I love this place. Leah's been cutting my hair about once a month for the past three+ years. I just keep following her around. :) She truly works magic. I say, "I'd kinda like it shorter, and fun," and then she figures out what I mean and makes it happen. Only, what she comes up with is always better than what I imagined. She also did my hair for my wedding day. I still get remarks about how beautiful it was... and it was all Leah's doing. Go visit her today!

I always try to visit vegan friendly restaurants whenever I travel. I just never think about it when visiting home, because how much really changes? But over the holidays, my husband and I were in town to catch up with family and friends, and wanted to try a vegetarian place we hadn't already been to 100 times before. Apparently, sometime since college, The Remedy Diner appeared on the scene. Yay! We started with the vegan chicken wings, I had the vegan reuben, and John and the vegan meatball sub. All three were outstanding. We'll definitely be taking advantage of this place on future visits. It meets the high standards set by the vegan friendly places I've tried out in much larger cities.
I'm also excited that we'll be able to take along my meat eating family as well. They're as likely as us to find something that they'll really enjoy, as there's plenty of "regular" food on the menu, too. Be prepared for a wait while they make your food, but know that the service will be friendly and helpful.

When visiting Santa Fe for a friend's wedding, we spent some time just walking around downtown. I was interested in a snack, and John in caffeine, and we're both fans of books, so this place was just what we needed. It's been a while since I've made it to a local bookshop, and this one fit the bill. The walls were lined with lots of unusual titles that you might not find at typical big box bookstores. The food and beverages were nice as well. We were able to eat at a table out back.
This place is amazing. I wasn't expecting to find a good vegan meal while in Salt Lake City, but instead had two. I liked this place enough to go back a second time in my short visit. The first time I was very hungry, so I got a tea, appetizer, main course, and dessert. The second time I went with the chef's special. Fantastic food, funky setting, lovely wait staff: I will certainly include this place on any trip I make to Salt Lake City in the future. Hopefully, on that trip, I'll have a brunch there as well!

This place was lovely! We went for brunch, and once we were there we realized that it was a vegetarian restaurant that makes use of primarily local foods. The menu changes regularly, but as the waitress told us, they were probably the most adaptable restaurant in Santa Fe. We looked at the brunch options and were trying to figure out which would work for our vegan diet. She said we could sub out most anything. When we weren't sure where to go with that, we said maybe the breakfast burrito with tempeh instead of eggs. She agreed, and then suggested adding a few other things to fill it out. We ended up with that and granola in rice milk.
The breakfast burrito was amazing. And the tempeh was some of the best I've ever tasted. The granola was great, and came with fresh raspberries and apple cubes. The setting was very enjoyable; we sat next to a window.
I highly recommend Tree House Pastry Shop and Cafe. Nice people, great food, and vegan friendly. What more could you ask for?

This was our first meal for this trip to New Mexico. We went because a Yelp review mentioned it worked for vegans. (Thanks, Yelp reviewer!) And it really was good.
We had a large meal for a reasonable price, and though we modified a vegetarian meal to make it vegan, the waiter was happy to work with us. When he accidentally brought out tacos with cheese on them, he gladly replaced them when he realized we couldn't eat them.
Great food, good price, lovely patio... (though, watch out for bees and the birds in the trees!) I hope to eat there again sometime!

Looking for a fancy meal, with several vegan options, we ended up at Ruan Thai. Both meals were artfully prepared, included tasty variations on the preparations that we're used to, and were delicious.
We were really excited to go to the Firefly Cafe as we were looking forward to a vegan meal. We went with family with more traditional diets, and all four of us had excellent meals. Great food. It was all pretty simple in terms of ingredients and preparation. The portions were really large, and we felt good about the food for the (somewhat higher than we were expecting) price.
The waiter was friendly and helpful, and knew what we were asking for without our having to explain things in great detail. The atmosphere is cute and cozy. I really recommend this place!

I've been here both times I've been to Savannah, and I'm sure I'll go back next time I'm in town. The atmosphere is a nice mix of fancy and fun, and I can't resist a tea room.
This time we just got a pot of tea (which they said was okay to do). We had quite a wait, but when the tea came, it was very good. The tea in the pot was in a commercial bag, and based on the waiter's comment that they don't sell loose tea and that the tea for sale was Harney and Sons, I assume that's the brand of tea they're brewing as well. I didn't ask the waiter... he seemed to know more about the food than the tea.
If you're a big tea fan, it's worth visiting, though I'd go in with moderate expectations.

Then we went back with some friends the other day.
The menu had changed a lot. There was literally no entree on the menu we could have. We could have a modified salad or (I think) one of the appetizers. We asked if there was any vegan option the chef could come up for (we'd pay whatever for it) and they couldn't think of anything. We asked if they still let people get burritos for dinner and they said we couldn't. So, we had salads and then went to Mooney's just down the street, where we had a lovely dinner of falafel and hummus.
Two stars because the burrito option still exists for lunch. But overall, I'm disappointed that instead of becoming more vegan friendly with time, they became less so.
