There is no other place you should be ordering wings from in the Pioneer Valley with the possible exception of the OTHER Wings Over... location inside the Hangar in Amherst.
Their wings are boneless and ENORMOUS, and they are available in a mind-boggling array of flavors. I enjoy the Honey BBQ, the Honey Mustard, the Cajun, the Jerk and a few other flavors. But if you prefer your wings with the traditional Buffalo sauce they have that covered too, in a variety of strengths.
Their burgers and fries are solid as well, and compliment the wings perfectly. I often order a cheeseburger and a large fries to go with the huge tub of wings I'm sharing with friends or family.
I've been eating in this building for decades (since the '80s when there was a Burger King at the location) so unlike the other reviewer I don't see a problem with the amount of in-store seating they have available if you want to dine-in. In fact, they've recently renovated the place and made it bit more "swanky" for folks who plan to "eat in."
I grew up eating pizza cooked in this building. For years, the restaurant on the corner of Dickinson and Oakland provided my family with pizza, grinders and other delightful dishes. I'm sure the place changed owners a few times over those decades. And there was a period of time during the last owner's tenure where I wouldn't eat here due to an incident that I won't elaborate on here.
The truth of the matter is that any feelings I may have had about the previous iterations of "Family Pizza" are irrelevant now though. This is due to the fact that they've been under new management for a hot minute now and are a completely different restaurant than any of the many I'd done business with at this location before. This, it turns out, is a really, REALLY good thing.
After eating there a few times recently I'm happy to report that the all new Felix's Family Ristorante may in fact be my favorite restaurant in the Forest Park neighborhood and it's DEFINITELY my favorite of the handful of Italian eateries in the city of Springfield. This is saying a lot because there's another nearby Italian spot that really impressed me with their fare, but for the quality, and the money, I'm now inclined to prefer Felix's Family Ristorante over them.
So far their appetizers, pasta, chicken, grinders and pizza have all been sampled and all have been solid-to-impressive in quality. Their hand-made fried mozzarella in marinara sauce is heavenly. Their pasta alfredo, paired with an order of their crispy, juicy chicken fingers for a makeshift chicken alfredo is pure gooey, cheesy, crunchy, poultry-y goodness. Their pizza is fluffy but hearty and loaded with melty cheese and fragrant toppings. And their cheeseburger sub -- which actually tastes like meat and is imbued with the smokey flavor of flame broiling or char-grilling -- and steak bomb sub -- loaded with tons of shaved steak and aromatic veggies, also smokily grilled -- are nothing short of the best subs I've ever eaten in my life!
As of yet I haven't enjoyed sit-down dinner service at the Family Ristorante, only take-out service from the window. But the people who work here are all incredibly friendly and really do help create a family atmosphere that makes you want to sit down and eat. Oh, and the last time I went in to place an order on a Friday night they had an amazing guitar/accordion duo walking around playing and singing Italian folk songs and standards in the dining room. These guys were awesome and, despite the crowd, made me wish I was eating in the dining room.
Whether you're feeding your family, or just your face, Felix's Family Ristorante is the place to do it in the Forest Park neighborhood.

Since then much time has passed. The place, though it still offers the "super slice," has apparently changed ownership and management. They've made minor changes to the outside of the building and I've even seen a few commercial on local TV touting their fare. That all being the case, I thought I'd give an old favorite a try a few days ago when I had a hankering for pizza but wanted something "different" than what I get from my usual haunts.
Before ordering I mentioned to a friend from the neighborhood that I was going to give Nucci's a shot. His response was to shake his head and say "bad news bears." In hindsight I should have heeded his warning as the pie that the "new" Nucci's delivered to my house proved to be pretty damn terrible. It wasn't quite as egregious as the pie that had originally earned Nucci's a spot on my blacklist. But it was bland and tasteless, things I don't want from my pizza.
Sorry Nucci's, you're still on my "list."
