Fantastic pedicures every time- the ladies take their time and give a great massage too (best part). Its clean, prices are fair, rarely ever a wait, great selection of colors and the ladies ACTUALLY speak English... not that im racist or anything, but I typically like to have conversations with people who are providing me with a nice service and most of these types of establishments lack this "feature".. jus sayin'...

This place is also kid friendly, but just make sure if your child decides to smear his own shit all over the bathroom walls, that you offer to clean it up yourself.. apparently this happened and the owner was none too pleased when the customer/mother walked out without taking care of it herself.. some people are goddamn appalling...

These tacos are so disgusting they're amazing. I swear they are filled with cat food.. the BEST, cheesiest, greasiest cat food. Total hole in the wall, no where to sit and dirty as sin, but worth it!! I used to hold Jack n' the Box tacos pretty high and these are similar, but 100x better. Definitely get some when you're auctioning at Denio's.

Cameo 1900 MAY just be my favorite restaurant in Wilmington. My husband and I absolutely love coming here, especially on Thursday nights when they have their live jazz band and whiskey cocktails on discount.. I mean really, what is better than a Manhattan or Bourbon rocks mixed with funky beats after a hard day at the office.. Now, I will warn you, you may be calling out of work the next day due to the massive hangover you will probably have because they drinks are so cheap, but whatever, you deserve it.

The tapas.. oh my god, the TAPAS. AmazingaZING! I am almost positive we have tried every single one they have to offer, and have never once looked at each other and said, "ew" or "never again".. everything is either amazing or above average, even the Crocodile! I would say my favorites were the cheese plate, brown sugar and bourbon baby back ribs, crispy lobster spring rolls, tuna tartar and skirt steak.. however, like I said, all of them are yummy and unique in their own way. Decently priced as well. Their wine list is awesome, and the ambiance is honestly my favorite part about Cameo. The decor is so funky, and the booths for larger parties are awesome. Even the bar has a sweet vibe to it if you're just looking to meet a date for drinks.

Loved the staff, we once ventured here with once of my husbands friends who knew one of the owners.. He was so rad and gave us free samples of their homemade ice cream. So freakin' good!

Definitely check out Cameo, its the coolest place I've been to in this area so far, and I have pretty high foodie standards If I do say so myself. The city snob in me IS allowed to shine through once in a while, and honestly, if I were still a big city girl and Cameo was there, I would still, totally go, afterall, I am the Cameo Yelp Duchess ;o)

I used to be the mayor of Nofo on Foursquare until some asshole who uses their dogs picture as a primary photo stole it away from me. I don't know why this bothers me so much, maybe its because I no longer live across the street, and maintaining my supreme social status here is going to be difficult to keep, but let me tell you, when this wasn't the case, I at at this place almost every other day, and if I wasn't eating there, I was in their gift shop buying everything that looked interesting, which was 98% of its contents. Goddamn that was a long sentence..

Anyway, if you're looking for an eclectic mix of menu options, you've come to the right place.  This place is great for days when you are with a group of friends who cant agree on anything except blowing all your hard earned money on the overpriced shops at The Forum.. there is a little something for everyone at this joint. I myself am a huge fan of the Black Bean quesadilla.. I don't know what kind of cheese is in it, but it is magical in your mouth. The chicken pot pie is amazing. Their soups are wonderful, and their salads are so fresh. There are seafood options for the fish lover and lots of poultry & beef selections offered as well. The interior is a little weird, it reminds me of what an 8 year olds room would look like had they chosen a fish theme. I like it though, its bright and makes me smile and you have to option to purchase the cute little fish paintings that are hanging everywhere, I remember thinking they were severely overpriced, but this place is located in THE FORUM, what the Hell else would you expect?

I absolutely adore their little market. The first time I ever came into NOFO was because I was searching for 8th Wonder Spice Blend, and Google told me that they carried it, so I drove all the way from North Topsail just for spice rub. It was totally worth it though. They also carry all kinds of yummy scented candles, minimal clothing, soaps, jams, pickled shit, jewelry, toys and a $3500 chandelier that I am dying to own. Again, something for everyone. A tad pricey, but again, FORUM.

Check this place out, I promise you will love it too.

FINALLY!  I have found a spot in Wilmington that serves Pho! And its not just mediocre.. its actually quite delicious. Do you understand how happy this makes my heart, especially when I am sick and sad and trying to cope with a deployed husband? Not even my XL sweat pants can make me feel as warm and loved as their Pho.. The other menu items are pretty delicious as well, and the staff are pretty swell group of very nice human beings. My only complaint is the janky location, which is wicked deceiving from the street view.

Totally recommend this place for Asian cuisine.. its looks like a shit hole on the outside, but once you're inside, its totally different, and worth checking out. I have yet to find a place in WIlmington that compares to Banyan when it comes to Asian cuisine.

Where do I even begin with you? I literally love everything about you. You make my heart happy and my palate even happier with your fabulous French cuisine. You satisfy my alcoholic needs with your bartenders' more than healthy pours and delicious martinis. You are even there for me with your $5 bar menu when I am broke and sad. You are located in the coolest area of Wilmington and your decor and vibe allow me to escape the reality, that I am, in fact, stuck in Wilmington. You are one of the reason my life here in NC doesn't suck as much as my city dwelling friends like to believe it does. What do those assholes know anyway?  One time I fell down your stairs after a bourbon fueled evening and you know who helped me up?? One of your amazing waiters. He didn't even laugh at me either. He actually told me to come back soon. You know what else happened once? Your hostess hooked up one of my closest friends for his birthday with a $30 tab on $230 worth of food & beverage because he was deploying. What an angel. You are practically perfect in every way.. You accommodate, appreciate and love me and my friends with your whole heart and in return, we all love you back. Forever and ever more..

This place is a pregnant girls wet dream, and luckily for me - I happen to be pregnant and its less than a 3 minute drive away!

The  tiny human that is growing inside my belly is literally kicking the crap out of me as I eat this delicious concoction I created at the Fuzzy Peach today. I like to believe that this means he likes it, as he does it with everything else I find delicious.

They have about 6 different flavors to choose from on any given day and an entire bar full of candies, chocolates, fruits, cereals, and soft & crunchy things alike, to add to your favorite flavor. Today I went for the banana because I crave the shit out of banana anything these days. I also added a dollop of vanilla, because that is usually my favorite, yes, I know, I am usually boring in the frozen treat dept. To top it off, I added a load of gummy bears, because frozen gummy bears are awesome, white chocolate chips, fresh peaches and sprinkles. It is awesome. I wish I had gallons and gallons of this to nosh on all day long, because lets face it, there is no other time in my life when eating like a cow will be acceptable.

Go here now. Its summer, the people that work here will make you smile and the possibilities are endless.. Oh, and if you see a redheaded pregnant girl in a maxi dress with an orange spoon, furiously mowing on frozen gummy bear yogurt, say hey, because that would be me.

How refreshing it is to know that once my pregnant ass is no longer with child, I will have a decent studio to get my back-piece finished! I came in here the other day with a girlfriend of mine who was staking out a new shop to get her work done, and was pleasantly surprised with Hardwire.

This shop is huge and everyone that works here, or at least that was working this past Wednesday, is totally f-ing rad. I HATE HATE HATE when you walk into a shop and the artists treat you like you're retarded or invisible. Not here. These guys literally sat and shot the shit and talked tattoos with us for over an hour. They were extremely knowledgeable and professional and answered all the questions we had and more. We browsed through every artists portfolio and we both found ourselves an artist that will suit our styles. They will even draw up your idea at no charge, and seemingly can get you scheduled for a session fairly quickly, sometimes same day. My girlfriend will start her piece next week.

Although I have about 10 months before I will be able to finish the piece my late artist started back in 2002, I have found the man who will do it, who is super psyched about it just as much as I am. I love this and I am so anxious!

I also stopped in here this afternoon for a new nose stud and although I have not personally had anything pieced by their respective piercer, she was very nice in helping me find the perfect stud and let me use her mirror.

Bravo Hardwire, for proving that there are still talented friendly artists out there who aren't complete assholes with a God complex!

After a busy day downtown lunching and shopping and having a me day, I have been inspired to get rid of half of my wardrobe to help take a LARGE load off my upcoming move. I decided this after I ventured into one of my favorite consignment stores and found a bunch of new pieces I believe I cant live without.. so instead of going crazy today, I just finished bagging everything up, sifting through my old jewelry and scarves and getting it all organized to take tomorrow in hopes of either a fat store credit, or some extra cash to play with. A lot of the stuff I am parting with has been with me for a decade, so I kind of feel a little weird saying goodbye, but the way I see it, out with the old, in with the new.

They don't have a store full of mall crap either.. in fact, they don't accept most of the brands you would find in a mall, think, American Eagle, Abercrombie, etc.. and thank God for that!

Check this place out if you are ever in Downtown Wilmington.. The staff are really nice and helpful and will even calculate discounts before purchase for the mathematically challenged like myself :)  They have new pieces as well, the prices are killer and they have a sale rack that is out of control.

I recently relocated myself, yet again.. to the beaches of North Carolina. Ive come to terms with the fact that I cannot sit still to save my life, and the time had come again, to find a new place to reside..

Now we all know that with moving comes the searching for new places to love.. well let me tell you, Surf City North Carolina has MINIMAL options. It is a small island that is generally vacant November-May, so most places are closed for the off season. Lucky for me though, there is one place that is not closed that I have chosen to make my go to watering hole.. The Brass Pelican.

Its totally divey, fully equip with karaoke night, hula hoops, pool, bags, a large outdoor patio, super fun bartenders and every time I go in there is something cooking for everyone to eat, pot luck style.

Watch out for vomit though, people who enter the Brass never leave sober, or even coherent, and I guess the only negative thing I could say is that the last two times I was there, vomit was spewed across the floor. Barf.

Anyway I totally dig this joint.. Get the Cody Special if you enjoy rum, and you can thank me later!
