Try
Sexy Scallop: chopped bits of scallop love with spicy (SPICY!) sauce and cool soy paper wrapping. Sort of like an oyster shooter but better.
Sashimi: some how the pieces of sashimi here KILL sashimi at any other place I've ever been to. They are like sashimi steaks, buttery enough to cut with chopsticks, and you will have to the serving size is gigantic.
Baby Lobster Handroll: like an east coast lobster roll took a vacation in japan. Truly decadent.
At Sushi Bistro there is a cloud of deliciosity floating overhead. Here lives one of my favorite things to eat in the world: The Big Island Roll. Best girlfriend and I are sushi freaks, there is almost no time we don't want sushi. Really. The Big Island is cool, calm, briney, and slippery. A thick circle of cucumber curl is stuffed with smooth peppered crab and various slices of raw fishies: SALMON, TUNA, YELLOWTAIL, TOBIKO and AVOCADO. It is magical. It is life changing. It is the roll to which all other rolls should be compared.

Dosa on Valencia
Category: Indian
Neighborhood: Mission
This is the best brunch I have ever had.
(should I stop there?)
This food feeds my heart. Spicy tangy sweet Fiery Fruit. So good when with friends I order my own and one to share. The south Indian coffee is one of the best things ever in my mouth. Like some magical melted coffee ice cream warm in a cup, just for me.
The best way to get your eggy potatoey brunch on is he Egg Poriyal Dosa with a Masala Dosa. Spicy potatoes in a smooth creamy coconut dipping sauce sound good? Chivey egg in pancake with sweet tomato or spicy lentil sauces? The only thing better is the Cilantro and Tamarind sauces that come with the Pani Puri, which is like a create your own mouth orgasm, TRUST.
I want to bathe in those sauces.
Recently I went out of my comfort zone after watching a table next to me giggling while eating the Dahi Batata Puri and tried it. Think: crispy shells with cool yogurt inside with a sweet sauce. A perfect bite of brekkie as far as I am concerned.
Sure sure, atmosphere, excellent service, reasonable price. But the food...sigh....

The Plant is one of my staples. It always impresses with fresh, healthy, tasty food. Fig and goat cheese toasts? Yes. Best veggie burger ever? Yes. Vegan oatmeal cookie that makes my knees weak? YES!
TIPS: try the veggie burger with out the bun, the lemon flax seed dressing is awesome, and the hummus plate is good when needing some serious comfort.

Jacob Johnson, MD
Category: Ear Nose & Throat

So I was more than disappointed when about a month ago I had what I felt was a serious ear and sinus infection, I knew Dr Johnson would be the perfect man to see, as a I don't have an internist yet. Again I was greeted on the phone in a less than friendly way. The woman on the other end of the phone clearly ( and rudely ) told me there was NO WAY I could see the doctor, and even if she could I would have to wait a few hours even if I came in. She literally sounded like a 12 year old brat telling her mom how un-cool doctors are. She sounded like a mean bully. She tried to get me off the phone as quick as possible and when I asked her what other options a person with out insurance has, she answered in a short and concise way " ummmm...go to the ER." As far as I am concerned the ER is not a place for a sinus infection, and especially not for the uninsured. Granted I know receptionists are not care providers, and I know receptionists are human beings and have bad days like the rest of us, but I felt her attitude and demeanor were out of line and definitely out of sync with Dr Johnson and his demeanor. If in fact Dr Johnson is so busy he cannot take appointments at all that is more than understandable but the staff should be more accommodating to that or at least more helpful or even less rude about telling me I wont be seeing him if that is the case.
I will not call again, and I will not attempt to make an appointment again.
