A great place to share some drinks with friends and talk. Classic DUMBO as it has tons of space and an air of artsy coolness. The drinks prices are about average, as long as you dont let your girlfriend order the COSTMOpolitain (a 16$ cosmo).
Ive tried it once for dinner and was satisfied but not extremely impressed, though the ingredients were very fresh, the fish I had was underseasoned.
Im willing to give the food another shot, but I'll keep going back for the nice atmosphere.

Fascati Pizza

I grew up in the Heights and just moved back after a 6 year absence.
A lot has changed - new stores, more people, different resturaunts.
Fiscatis hasn't. Consitentley delicious and fresh pizza. The price of a slice has gone up (since I was 5) but thats about it.
Also, delicious italian ices in the summer.
Note: If you like toppings, best to order a pie - otherwise they just stick them on and put the slice in the oven again.

A little out of the way Japanese spot with some delicious food. We went as a detour from the Brooklyn Museum (about 8 blocks away).

The sushi was very fresh and the portions were very well sized. Prices were about average for good Brooklyn Japanese food. The pumpkin tempura (appetizer) was delicious as was the more traditional Sukiyaki.

The only detractor really was the service, which seemed a little spotty.

Tutt Cafe

Tutt Cafe is a hidden gem of fresh and delicious egyptian food hidden amongst brownstones on an entirely residential block. I've tried just about everything on the menu and you really cant go wrong. The choices for an entre are variations on a theme - sandwhiches, platters or pitzas of lamb, chicken, falafel, or vegetables. A pitza is a Pizza made with a pita crust and not necessarily with cheese. A single pitza can be eaten by one person - and thats a big portion.

I really cant convey how amazing the pita is here. I lived in Israel for a year, and this is the only pita I've had in New york that compares. It comes out hot and fresh, straight from the large brick ovens. Also make sure to sample the babaganouj which has more flavor then every package of store bought baba you've ever bought COMBINED.

My only complaint is that I wish there were specials or more choices on the menu so that I could justify going there more.

Brawta Cafe - CLOSED

We were looking for something a little different for Dinner and Brawta was definitely it. The food was well seasoned, interesting, and flavorful, with decent size portions. I got the Jerk Chicken and Kat got the Chicken in Brown sauce which came recommended. Though both chicken dishes they were completely different tastes but equally delicious.

My complaints about the place are mainly about the service. After putting our order in we waited more than 15 minutes before our appetizer, a very tasty but very reheated, beef patty came out. It was another 20 minutes before our main courses came out and both dishes weren't very hot. I kept trying to get the waitress's attention to get more water, but to no avail. I'll give her a little break because she was the only one working the floor, but this is a pretty small place and their were only 3 other couples sitting when we were there.

Overall, I'll give it another try because the food was good, and there aren't really a whole lot of sit down Jamaican food spots.
Also note that the prices on their website seem a little outdated, I was surprised to sit down and find everything to be 1-2$ more.
