I honestly wish I could have put a 6th star - no kidding!!
It was time to graduate my business cards from the "do it yourself" Avery ones, to professional ones. So of course first stop - http://Yelp.com
I was after very professional business cards, not like some other printers that will just print from a file you send over. Called around and David responded. Too, he took my design and came up with two other options from what I had done.
Very professional, understood what I was looking for, and knew what he was talking about. I had a need for quick turnaround, which he handled with ease!

A-1 Garage Door Service

I went to my garage on a late Friday afternoon, and my garage door opener would not open. I noticed one of the roller springs was snapped, which made opening the door (even manually). I called my "go to place" for repair and got voicemail. So I checked Yelp. I read all the 5 star reviews and thought - I have to call this guy!
I got Frank, and he was out on a job. He asked what was wrong, if it was an emergency, etc. Then agreed to come out that night!
Frank arrived, took a look, gave me a quote ($250 for two galvanized springs (I live near the beach and anything less would rust)) and got to work. He knocked it out in less than an hour, including having to grind the shaft I had.
I ***HIGHLY*** recommend A1 for your garage needs!!

We went for New Years Eve, and thoroughly enjoyed our dinners. This time we had Oysters to start, Scallops on skewers, Salmon, etc.
We have also done breakfast as well since my last review. Fantastic!

OK, so I have to admit. I love finding a restaurant that is starting out, finding its way, and making great things happen. Fishbar continues to be just that.
Got back this week, and found the interior upgraded further (the old huge circular bench seat is gone), and the walls continue to be decorated. The TVs are still there, which is actually a good touch.
Food is getting better, and better! This time had more entree/apps, etc. and enjoyed them all. Prices are fantastic, and you cannot believe how great it is.
An older crowd is making its way there, and that makes for a better atmosphere to me. Not the rowdy 20-something of days past there. -

WOW! What an upgrade from Sharkeez! Finally got a chance to go to FishBar and check it out.
Talking to FishBar employees, they are still in a soft opening, but they are doing great even now. Sharkeez used to have a good layout, and they kept the basics. But swapped out the floor surface, cushions in the booths (at least up front), etc. They also repainted the exterior, lettting us locals know the property changed hands. The TVs are still all over the interior, very similar to the previous Sharkeez.
The food was excellent, and cooked by the previous chef of Critters Hermosa Beach (from Monday night dinners).
Interesting offerings for Breakfast (weekends), Lunch and Dinner.
Once again - Carina does not fail to deliver. Today we tasted Viognier (down to the last 2.5 cases - bought three), tasty Cabernet Savignon, Iconoclast (blend they do there), and a few others.
Another nice touch - they are EXTREMELY dog friendly and gave our Higgins a great chicken strip!!

Friday start of Wine Weekend in Los Olivos
We wandered into Carina as we are quite fond of it. Shawn was there behind the tasting bar and did a great job of describing the wines, telling jokes and being highly entertaining.
We ended up joining the wine club again, and getting our shipment to go. -

Went with our friends again for the wine festival weekend. Hit it on Friday.

We discovered the Carina Cellars on our recent trip to Santa Ynez Valley. We saw the ad in a map, which had a nice description of it.
Finding it was a bit of a trick. The address 2900 is right on the Southeast corner of Alamo Pintado and Grand Ave. There is a general store there. Next to it, a sandwich shop. Carina is next to it.
The shop is great. Old wood, with a great bar area. The people are fantastic, which always helps the appeal. But the wines are amazing!
We ended up joining the club, and got two bottles of the Viognier there. The Viognier actually reminds me of the Andrew Murray Estate Viognier from a few years ago - and a lot less expensive. There are a number of other great wines there too.
In the same tasting room, the wine maker is also there with his own brand of wines - Tensley. Quite good as well.
We ordered Avila Benedict (tremendous) and the Bacon and Avocado omelet. Both were tremendous.
They are also Dog Friendly as well!!

The staff was very friendly, and even brought out our tastings outside. (we brought our dog, and was barking some at some kids playing (why do people bring their kids?)).
The location and tasting room were both fantastic! There is also a bocci ball court there as well.

The tasting room is actually in a large room that also has the barrels and tanks as well. Very well decorated as well.
We were greeted by Cindy, our server at the bar. Cindy was tremendous! Huge smile, very energetic.
We checked out the menu, and we were considering apps with the "crab chowder and salad" or "crab bisque and salad". We asked Cindy which we should order and she had a great answer - "the crab bisque - you can get chowder anywhere!" So we ordered. We also ordered the Steamed Clams and Calamari.
The Crab Bisque was fantastic! The Steamed Mussels as well (with a great broth you could use to dunk the bread - great idea Cindy!!). The Calamari was fantastic as well - more thick strips calamari steak which were battered. The salads were also fantastic, and very fresh. The bread was also a treat.
They also have a great selection of the local SLO wines. While they do not "do tastes" (as someone mentioned here), if you were out tasting for the day you probably already did! We did order a glass of wine from a winery we did not make that day.
The entire staff there was great. Very friendly, and helpful. And Cindy ... thanks for your help!!
This is the Jockos of Seafood! We understand why it is so popular.
