When my husband gets a certain food embedded in the desire center of his brain, he will stop at nothing until that craving is satisfied. That said, the little place at the Tides was closed, and he wanted a chowder in a bread bowl. We had just had a day at the coast, he suggested we go to Fisherman's Warf. We had just passed The Boat House on the way over to the closed fore mentioned snack bar, so I suggested we try it. Score! It is a hole in the wall, full of locals, and passers by, cranking out the orders lickity- cut. We did get the bread bowls of chowder, and an order of scallops. The scallops were heavenly!!! The chowder wasn't the best, but it was home-made, not canned or pre-made like many restaurants serve. I have to give them extra props for the freshness factor, though it was a bit thin. This place is a hopping, friendly,place, the menu is pretty extensive, and they have microbrews a plenty to go with your fish and chips! I will be back for sure!

For the prices, you need not look anywhere else for good tasting Indian food.
The Naan is fresh and delicious, If you want it spicy, ask for spicy. They will add all the heat you want. The place is clean, and unpretentious. The service friendly, and spot on for a full table. I hate to see people get all snooty with Indian cuisine, this is really not at all Americanized, Indian food varies from region to region, some more bland than others, but blandness was not the case with any of our dishes. I especially loved their rice! I will make this one of my "go-to" places for Sunday after church!

Friday nights sometimes pose that familiar "where should we eat?" We usually tend to the familiar but this time we adventured in to Barndiva. The place was quiet, as it was early, but filled up as we ate. The food was fabulous, I had the fish, my husband had the beef. Both were presented beautifully, and the flavors were sublime. The only hitch we had was the waiter forgot to put in my order, so mu husband was finished before I got mine. The waiter made up for it though, comping a beverage, and dessert. The dessert was so delicious, a deconstructed pumpkin pie, served on a board...Fun and clever, we ate the whole thing, and I left feeling like I needed to "beach myself" I was so stuffed! You have to say hello to Senator O'Brian our waiter, he is new to the area from the East coast... What a nice guy!
I am writing about the banquet services at the restaurant. I have eaten off the lunch and dinner menu before, and was not blown away I have to say. However, at the prospect of doing a banquet with an Italian theme, I called on The Union Hotel among several others. They had the best banquet for the price. From the jump, they were attentive, helpful, never dropped a single stitch! I was so happy when all eighteen of the women in our party were impressed with the food, service, and the accommodations. If you are considering a banquet of 30 or so, this is a fabulous place at a fantastic price!!!
I am giving this place one star for good chips, and a star for friendly service. I had a burrito, which to me is a food item any Mexican food place can make without screwing up. The carnitas inside were tasty enough, but something was just off. I finally figured it out... the cheese was either American, or Velveeta. I ate half- that's all I will say.
I guess I can say this little Taqueria gets a good score mainly due to the friendly folks there, the great service, and authentic atmosphere. Oh... the beans are great too. I was slightly disappointed with the dry carnitas, the dry tortillas, and overall flavor of the enchilada sauce. I am truly a hard to please Mexican food critic- Mother in law used to be a stellar cook in the opinion of all who knew her, she taught me allot. So, some of you will like it more than my husband or I did, it's a matter of personal preference.
Should you decide to pop in at dinnertime for a bite, you can get a killer panini like we had, or have one of many items heated up. I noticed a really well stocked wine area, with great local wines at good prices. you must stop by... they even had a Cloverdale RABBIT skinned and ready to cook! Good variety? I'll say!

This High end grocery store is small, but packed with some of the most thoughtful foods, butcher counter offers beautiful grass fed beef, organic, free range poultry. You will find local fresh ingredients, local cheeses like Spring Hill, Cowgirl Creamery and Pugs Leap. Breads to die for from Bennet Valley, and to top it all off, the owners are chefs, who make wonderful meals you can eat there, or take home! Wow! Welcome to our neighborhood Green Grocer!

Don't do it, don't even think about it. The hubby thought it would be worth while with the promotion, but... YIKES! I don't think I have to go on to the details about the steak I only ate half of, thought I would save the tough little nasty thing for the dog. The wine was half decent though. Just steer clear, unless you like real bad food in bad surroundings

This is for the WINE Harvest Fair... 2008. If you are serious about checking out the varietals, new blends, and those who are behind their labels, this is an outstanding venue. We were introduced to some new wineries we had no idea how good they were until we went to the Harvest fair. It is a well spent afternoon, looking at the animals, checking out the goodies, scarecrows, honey, getting some BBQ Oysters... That is why I really go! Fun for all... The best overall wines were: White Oak, Spann Vineyards , & Mosaic. Good finds for sure! Worthy of wine club: Spann Vineyards, if only for their Chard/ Viognier blend OH MY GOSH!!!

We used to be able to get seated fairly fast, but it seems our local favorite is under siege by folks who love to eat well. Tomi is operated by a family I am guessing, as the people are all related somehow. The servers are so friendly and helpful in assisting with flavor profiles. The food is excellent! It is one of those places you want to bring people to because you want to share the joy of this discovery. But... don't bring a large group, it is TINY, and you will have to squeeze.
Overall, I would give a five star rating, however , the service can be a bit slow..but well worth the wait!!!
