Efficiency and communication isn't the Citrus Heights staff's strong point.
I don't need three phone calls from three different people to tell me that another person with the delivery company will call me later. I also don't need the delivery company rep to call me three times either.
Make a call list. Cross off each person you have called. Makes life easier when you're not doing a job that's already been done. Move on.
When I call to cancel the delivery and inquire about a refund, don't pass me around to different departments. This was my experience:
Me: "Hi. I'd like to cancel my order and be refunded."
Lowes: Yeah, I'll send you over to customer service.
Lowes, customer service: What did you order? A microwave? You need to talk to the appliance department.
Lowes, appliance department: Actually, customer service will handle your return.
Me: "Customer service just referred me to you."
Lowes, appliance department: Nope, the return has to be done by customer service. --- sends me back over to customer service.
"I need to have my refund for the microwave processed."
Lowes, customer service: Let me send you to appliances.
... FACE PALM.
Sadly, the first person I talked to was the store manager. I was left three voicemail messages that if I had any questions/concerns to ask to speak to the store manager. I did and ... that's what I got.
Finally ... finally ... the person in the appliance department asked to put me on hold and spoke with customer service. I don't know what the interaction between the two departments was like but it was enough to grant ME, THE CUSTOMER, the pleasure of having a disgruntled employee rudely take my return. Despite her rudeness, I said, "Thank you" at the end of the transaction and she just hung up on me.
On top of that? She shorted me $20. She returned my microwave but not the extended warranty that I had purchased. Why, now, would I not want that returned as well?
I noticed the shortage when I received the receipt for the return in the mail. I called in today and I was told my the associate that I would have to come into the store to do the return.
... FACE PALM.
Lowe's of Citrus Heights, teach your employees not the pass the buck. Why do I need to be inconvenienced because your employee made a mistake?
Explained that I was able to do the return over the phone. Said he'd call me back because he needed to sit down and look at everything first.
Really?
At this point, I don't even care about the shortage. I just paid $20 for Lowe's of Citrus Heights to teach me not to shop through their website and at this location again. Lesson learned.

Like the others have mentioned, skip the pasta go for the pizza. I lost rochambeau to my husband (paper gets rock EVERY TIME) and he ordered the cheeseburger pizza.
It tasted just like a Big Mac. True story. The waitress asked, "Doesn't it taste just like an In & Out burger?".
Nope. Big Mac. That's what it was.
Like another reviewer mentioned, the floors are filthy. The kid's corner was sticky as was the high chair. To be fair, we stopped in about an hour and a half before closing so that might have been residue from the dinner rush.
I inquired about a kid's menu and was told there wasn't one. I thought it was odd that they would have a whole stack of coloring books, high chairs and crayons but no separate menu for the little ones. I think they'd be able to make a killing with little to no cost. Pasta + butter + parmasean cheese. Slap a cartoon cat or something next to the option and charge $4.95. Or not.
Regardless, I hope to give this place another try. Maybe go earlier in the day and just alter a dish to fit a toddler palette. Remember: cheeseburger pie = BIG MAC.

My husband brought home food from here and we all loved it. We had the pancit bihon, bistek, pork sinigang and diniguan.
Anxious to try the kare kare. There aren't too many Filipino food options around here (and my attempts are laughable) so it's nice to know that we can pick up a few containers of home cooking here.

Photographers
Neighborhood: Natomas
My husband kept pestering me to make an appointment with a local photographer to take our family pictures. I found Kira through yelp after realizing that we couldn't make the trek out to the city to shoot with the photographer we used last year for who knows how long.
Kira was able to fit us in on the weekend. I must say, I didn't know what to expect. We knew she had talent and the price was just right but would she take good pictures of US?
After seeing a sneak peak of our pictures, I was put completely at ease.
She is phenomenal behind the lens. We shot at Gibson Ranch since we wanted a location that was dog-friendly (yup, the family pet got in the pictures!). It was quite windy that day and I was silently thinking that we might have to have a re-shoot since our dog wasn't cooperating and my daughter seemed more interested in picking up twigs and making sad faces than taking family pictures. Our hair was constantly in our faces and there was mud on my husband's shirt. I wasn't looking for cookie-cutter pictures where we were posed and perfect but I also didn't want us looking all messy-like. Messy-like makes me cranky. You don't want to know me cranky.
BUT, somehow, she managed to get US in the pictures. Her shots are more candid and I feel that's what made everything look so great. The best pictures were the ones where my daughter had a frown on and our dog was trying to run away. Our family is chaotic and she caught that ... and made it look GREAT.
We had an absolute great time with Kira, right from the hug when we first met down to getting spooked by the horses that kept wanting to nuzzle our ears. I am looking forward to seeing the rest of our pictures. My husband and I smile whenever we look at them. That's gotta say something, right?
Oh, and to top it off, Kira is incredibly sweet and genuine! After our shoot, she featured us on her blog and had such lovely things to say about our family. Thank you so much, Kira!
"No sir, I will not step on your back."
