Naked Chocolate Cafe

Simply irresistible, for lack of a better adjective!  Naked Chocolate is a chocoholic's heaven, offering everything from truffles to cakes to custom blended hot chocolates!  For those who are not so into chocolate (seeing as it is basically the point of this place--but then again you may find yourself coming with friends whose tastes are either not quite the same as yours or are just not in the mood for chocolate at that particular time, which I don't see why one wouldn't be in the mood for chocolate ;)), they also have apple lemonade, apple cider, as well as the amazing pumpkin mousse that I got  the first time I was there.  However, I think that's only a seasonal thing so be sure to stop in sometime this month to try it :)

In general, I love Chinese food.  Honestly, I could live on it, but that probably isn't so good for my health.  Anyway, came here for dinner one Saturday while on break from work and I have to say, it really did hit the spot.  The prices threw me off a little at first but it seems like their portions are big enough for people to share.  Either way, the food was well worth it and so was the service.

The Noshery is the only place I've ever been to that offers "create-your-own" sushi, and I LOVE it!  They also offer a wide variety of salads, sandwiches, wraps, and other things so it's great even for people who are coming with friends or others who have different tastes.  The best part? It's very well priced!

The food is somewhat decent and very affordable, but it usually gets VERY crowded, especially around lunchtime.  It also doesn't help much that the counter dude is a bit pushy, but regardless, it works when I happen to have finished a class and am craving chinese food and don't feel like getting delivery from China House.

Richie's Deli & Pizza

Richie's ROCKS!  I go there multiple times per week and every single time I've been pleased with both the food and the service.  Richie's selection is so big, I could live off what he has to offer!  Love my egg and cheese sandwiches in the morning before class and the occasional chicken pizza wrap if I'm craving one for lunch or dinner.  Richie has a personality worthy of being on his own TV show and a friend of mine even said he could sit there all day watching Richie do his thing.  He is known across Temple's campus for memorizing customers' names and orders and that's what makes his service all the more special.  The food only makes it that much better :)   Not only that, it's affordable!  Be forewarned though, it does get crowded in the mornings when most people are getting coffee and breakfast before class and during the lunch hour, but that's a good sign, isn't it?

 Update - 9/6/2009
I visited Lush yesterday in search of some skin care products that would potentially help my acne-ridden, dry, absolutely annoyingly problematic skin, and I have to say, the experience was wonderful!  Everyone who works there is very knowledgeable and willing to help.  I left having purchased a bar of face soap, a toner, a moisturizer, lip balm, face mask, Karma Powder (whatever that is--it looked cool, and I got it for free after having spent $45+!  That was only a one-time promotion though...) and various samples of other products.  They are also interested in the long term effects of the products and encourage customers to come back in and let them know how things are working.       There are so many other amazing products there that I will definitely have to try them all some day!

I LOVE this place! Haven't bought anything from here yet but the employees are so nice and accommodating and some friends and I got free hand treatments and a free bar of one of their new soaps during a promotion they were having.  I am all for organic and natural skin care and cosmetics so I will DEFINITELY be back!

Up until yesterday, I hadn't used MAC Cosmetics in about 7 years, partially because of my budget, but lately, because of some skin problems I've been having, I was willing to invest in some good quality makeup, even though I had tried BareMinerals (at my mom's insistance) and I wasn't a big fan of it after using it for about 2 years.  However, I came by this MAC store after visiting Lush for some vegan skin care products to deal with my problem skin, and I was instantly greeted by a very friendly associate who sat me down and tried out some products on me.   I purchased a few products (a concealer and a liquid foundation) and was informed that if customers return empty containers,  they can receive a free product in exchange!  I will DEFINITELY be back!

Jade Court Restaurant

Since Jade Court is located right across the street from the Crossroads, I thought this would be a nice, convenient place to grab a bite before I went to play a show.  However, it was very quiet, and when I was there, I was the only customer eating in--clearly the majority of their business is take-out.  There was only one waitress in the entire place and there were times when she'd disappear into the back kitchen for quite some time and wouldn't be manning the front counter if someone had come in to pick up an order and was standing there waiting around.  Regardless of that, the food was okay.  Not great, but okay.  I'd come back again before another show at the Crossroads  but would much rather come with more people.

Fast, free delivery and great food, yet very reasonably priced (what more could you want from a Chinese restaurant right smack dab on Temple's campus?)!  I've never actually been to the place itself but have had food delivered a few times.  My favorites are the pizza rolls and the General Tso's tofu.

I went to Govinda's for the first time today and I think I found a new favorite place to eat!  I am neither vegan nor vegetarian but I do like fake meat.  After scanning the menu, I went with the "chicken" quesadilla and it really hit the spot.  As mentioned in one of the other reviews, there is another side for sit-down fine dining which is fancier.  Unfortunately that side was empty even though it looked like it had the potential of having a nice ambiance.  Personally I prefer the punk rock vibe of Gianna's....besides Gianna's has a bigger menu, but Govinda's is good for those days when I  don't feel like walking 8 blocks from the subway station to Gianna's.
