I was a big fan of Taste of Thai in Ridgewood. Regrettably, they have closed. Yelp should update their records to reflect this

I enjoyed Chima very much as did my dinner companions, my 11 year old sons M & B.  I've been to probably a 1/2 dozen or so similar type restaurants in cities around the country and Chima compared favorably versus the others.  The quality and flavor of the meats were top notch.  I liked that we were given a menu card that described and pictured each of the dozen or so meat, poultry and seafood options.  We were asked regularly (but not annoyingly so) if there is anything that hadn't come around recently that we would like to have. That was a nice touch.  One of the other reviewers mentioned a "a little hand-held wireless device" that was used to place requests.  I didn't notice this, but maybe it was in use.  Whatever, the service was top notch and the good stuff kept on coming.  In addition to the meats, the cheese bread, mashed potatoes and fried bananas were all big hits at our table.

The only negative (really more of a lack of a positive) was the selection at the salad bar.  At other restaurants of this sort I've found shrimp and smoked salmon on the "salad" bar and was looking forward to these options. Alas, they weren't available this evening.  Well, that just left more room for other things.

Bottom line - really enjoyed Chima and would go back next time I'm in Philly.

Dinardo's Famous Seafood

We made reservations at home before coming to Philly. Brian, one of my 11 YO sons, had a hankering for crabs. The menu on the web site shows that they are offered in 4 sizes (regular, large, jumbo and extra jumbo). The menu has a long explanation as to why Dinardos is able to source these large crabs when other joints don't have them. So Imagine our surprise in finding out, after we were seated that, tonight they only had "small" crabs available.  I asked, "you mean regular, right?" and was told "no, what we have tonight are smaller than regular.  Let me show you."  The waitress brought one out and said "see, they are small.  Might not be worth the effort for the amount of meat you'll get from one of these."  We agreed. After a few minutes of planning what to do, we got up and left without ordering.  We went instead to Chima, a Churrascaria-style steak house.  We had a fabulous meal there.

Stopped in here for dinner with two of my sons tonight after a long day of seeing the sights.  We were drawn by the nice outdoor seating areas on this beautiful day.  Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the setting.  I had a pretty mediocre "Corned Beef Special" sandwich.  My sons had the penne with vodka sauce.  The kids thought it was OK, but I thought to me the sauce was reminiscent of Chef Boyardee.  On the plus side, the service was good and, like I said, the setting was very nice.  Go, but leave your high expectations at home.

Good location
Don't valet park. Use open lot 1 block away.
Nice rooms.
Happy hour was pretty sad - long line at bar wasn't worth the wait.
Lame but typical breakfast.

I entered the Spy Museum with very low expectations and these were further diminished by the hokey first exhibit room where we were asked to pick our cover identity. It was all up hill from there. The exhibits were both entertaining and educational. It was equally enjoyable for adults and for my boys (11 and 14).

We booked a stay here because we couldn't trade our timeshare week for anything in New England. I am really glad things worked out they way they did.

We are staying on the "Woodstone" section, which I am told is the most recent construction a the resort. So new that it still had that smell of being recently painted in the lobby common areas.

The unit we stayed in was a very large 2BR with 2 full baths. One BR had a king size bed and the other two twin beds. There was also a sleeper sofa in the living room.  One bathroom had a large two person jacuzzi tub and a separate shower. The other bathroom had a more standard shower over a normal size tub.

Of course, we picked the ideal week during the ideal year.  "President's Week" in February was ideal because the nearby schools weren't on vacation, so the crowds were very light.  Ideal year because of the tremendous amount of snow this winter.  The skiing might disappoint someone used to Colorado or Vermont, but for a first ski trip with our boys (11 and 14) it was plenty challenging and enjoyable.

We were surprised by the prices of the food in the lodge at the mountain.  In a good way - the prices were very reasonable.

We spent one day at the indoor water park.  They claim constant balmy water and air temperatures year round, but we found both the water and air colder than we would have liked.  Still, the kids had a great time.  The adults were a bit bored.

Bottom line is that we liked the place very much and will definitely consider returning.

Was here today for lunch. Bit of a wait for a table but it was worth it. for starters we had the hummus which was fine - tasty but really nothing special. The new England clam chowder was about as good as I've had anywhere. Clams, potato and bacon in proper proportions. Creamy and thick. For mains we had crab cake sandwich and pot roast (brisket) sandwhich. Both of the sandwhiches were really good. We will definitely be going back.

Andretti Indoor Karting & Games

Totally lame. The video arcade is well past it's prime. Many games out of order. Many that are years(!) old.  Nothing that seemed of recent vintage. Then on to the Karts. We were on the junior track because my kids are under 16. The karts were pretty cool and the oval track was still fun. However, even with all accelerators floored, the karts were totally mismatched, with the fastest about 2x faster than the slowest. This blew the concept of "racing" out the window since it was so unfair.

All in all the place has deteriorated greatly since the last time I was here maybe 6 or 7 years ago. I'd suggest going elsewhere for fun. This was an expensive disappointment.
