Bayberry Yogurt & Gelato
Category: Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt
I tried their bayberry yogurt which was on the somewhat creamy part, not too icy and perfectly tart. The serving size was also pretty nice.
Others fell in love with their flavor of the day- birthday cake- they said it tasted exactly like a cake in a yogurt form.
The owner said they will be changing into a self serve yogurt place-- should be self serve now. Next time when we're on our way home from Tahoe, we'll be sure to come by and check this place out again.
They also serve gelato.
We ordered their panang curry beef- there was plenty of beef and the sauce was good. No complaints here.
I got their spicy eggplant cooked in garlic, thai basil and chili sauce- the sauce wasn't as spicy as I hoped, but everything else was cooked nicely.
Everyone else around the table seemed to enjoy their dishes.
Service was friendly and quick. Everything was prepared when ordered.

Jersey Joe's Hoagies & Cheesesteaks
Categories: Sandwiches, Burgers
We ordered the pepper steak , hot, cheesesteak- very juicy with plenty of meat. I'm not complaining about flavor nor lack of meat, just don't know if I would drive all the way over here just for it.
Jersey Style burger- grilled onions and extra cheese, protein style (no buns)- meat was tasty, wasn't dry, plenty of onions on top of the meat, along with the cheese. It was served on a bed of lettuce rather than wrapped in lettuce, so it was more like a beef patty salad. Wasn't bad.
Buffalo wings- made fresh, plenty of hot sauce, the sauce was a little on the salty side. For the price you pay for the wings, you sure do get a lot more then I thought I would. Normal, nothing special.
Overall, service counter was friendly, place gets pretty packed during lunch rush. When I'm around and hungry for some meat, I'll be sure to stop by once again.
Other sure seem to enjoy the burgers with no hesitation. The place was packed with limited seating, but yes we got our seats right away!
Everything tasted pretty much normal on my end, even without the buns.
The prices were decent, so I can tell why so many people come here late night after partying.

I won't say I won't come back, but next time I'll be sure to explore a tad bit more... The bathrooms were clean!
We started off with their Tuna & Salmon Tartar with Guacamole & Chip- I really thought I was going to get guacamole with it, but it was avocado chunks in the tar tar mix- this was ok, thought it has been marinated a bit too long since the fish came out looking a bit on the tint side. Probably the same taste if you ordered their poke.
Sashimi Combo- 12 pieces- 3 tuna, 3 hamachi, 3 yellow tail and 3 salmon- all the fishes were ok, but the hamachi had no flavor at all, it just had a water taste. I also thought the fish was too cold to serve. I know, it's a good thing they refrigerate the fishes, but it was on a little to high. At least there was no fish smell.
Dynamite Roll- Spicy Tuna, Shrimp, cream cheese & Mango- fried and pretty good. I think this is what's the roll was called, but my bf sure enjoyed this one.
Spicy tuna roll- nothing special.
Overall, the service was very friendly, just one server, probably the owner, never had to ask for a refill once on the hot tea and water, super plus in my book. I'll probably come back when I crave for sushi while in South City, just maybe.
We started with their
hot and sour soup, which was pretty good, had plenty of bites in there.
Hunan Chicken- fried boneless chicken breast in hot spicy Hunan sauce, white meat, like tenders, covered in their hunan sauce. The sauce wasn't spicy as I thought it would be, kind of more on the sweet side.
Vanilla Prawns- fried Prawns with cashew nuts in sweet mayonnaise sauce, the shrimp were prawns, they were small shrimps covered with a thick layer of batter, fried. I peeled the outer layer and comes out the small shrimp. The mayo was ok, I really enjoy eating honey walnuts with prawns, the sauce here was similar but just wasn't the same without the shrimp cooked the way it normally comes.
Beef with Broccoli- the meat was tender and the broccoli was cooked nicely, but the problem was it had the same sauce as the hunan chicken we ordered. I think there was zucchini in this dish too.
Black mushrooms with cabbage- the mushrooms were nice but it had the same brown sauce, the hunan sauce.
Vegetable chow mein- cabbage, baby corn, bean sprouts- this was just plain. There was no real flavor.
Overall, the service was great, the staff was friendly. The dishes on the other hand, 3 of the 6 we got, had the same "brown" sauce, most likely the hunan sauce. The only reason why the other dishes didn't have it was because it was soup, mayo base and chow mein. So maybe I need to order dishes that I know won't come out with all the same sauce.
This place not only just has yogurt ice cream and toppings, but they make smoothies, yogurt with fruits and fruit cups.
Only been here once, so I'm not sure how the deal works, but we ordered a regular, got to choose two fruits to mix in our yogurt. We got mango and strawberry and pomegranate topping. Yum.
The worker, by hand, has to rinse down the machine with water, then press the yogurt in the machine, then press the frozen fruits in to mix it all up. A few minutes later, you have freshly pressed, mix fruits into your plain white yogurt. Top it off with your favorite toppings for their fix priced, no weighing.
Just the experience itself was fun to watch. Will be back to try some other fruity mixture.
Date
We made reservations, so when we walked in, we were seated immediately. This was on a Friday night, place was pretty much packed. Our server came to greet us, but she ended up disappearing for about 30 minutes before she came back to explain the menu. Minus points for that kind of service for such an "high end" place. I didn't catch her name either. She also had the worse memory a server can have, she couldn't get her tables right while making conversations with us, also mixing us up with others.
We started off with their Hamachi Shots- truffled ponzu sauce, chili, avocado, frizzled ginger, cilantro greens- these were very tasty, the ponzu sauce can be over whelming with a vinegar taste if you take the whole shot at one time. The fish however was very fresh tasting and just melts in your mouth. Worth a try.
Mushroom and oxtail soup- wild mushrooms, gruyere cheese crisp, herbs- there was plenty of mushrooms in this dish and all had great flavors. This was more of a cream of mushroom soup taste than an oxtail soup. There was a piece of meat centered, which was fall off the bone like, with the gruyere cheese crisp capped over on top of the meat. Over all, if your not a cream of mushroom fan, than this dish isn't for you, not much oxtail tasting or meat in this soup. Worth a try.
I got the wet aged strip steak with kimchi butter- just your average piece of meat, came pre-sliced, a little tough, with kimchi on top. This was an ok dish.
BF ordered the prime rib which was perfectly cooked. Very good.
In between we had small dishes given to us to cleanse our palette. Those were a nice touch.
Of course, we were given the infamous cotton candy at the end of our meal, watermelon was the flavor.
Also we were given 2 bags of mini cookies to take home with us, those were nice and chewy, but just plain. They went really easy on the sugar on those cookies.
Over all, I was hoping for better service, probably would've made my experience a little better rather than waiting 30 minutes before we saw our server again. Don't get me wrong, we pulled another guy aside and he ordered our drinks, but didn't take our order because we already had a server. I think he should have pushed our server over or just took our order.
