ok... what can I say... this place is gastly.
First the decor is straight out of the late 80s, "lets paint everything a different shade of pink and green" era. The carpets are leftovers from some terrible vegas hotel.
1. Beds... hard, springy, uncomfortable.
2. Room... tv small, bill large, wi-fi didn't work, ever... plug in got me on but it was $9 a day... for internet.. get real.
3. Environmentals... room was hot... never got cool and there was lots of dust.
4. Other... no valet... what the? who is going to park their car a 1/2 mile away in the heat? In room checkout system didn't work. Only one bank of elevators and god help you if you have a room far from them... its a damn maze and a long walk.
I won't be staying here... too much for too little... could have stayed at the colony for 40 more... stupid me... that's my lesson in saving money.

I probably would have passed this place by, if not for the fact that I was meeting some friends there. Not that its not visually appelling... but I'm not a fancy restaurant guy when Im in the desert.
Seated right away... service was prompt... they did forget one of my jack and cokes... but they fixed that as soon as it was pointed out. Had this giant 14oz steak... medium... a little more fat than I like but the taste was awesome. The twiced baked potato was small and I was hungry so a larger portion for that would have been great.
My girlfriend had the snapper... she's not a snapper fan... and neither am I but it was very good and served with just enough butter to taste it but not overwhelm the flavor of the fish.
oh dessert... the bread pudding... its not on the menu... but its fabulous...

Nice spot... still sort of undiscovered by the masses, great deep drinks, decent prices. Hot people. What more do you want.
Sidebar was close for a private party which I talked my way into and its a nice spot that I think would be great when the general public would be allowed in.

Food was great! The staff was good to us... and the waitress was hot.... daisy duke shorts woo hoo... but they lose a star for the price. Damn BLT was 16 + and my iced tea was 2 so for a sandwich and my time 18!!! x3 ouch ... 60 for lunch for 3 people...
Probably won't go back... maybe for beers or something... not paying for that...

Ok... from the reviews I was expecting better. Maybe it was because we went at 9pm... but whatever it was, the food was nothing special. I had the garbage burrito... my significant other.. she had the special burrito. Was not impressed... neither was she... Oscars is much better. Its good for the price, food is cheap.
Its a two in my book... I'll try it again some other day see if it gets better...

Ok we found this place on 111, when we found out that Las Casuelas Nueva was closed for remodeling. It look good from the street.
Inside is nice and bright. Its family owned and you can tell Mom and Dad at the register and servers seem to be some relation to them.
Took them forever to get me an Iced tea, my girl's margarita came before my tea... and the pitcher of tea was in right in my line of sight... I must have done something to her in a pervious life.
I had the chile verde burrito and Enchilldas Suza for the lady. Both came looking like typical mexican restaurant fare. The verde sauce was good but the pork was in these horrible hard chunks, the report on the Suza is pretty much the same.
Probably won't go back given the other options in the area...

Gotta give it up to this place. I had ordered lunch for one of my clients from Portos right across the street, however they lost my order, which really pissed me off, but hey, I still have a customer and I need to get the damn lunch going. So I walked across the street and here I am.
I order 24 sandwiches right before the lunch rush and the lady behind the counter mouth almost dropped when I placed my order... however they all pitched in and I was out of this place in 12 mins flat with hot sandwiches, chips and cookies.. and spent less than if I would have gone to portos.

This place is really off the beaten path, on 5th and Palm in Highland. If you don't know where that is... well join the club... didn't even know there was anything there until I found this place.
Place is decorated like a 50's diner and has the usual red and white tile and lots of stainless. Lots of waitresses with tattoos... which doesn't bother me that much, but it took our server two tries to get our order down... she was nice thou and kept the coffee flowing :)
My girl was in the mood for a waffle and Jenny's didn't disappoint, she had the strawberry waffle w/ lots of whipped cream... really yummy, tasted just like a funnel cake. I had the pancake sandwich, which for the unaquinted is two pancakes w/ fried eggs in between, and here is why they got the 3 stars instead of 4. The pancakes were a little dark... there was some char on on of my cakes and it spoiled the whole experience.
I believe the place warrants a second visit.
