Pretty decent place to get greasy Chinese food to satisfy my Cantonese craving. They are the typical "Hong Kong style diner" that serves up all sorts of goodies.... Fusion dishes with spaghetti, chow fun, fried rice, gravy sauces with stuff over rice.

I usually tire of Panera so I get the occasional beef chow fun craving and come here for that. Siracha on the side and I have lunch for two days!

HOLY BEJESUS! I made an appointment to come and get a new license and showed up this morning. Walking in, the line snaked around... and felt a pit of dread. Until I realized that was the line for "No appointments." I quickly hopped into the line for the smart ones that made an appointment and waited less than 5 minutes before I got my forms and a number, F011. Thankfully as I was filling out the paper work they already called F010 and by the time I had just started to warm up the chair I was sitting in, my number flashed on the screen. I went to the designated window and within 10 minutes they were done and I was sent over to window 18 for a new photo. The sad part is that driving tests + picture taking was the same line.... so I left and came back during my lunch time to get my photo taken. No line! YIPPEE! Plus the picture guy was nice enough to let me see the picture they took. Whew. I don't look THAT horrendous....

People here are super friendly and seem happy to work here and I was pleasantly surprised at how efficiently this place was being run. Totally different from the Santa Clara location. I think I'm a fan!

Mogo is a NO-GO for me. I ordered the short rib burrito and it was filled GENEROUSLY with kimchi fried rice. They were so generous on the rice that the meat to rice ratio was significantly off. Go figure. Rice is cheap. Meat's not. Not only was there PLENTY of rice.... the rice wasn't cooked well! It wasn't close to al dente, and the centers were still crunchy. Yuck! No thanks! I ended up tossing it and split an order of the hot dog instead. That's the only decent passable edible thing I had from the truck.

Impressive for the concept but Kogi has been around longer... and it's much better. Failure on the effort part especially when they couldn't even cook rice correctly.

How does this place stay in business?! We walked in for lunch around 1:30 and was blatantly ignored. I stood by their "Please wait for hostess to seat you" sign and waited.... Some chicky poo server was running plates around and I waved her down and she ignored me. Okay..... So there's no hostess stand and no hostess. I greeted the sushi chef and he said "someone will seat you." A good five minutes go by and I'm about to walk out. Finally some guy comes down from the stairs, makes eye contact with me, grabs 4 menus and walks towards me. Asks me "how many?" And I gesture "two. I take a step towards him thinking that I'm about to get seated when he grabs the plate on the sushi counter and proceeds to deliver it to a table. I finally snapped at him, "Are you going to seat me?!" And he proceeds to say "I need to go upstairs to see if there's a table available." Um. WTF. He just CAME from upstairs 2 minutes ago?!!?! I update my Yelp Quick Tips in major frustration at their incompetence and lack of service. If my mom wasn't in the bathroom at the time, we would have booked across the street or selected a different place.

We ordered two rolls and the hamachi kama with the same clueless server and waited. No less than 5 minutes go buy and another girl comes over and asks "did you order?" and we nod. She then goes "What did you order?" And I finally lost it. I told her that I ordered with the other guy and they need to figure out how to get their right hand to talk to their left hand. Idiots.

Food was decent; hamachi kama was a generous portion for the price. The joy king roll was good along with the caterpillar roll. The only downside was that they used hard stale uncrunchy thick seaweed in the roll which made for biting into it taste like plastic. Not to mention their flying fish roe was strangely rubbery and had an odd texture.  The menu features lots of rolls, smothered in various sauces. Next time I want sushi, I'm heading back to Sushi Tomi in Mountain View, where its clean, simplistic and features amazing fish that can stand up on its own without having to be masked in some "special sauce."

If only the food and service looked as good as their pictures.

I learned my lesson. The one time I finally deviated from my rule of refusing to eat at a non-Japanese owned Japanese restaurant and I paid the consequences. Ugh!

How this food truck stays in business is beyond me. I had them at the Edgewood Eats gathering and Hubs got their garlic noodles with a chicken skewer. The portions here are outrageously small for what they're charging. $7.50 for a small portion of boiled egg noodles tossed in what tasted like fake butter and garlic powder. Pathetic. The noodles themselves aren't very tasty - definitely on the gummy tasteless side and the garlic flavor was nothing compared the yummy noodles you can get at their stand along restaurants. Greasy gummy mess. Yeche! A skewer for nearly three dollars... 10+ dollars wasted at the worst food truck there was. For an additional 5 bucks on top of what I spent, I could have gotten a lobster roll.... At least the base ingredients are worth something and go a farther way to justify the cost.

An the Go, Fool me once. Shame on you. You won't fool me twice. I'm staying far away from this truck! It's nothing like the food they serve at the restaurants! I'm taking my 10 bucks and getting 3 Chairman Baos instead... at least pork belly actually costs something! Noodles? Dirt cheap. Random garlic flavoring? Probably just as cheap. Definitely does not justify the $7.50... maybe $3-4. Definitely not $7.50. Tastewise? Not even worth $3.

Update - 1/16/2012
Updating my review for Dr. Chien... she truly is awesome. I came in a few months ago and saw a NP that was assisting her and my follow up appointment was with Dr. Chien. She went over previous items and gave me a much needed referral. She cares about not only her patients, but cares for their entire well being. Even though it was more than a year since the last visit, she remembered me and remembered personal details.

I still highly recommend Dr. Chien and this clinic!

Trying to find a doctor to take care of my sensitive womanly issues is a really big deal. One uneasy appointment and it's enough to scare me away from going back to do my needed exams. After I moved to Palo Alto, I scoured Yelp and the web trying to find a good clinic and a good doctor to take care of my womanly needs.

I wanted a doctor that was excellent and had plenty of experience, but I didn't want one that was "near retirement age" so I could find that ONE doctor and be a lifelong patient.

I found Dr. Chien after reading great Yelp reviews about her and reading up on the Woman's Care Medical Group that she belongs to. Some highly rated doctors belong to medical groups that had less than stellar reviews but Woman's Care had solid reviews for the medical group and all the doctors in it.

Dr. Chien was warm and friendly and I can not say enough great things about her. She was thorough, empathetic, and understanding when discussing my medical history with her. She was not rushed, distracted, and genuinely cares about her patients. She addressed all of my questions and concerns and I felt that I could express my health concerns as if talking it over with a friend at a coffeeshop.

Appointments are bit hard to come by so if it is for things that can be scheduled, I call ahead of time so that I can get an appointment time that is convenient for me.

    HIGHLY recommended!!!

I had the unfortunate experience of booking a US Airway flight to only find out later that it was operated by United. Worst experience EVER. US Airways wouldn't confirm my seat and referred me to the operating airline - United. I contacted United and they couldn't locate my reservation and sent me back to US Airways.

Back and forth.. and back and forth until US Air guaranteed me that I'd have a seat; I just needed to show up on the day of the flight. I show up; and United confirms I have a seat but not before EVERYONE gets on the plane. The last time I checked; code shares don't work like this. Nor did I pay full price to get shitty service and seats relegated to standby customers.

NEVER AGAIN. United. You disgust me with how you treat your interline partner relationships.

Pho Garden

I like quality over quantity. This place is famous for their pho challenge which is served in a bowl large enough to bathe a child in.

We've never given the pho challenge a try but stick with the normal dishes on the menu. In the past visits, I've had:

Goi Cuon - Spring rolls, highly over priced for the amount you get. Maybe I was spoiled growing up in San Jose... shrimp needs to be deveined better. I don't like eating shrimp poop.

Combination pho - I like being able to pick and choose the meats. It's called "Pho Garden" not "Preset Pho Bowls in a Garden"

Bun Bo Hue - Acceptable version; can pass for it especially when I don't want to drive to SSJ to get the really good stuff.

Com Suon - Okay, portions are small for the prices. Highly Americanized and doesn't taste as good as the restaurants that are more "authentic.

Garlic Noodles - Absolutely disgusting. They were overcooked, limp and gummy sprinkled with dried garlic powder.

There's a reason why we came here a few times and haven't gone back.

MMMmmmm! We walked in here on a whim and didn't regret it!

I ordered the Karahi chicken and it was juicy and had some great spice to it. Hubs ordered the Chicken Tiki Masala and we had garlic naan and Palak Paneer as our veggie.

Dinner portions were generous and the naan was delicious.

I'm a huge fan of Karahi Chicken and it's more of a Northern Indian dish so a lot of Indian restaurants don't prepare it. The version here is delicious and a must try! :)

Prices are reasonable for what you get unlike the highly overpriced Amber down the road.

Solid dependable place for grub. This place isn't my first choice of restaurants on Castro but when I'm craving Mexican, it helps.

Service here can be spotty at times; the salsa and chips and water don't really get refilled. I usually order the jalepeno serrano roast chicken which is juicy and delicious and Hubs goes to his default enchilada.

Nothing specifically to write home about; it serves decent food to satisfy a craving.
