This is a beautiful park with lots of something for everyone. We walked along a shaded trail and passed a wonderful playground, tons of grassy areas, wandered along the creek, saw the tennis courts, skateboard area and BMX bike park on our way to the doggie park.
The dog park was well done - some shady areas, enough grass and trees and water to keep a dog happy on a hot day and friendly people who were cleaning up after their dogs. I'm so happy we parked at the wrong end and got to see the whole park. What a gem!

3.5 stars for this nice doggie park in Redding. I was happy to visit in September and find green grass, doggie wading pools and happy well socialized dogs for my puppy to play with. Its not too far off I5 and if you are traveling with your well behaved canine, this is a great place to stop.
Please bring Cafe Yumm to San Francisco. We need you! I just noticed that Yumm sauce can be purchased to go. Had I known that I would have brought a ridiculous amount back to the bay area with me. I had the regular bowl and it was so tasty. I considered returning to Eugene the next day for just one more meal (even though I was an hour away).
An ok hotel at a decent price that is very pet friendly (no fee, no deposit). The staff is very friendly, the rooms are clean, there are a number of options at breakfast and I doubt you will find a much better deal for a single night on the road. The hotel itself is a bit dated and the mattresses are worn - both hindering a better rating and/or making this a place to stay for a longer visit to the Roseburg area.
This is a great hotel (and not just for the Redding area), eco-friendly in a modern, luxurious (and pet friendly!) way. The rooms are large and quiet, the beds had wonderful linens, good mattresses, big screen TV and the AC works well on those hot summer days. The bathroom is large, cool and inviting and the products are Gilbert and Soames.
The grounds are nicely landscaped and the ponds add a nice cooling touch. The whole design fits nicely into the northern California setting, the staff is as nice and professional as it gets and the breakfast includes a number of very tasty options. Highly recommend!

This restaurant is attached to the Gaia Hotel. I ate here twice - both times calling in the order from my room and walking over to pick up.
The ahi salad was very good - lots of ahi, lots of greens, easily a full meal. First night I had cheesecake with it. Good cheesecake, fluffier and lighter than most but still very tasty. The second night I had the cinnamon ice cream. Another tasty treat. The ambiance of the restaurant is good - quiet enough to easily carry on a conversation but not so quiet that every other table will here you if you are talking.

These are the guys for the job!
I'm pretty anal about moves and move planning (I never pack til the last minute but I do rock the planning piece of the move. After checking and cross checking severl move companies (yes, on a spreadsheet and includes BBB and Yelp ratings, cost, general impression from phone calls and more I selected YSM. They are awesome - fastt, professional, personable, helpful when I asked questions - just everything you could want when using movers.
5 star company, 5 star team -- happily and highly recommend them!

Sheraton Gateway San Francisco Airport Hotel - CLOSED

The dog and I had a really good experience at this Sheraton. The location is nice, along the bay trail, on a lagoon, close to the airport and downtown Burlingame.
The front desk staff was impersonal but not rude and fixed a billing error in all of five seconds. The lobby and other public areas are nicely done and the elevators (all 5) were in great order.
The room was big and private, clean (expect the external windows), had a great comfy bed, a spacious bathroom and large TV. Room service arrived quickly and was very passable. The windows seemed about noise proof but can also be opened , yay, fresh air in a hotel.
Add a very dog friendly policy (80 pounds) and we had a hit.
I would happily stay here again - kind of has something for everyone (even the dog) and rates well above most airport hotels in the same price range.

Really liked this hotel. While I'm not a fan of Sac, this hotel is the place to stay if you are going to visit. The rooms are big with large windows, nice views and comfy window seats. Everything was super clean, large bathroom with Bliss products. And they welcome dogs. Service is quite solid - room service within 30 minutes or free, requests at the front desk are actually taken care of and the staff is very professional and service oriented.
The location is pretty nice - easy walk to the Capitol grounds, window shopping on K street and you can head straight down to Old Sac (unless its 115 degrees out.
Oh yes, beds are nice - good linens, the tv is large and internet connection speedy.

The apartment was nice - layout spacious, good washer and dryer and I didn't hear much noise from my neighbors. Having seen the train and freeway when I first looked at the place, I wasn't surprised to find that I could hear them both.
The elevator was pretty slow, and yes, the notices from the office were all in desperate need of spell/grammar check (and common sense) but for the most part, I didn't have complaints about the apartment, the building or the staff.
The neighborhood is a little barren in spite of the lofts and other buildings in the area and I didn't like the walk to BART (I'm kind of a chicken about that stuff). But there are lots of events at Jack London Square that generally help the neighborhood.
