Very inexpensive for the neighborhood. The room we had, with a queen bed, was very crowded. It looked like your grandma's spare room where she puts her unused furniture. The room was clean and there was even a small fridge and microwave. This is not a room to spend much time in, but for a good night's sleep, it's ok.
Do all denny's have the same menu. I thought so until we came here go dinner. Very limited selection. Where are the sandwiches? Where is the pattymelt? I had chicken noodle soup which was tasty. The menu says you get a dinner roll with it. I got a tray of saltines.

Good takeout with large portions. I was very impressed with the vegetarian dishes. All the food was fresh and the sweet n sour chicken was delicious.

Nice, friendly local diner. The pies are very good and freshly baked on site. After a nice lunch, stroll down the street and visit the quaint shops in Reedley. It's really a nice treat for a Saturday afternoon.

Heidi's Pie Restaurant

This is the place to get pies when in San Mateo. Heidi's is always open, even on Christmas Eve when every other place in San Mateo is closed. The fruit pies are fresh and tasty and the crust is very flaky.
Have not eaten in the restaurant area (it's very tiny) but it seems to be a favorite in this city.

I think it's the economy, but it's much easier to get a table here. Service has definitely improved. Try the sweet potato fries and the pomegranate margarita. Superb.

You MUST go before 5 p.m. otherwise you will wait. The place is very noisy, but the food is good. My fav is fish tacos. Proportions are huge.
First, I am not a chain-restaurant person. Second, I like fresh food, prepared with real ingredients. That said, I have to give a good review for a chain restaurant that I'm sure has frozen entrees just waiting for the microwave.
The only Olive Garden in the area is in Clovis, and I can tell you right now, the recession/depression is over if the crowd here is any indication. The place was so busy on a Saturday at lunch that we had to wait 30 minutes for a table and then we were put in a banquet room with a wedding shower.
It all turned out ok, though. The shower people (close to 40) were delightful. Our waiter was amazing (yay for Chad). The soup was good and the merlot I had was the best. We ordered the Italian doughnuts for dessert and they were very tasty, along with an espresso that was done right.
I don't live on the east side of the Valley so I don't know when I will be back, however I would highly recommend this place.

The sushi may be very good, but I'm not a sushi eater so read this review with that in mind.

Very tasty food, and very good service. This is take-out so don't expect to have dinner there. One dinner will easily feed two people with no leftovers.
