Plush Skin Care
Categories: Hair Removal, Skin Care
I went to Annette based on her Yelp reviews, which are right on by the way. I had had a bad experience for my very first Brazilian and went to Annette for my second. The difference was like night and day!!
She went over everything with me. She explained everything she was going to do before starting it and quickly put me at ease. She kept the conversation flowing the entire time and was mortified about my first experience once I had explained it to her.
From her new design of my eyebrows to my Brazilian she was meticulous and 1,000 times less painful than anything I have experienced before. She uses an awesome French blue wax that is unlike anything used on me previously. I was smooth, not sticky in the least, and know she got every hair as she took the time to tweeze anything missed by the wax itself. She genuinely cares about her client having the best experience, and really pays attention to detail.
By far the best waxing experience I have ever had!! Thanks for taking your time and being such an awesome, warm and intelligent woman Annette!! I will most certainly be back!! Oh and by the way...you are also husband approved!! :)
HIGHLY RECOMMEDED!!!
Well, this being my first Brazilian waxing and all I didn't know what to expect. I had been told it was painful, which I have been waxing my eyebrows for a long time, I know that isn't pleasant either and I figured with the nether regions being more sensitive pain was a give in.
Wow, did it HURT, and I have a very high tolerance for pain!!! There were times I thought I'd leap off the table. But, Amy kept a good conversation going and was personable so I figured she must know what she is doing. She actually told me between her and Kim they'd done more than 3500 Brazilians. (I think 3499 of those must've been Kim.)
Now, like I said, I didn't know what to expect. She started with strip wax at the top, and then for the lower areas used a wax that was white, thick and clumped on...she told me this was a special hard wax and that's why it did that.
After all was said and done, I was quite smooth...but in pain and extremely sticky. She offered me some baby wipes to clean up the stickiness, but that didn't seem to work. She told me this was normal and provided me with some free sample size packets of Dermologica soothing booster and told me to go home, shower, and apply the lotion.
So, it cost me $90 for the waxing and thinking this was a normal job, and that she had a good personality I tipped her $30 on top of that.
I went home, and as I got out of the car my shorts were sticking to me so bad they had to be literally pulled from my skin...but she said sticky was normal!?
I showered, applied the cream and ended up having my husband tell me there were a bunch of missed hairs inside the labia. OMG all that pain and there is still hair there!? But...again I didn't know if maybe they didn't wax in that far. Sigh.
Kim called me the next morning, and asked how my experience went. I told her it was painful but being my first experience didn't know what else to expect. I told her I though Amy had a warm personality though...that ended the conversation. Like I said, I didn't know better!!!
After talking with a friend about my experience, she told me none of that should've happened. From the clumped on wax, to the ultra sticky body, pain for three days afterwards and the missed hairs...she told me my experience was an AWFUL one.
Well, on Friday I went to a new place and had it done again. (Thanks to the Yelpers who recommended Annette at Plush) The difference was like day and night...no joke!! Not one single hair was missed, it was 1,000 times less painful, there was no sticky anything and she was mortified as I explained my first experience!!
I am so horrified that I spent a single cent at The Wax Bar, and that I had tipped so damn well on top of it.
Kim - your guarantee of Amy's work is a dangerous thing. I think maybe you should watch her a few times to see how she does it before you put yourself and your business out on the line that way...
All I can say now, is I wish I would've known better. :(
We won't buy our deli meat anywhere else; even if it is a little pricier, it is worth it for the freshness alone. Violet in the deli is awesome as well. She knows what we want the second we step foot into the deli section! :)
As far as the cashiers go; we have a select three that we will go to anytime we are there...Sarah has the warmest demeanor about her though. :)
Overall great service; minus one star for the times that I have gotten home without an item, and for some of the slower moving employees in what is a rapid paced environment.

Tuxedo Wearhouse

Not to mention the precise measurements James took when creating our sons look. When our son went in to pick up his tuxedo he was again treated very well, and he looked fabulous in his tuxedo!! Everything was clean, pressed and waiting.
So, $110 with a $30 discount is kind of high for a three day rental; however, we have paid a lot more for previous rentals and been disgusted with the service, fit and condition of the rentals.
The service was good; quick and prompt with our chips and salsa, drink order and water to go along. We ordered and got our food quickly as well.
Enchildas Suiza - good flavor, nice portion size, and the green sauce was good
Enchildas Carnitas - pork was a slightly overcooked in some areas, nice portion size, and the red sauce was ok
Overall the experience was a good one. We got a nice table and were in and out in less than an hour.
The place had a weird smell when we walked in, but having not been there before we looked at the menu on the wall and everything was pretty expensive. Mind you I am not cheap when it comes to food.
It was then that my co-worker and I looked at each other and both said at the same time "it smells like bad meat in here". We left and decided to go elsewhere. Maybe it was just a bad day for them, but how could anyone eat anything from this place when it smells like that? NOT ME!!
I told the guy at the counter about our experience at the Almaden location and he was quick to help. He actually told us the tires were still under warranty, something the Almaden location neglected to inform us of, and said they didn't have one in stock either, but could quickly order one and have it to us on Thursday. Well, because of his help and positive attitude, and since we were going to get new tires again soon anyway we went ahead and ordered all 4 new tires.
I must admit that I am a bit miffed though that they no longer carry the same tire as we had previously, which cost about $185 per tire, so an upgrade is in order to the tune of $250 per tire...but, they will prorate the warranty to the damaged tire and were willing to work with us intelligently.
I will go out of my way to obtain great customer service!!
We went in to have the tires rotated on my SUV as we had come back from a long road trip and I noticed it needed the rotation. We originally got our tires installed here about 2 years ago and get the tires rotated at least twice a year.
Anyway, 3.5 hours after dropping the truck off we got a call from the tire center saying there was a nail in the side of one of the tires, and they didn't have a replacement tire for it. They said they would not rotate the tires unless they put the mismatched spare tire on. My husband told them not to make any changes that we'd come down and pick it up and try taking it to a different Costco Tire Center to see if they had the tire. We were planning on getting new tires next month before the snow season got here anyway.
When we arrived 15 minutes later the spare tire was on the truck and they had NOT rotated the tires. Ok, I am so upset at this point because we had specifically told them NOT to put the spare on, but what made me even madder was that the guy said if they did put the spare on we WOULD get the tires rotated. They did exactly what we asked them NOT to do and still didn't rotate the tires!!!!
Now, I will write another Yelp for the Coleman Avenue store that we went to right after to see if they had the tire because the Almaden store REFUSED to contact them and ask. Is it sufficient to say the people at the Almaden store are morons who DON'T know what they are doing!?
EXPENSIVE...but the food was made to order and cooked right before our eyes. No funny business happens when you're watching. Hahaha.
Anyway we ordered burgers with bacon, and added the All American Meal Deal, which is adding fries and a soft drink for another $4.39 each...on top of the $6.99 for just the burger this place is a little on the steep priced side, but our food was good.

We just saw Christopher Titus here for the second time on Saturday night (11/14) and walked out in tears it was so funny. We have also seen Carlos Mencia, Henry Cho and some other big names here and always walk out glad we went.
With that being said, I think they need to hire a new staff, or get some training in how to conduct themselves the right way. The waiters and waitresses here are very curt, expect large tips even after you wait over 30 minutes for your drinks and have even been seen arguing with people about not splitting the tabs at a table of people who didn't attend together.
On Saturday we had tickets for three people and our guest was running a little late. They seated us at a table and I mentioned to them that our guest would be arriving shortly. The guy rudely quipped at me and said "then you should've left their name with the person at the door". Well guess what genius, nobody was at the door. They just directed our line straight in and started filling the tables. Then, my husband ordered the Chicken Strips as an appetizer...they came out barely warmed and were 4 tiny pieces for the $9 price tag. Then our drinks didn't come until 30 minutes into the show itself. Not sure if they were understaffed, but that was too long of a wait. We had just barely finished our first drink and they came around saying last call. What?
Poor service; long waits (always run about 30-45 minutes behind) and RUDE employees...but the comedians they book are off the hook!!
For best results: get your tickets for the first show of the evening and click the "dining in" tab so you can go 2 hours before the show starts. You will always get awesome seats and better service.
