 16 piercings, not including the 2 I took out, and have gotten pierced in 3 different shops, and every time I haven't gone  to Chameleon, (except for my septum which I got done at Stingray, and Kristin was great - and its healing great) I regret it.

I know that if I had gone to Chameleon to get my lobe jewelry switched out, what happened to me today would NOT have happened.

I'll be going to Chameleon tomorrow head hung in shame asking Owen for his expertise yet again, and hopefully the damage done isn't too bad.

Lesson learned.  I will never be going anywhere else for my piercings...

Yea...I'll be going to Owen when I'm 70 still wanting something pierced lol

These guys ROCK.  I just spent about 1.5 hours in that place asking them every question I could come up with, from how much memory does this have to what phone do you have, and they were all very, very helpful.  Not once did they give me any weird vibes about not being able to make up my mind regarding which device to buy.  They were honest, direct, and did not seem to be trying to make a quick buck by telling me what they thought I wanted to hear.  I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get a phone repaired or looking for a replacement phone.  I wish all stores were like this :)

I always feel like an idiot when I go get my haircut, especially at places where the stylists...all have style lol So when I walked in today, my stomach got butterflies and I automatically thought...oh oh...here we go...I'm going to have to tell someone that obviously knows what they are doing how to do their job...but every stylist I talk to says that this is crucial for them to give the customer what they want...so I stumbled through the explanation, and Ace, the stylist who I ended up with, was understanding and explained what he was planning on doing so I could get what I want...which was to fix the mess that the previous two haircuts had accomplished.

I went to two different places, one 2 months ago, and one 3 days ago, and told each hair cutter what I wanted...and though what I wanted was simple...trim, even hair cut (i like to rock my hair bone straight on occasion, and when you have a bad haircut, it comes through with shining colors with bone straight hair) they both managed to let me walk out with uneven, choppy hair. Yes I could've gone back and had the person fix it, but to me, going a second time to someone who screwed up the first time is just asking for it...so I took the loss, and made an appointment at Judy Jetson's, which came highly recommended by my cousin, who has hair very similar to mine.

Ace took his time and did his thing...and being the obsessive person I am, once I got home, I spent about 15 minutes looking at my hair from every angle, and guess what...he did exactly what I asked, and even though I just got a trim 3 days ago, my hair looks healthier now, after he cut it, then it did a mere 3 days ago.

I plan on being a regular at this place, the price is right for the services they offer, and the quality is top notch.  I recommend this place to anyone.  Though all i got was a cut, blow dry and flat iron, they do colors, perms, and probably everything under the sun...

Not to mention the cool decor of the place.

I'm sold.

This review is quite possibly the easiest review I will ever write.  I could take the easy route and just say it this restaurant is incredible, groundbreaking, and sets the bar like no other restaurant I've been to, and this would suffice.

This place is so amazing I am almost speechless..and a bit overwhelmed because I want to go into extreme detail about everything..but not this review.  I'll save that one for the next time around.

The service was wonderful.  All of the waiters were knowledgeable, friendly, polite and encouraging of questions.  They all made sure to let us know that they would accommodate us in any way they could - from the drinks to the actual food, and they did.

The menu is incredible.  As a vegetarian, it was one of the few times that I actually regretted not eating meat because I felt as though I was seriously missing out.  Every plate that was brought to us not only looked perfect, but tasted perfect.  Even though we didn't really eat a lot of food or drink a lot, we were still treated like favored patrons, and were given not 1, or 2 or 3 but 4 complimentary dishes.  One of the complimentary dishes given to us was raw tuna, and one of my friends is pregnant, and I am a vegetarian, and they were so gracious about taking them back - and bringing out yet another complimentary dish that was vegetarian, and so delicious that I couldn't help but savor every single bite.

We sat at a spot that gave us a direct view of the open kitchen.  We were literally sitting a few feet away from where the kitchen staff performed something akin st synchronized swimming.  There are some folks that when they go out to eat, prefer to not see their food being made because it takes away from their appetite, but me? Watching these men and women at work...the accuracy and dedication that went into each dish being prepared, made me want to taste everything they were making.

I have not had a dining experience like this in so long...I plan to go back and spend half a weeks paycheck in one sitting.

I can't stress enough how incredibly wonderful the staff is at this place.  EVERYONE seemed to be in tune with each other, but more importantly in tune with the diners.

Craigie is worth every cent spent...and more.  And though my next statement has nothing to do with food, it added to my atmosphere - there were two chefs who were very hot, one who I kind of couldn't stop looking at (heh)...and watching them making this food that could be considered art, made my dining experience that much better.

I never thought I would find a place where I was happy with everything...but I have found that place with Craigie on Main...and I am already planning my next visit, where I will have the full vegetarian meal, and as many of their amazing cocktails as I can stomach.

It is pricey, but I can honestly say that here, you get what you pay for...which is excellence created by passionate people who are good at what they do and work hard at it.

I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for an all around incredible dining experience, and if you are lucky to sit by the open kitchen, I suggest you take the seats...because it is a show worth watching...even though the performers are not really performing (they are only focused on what they are doing, not who is watching), but creating meals that please all of the senses.

Simply put? I am in love with this place and plan on going there any and every chance I get.

i love all of the vegetarian dishes ive had so far...veggie beef and  broccoli, sesame chicken, orange chicken...EVERYTHING.

the fact that they have a ton of vegetarian dishes that are amazing is reason enough to love them, but today, they made me vegetarian noodle soup with tofu (which is quite delicious - eating it right now).  its official...this is the best chinese food in allston/brighton.

love the burgers.  love the bread. love the ingredients.  love love love.  the buger patty is different than what im used to getting at most restaurants.  i love them.  its very tasty and the texture is great. but, just like four burgers, the prices are ridiculous.  one burger with basic ingredients, and no included side dish $7.48.  ALMOST 8 DOLLARS FOR A LONELY SINGLE BURGER WITH NO SPECIAL INGREDIENTS.  and its not like the burger is all that big.  Am i being gauged because I choose to not consume flesh?

Sometimes it feels this way.  I can't single out b.good for doing this because most if not all veggie oriented restaurants do the same thing...

another thing...and please correct me if im wrong...but i thought the smoothies were all juice/yogurt...the mango one which im sipping on right now tastes like it has powdered mix in it...i have a very mean palette.

I just hope that one day, someone with the type of ethic that bgood & four brbrgers have for their burgers, will have the same type of ethic for their consumers.

Another thing...they charge $4.99 for a delivery fee on foodler.  Both the cambridge and brookline locaitons.

*sighs*  maybe they should be called rich people burger? lol

love the food...but it is hard for me to give this place the 5 the food deserves.

*took them about 1 hour 15 minutes to delivery from harvard to kendall sq :(

So I ordered contacts on-line from my usual supplier about 3 weeks ago, and still a no show.  I go across the country tomorrow for a week and the last pair of contacts I have are already about 2 weeks old...and yes...these are 2 week contacts.

I call around today to at least 10 places in the area and some further out (natick/framingham) to see if they carry my specific brand.  Every place I called gave me some run around about how there was nothing they could do and blah blah blah.

I call Eye Q, and within 5 minutes, the lady I spoke to - Tracy I believe (I'm horrible with names sometimes) told me to come in and that they would be able to help me out...and they did.

She provided me with a spare pair of contacts to last me throughout the week, until I can figure something else out when I get back...

I basically spent 2 hours calling around to every place I could find on google, until I hit Eye Q - and within 5 minutes she solved my problem.

I went in the store, and the transaction, including our chatting, took all of 7-10 minutes.

It is great to know that people in retail positions still feel human enough to treat others like human beings and not robots.  It is even better to know that there are still retail folks out there who will extend themselves, and go beyond what they are required in order to help another person.

Thank you Eye Q.  I will be going there for my future eye exams.

This is somewhat of a incomplete review which may be a bit unfair since I have not actually sat at the restaurant and ate my food.  My review is based on the take out experience.

Service is friendly, the place is nice and clean, though getting our food took way too long.

I ordered the vegan burger with cheese - making it unvegan.  I ordered the regular condiments...lettuce tomatoe onion mustard and ketchup...

All there.

I asked for a bit of the mango bbq sauce on the side so that I could taste it since i wasn't sure i would like it on my burger.  They forgot to include it.

The patty itself was delicious.  You can tell that they use good ingredients for everything...but the prices are ridiculous.  I still can't believe I spent that much on one burger...and the milkshakes are uber expensive as well.  $5 for a regular ice cream shake in a not so big cup.

=|

When we got home to eat our burgers, they were very sloppily made, and the bread was really really soggy...so I'm not sure I would recommend this place for take out.  I do want to try eating there for a change because I know it will be better...

But overall, I feel like the food is overpriced, and this is yet another place overcharging costumers with claims of "all natural" and "organic".

We'll see what happens.
