Cheers to Outwrite for serving a niche demographic with favorable levels of disposable income.

With that said, I hope Outwrite does not succumb to the fate of independent bookstores.  The selection of titles was okay, but Amazon wins in both the depth and price categories.  On the other hand, Amazon can't deliver a cute guy to talk to over coffee in this corner teeming with energy.

This complex could easily be named Rainbow Forest for all the HRC stickers and rainbow flags that dot the parking lot and balconies.  Just log on to Grindr and see how many hits are within hundreds of feet of you.

The apartments are not new so you won't find granite countertops and luxe finishes, but there is sufficient square footage to be comfortable.

One aspect that was disconcerting was the number of cars with body damage.  I'm not talking about a ding from someone flinging their door open with excessive force.  I saw bumpers missing, severe damage to quarter panels and what I can only describe as dents and scratches from sideswiping an inanimate object.  I don't know if it's indicative of these tenants' poor driving, Atlanta driving or a combination of the two, but the parking lot seemed like a staging area for bumper cars.

I am a Publix loyalist since I was born and raised in the red-state-turned-blue-state that begat that supermarket; however, Kroger offers a different experience and I make it a point to visit one when I can.

This particular location was bright and open with friendly staff, even late at night.  Something seemed off about it, though.  It felt slightly worn or dingy, but not dirty.  The product mix was sufficient and varied enough to introduce me to brands not available in Florida.

And, really...with the number of good looking guys walking around, Kroger is also a place where shopping is a pleasure.

This is the Costco (or maybe IKEA) of all stores that sell alcohol.  Came here within minutes of closing, picked up a few bottles and completed the transaction with seconds to spare.

Huge bonus is that prices are lower than what I have seen in Florida, excepting the Naval bases.

Urban settings need public spaces and Piedmont Park fills that need.  Piedmont Park gives Audobon Park a run for its money, though it falls behind Central Park and Boston Common.

This time I put on my trail runners, headed east on 14th and began my run.  I appreciated the scenery and changes in elevation that Florida lacks.

Since we all know truck/rest stops and public parks are the only places where gay men can meet each other, I was happy that a cute guy began running with me and took me to his favorite parts of the park.  Taking a breather to sit and take in the Midtown skyline standing tall behind the trees was wonderful, especially with my new friend who I initially thought was a stalker.

My friend labeled me fresh meat even though I'm the exact opposite of a twink, so imagine how I felt when I was greeted by man after man wanting sexytime.  Lots of it.  Just stick it in already.

Underneath the Southern warmth, there's a little bit of Bostonian snobbery in this town, but the flirting, laughter and stupor-inducing drinks made it a worthwhile walk.  And as David K stated, there was no need to walk back to my hotel since volunteers abounded to drive me back.

I am baffled by so many people who think I am some low-rent citizen for insisting on riding MARTA.  I've waited for trains in NYC and Boston longer than 20 minutes and when they came, it was often Sardine City, standing room only with your body parts smushing into 10 of your newest closest friends.  Of all the times I have ridden MARTA, no more than half the time did I need to stand and never has it been so packed that I felt compelled to place my wallet in my front pocket.

My last stay in Atlanta resulted in me driving no more than 10 times.  The rest of the time I would walk the 10-15 minutes to either the Midtown or Arts Center stations and then, at most, another 20 minutes to get to my destination.  It beats losing my prime parking spot along 13th or having to pay again since I couldn't find a garage with in/out privileges.  Then there's the issue of traffic and, once reaching your destination, the always fun task of finding parking and paying.

No, thanks.

With my iPhone, Breeze card and two legs, it's MARTA (almost) all the way.

Having worked with recruiters in the Jacksonville office, I was curious to see what the Atlanta IT sphere had to offer.  With Georgia Tech just a few blocks away, I would imagine this prime location would be ripe for opportunities to help me further my career.  One of my recruiters in Jacksonville set up a meeting the next day with Felton, who was professional, thorough and personable.

Since I already had worked a job with TEK, Felton went straight into the vetting process.  He advised me of the condition of the job market and provided his opinion on the strength of my candidacy.  No less than a week passed when he called me to submit me for a super awesome position.

Despite hearing how deplorable the job market is in Atlanta, I don't think you would go wrong meeting with TEK and putting forth the effort to convey your career goals while substantiating your achievements.  Once you establish yourself as a viable candidate, Felton and the rest of TEK will do the legwork to match you to what you want--not their sales goals.

I came here solely for poker nights and met a few friends along the way.  I am happy to have walked from here to the Murder Kroger and back multiple times and I am still alive to write a review.

There's nothing special physically about the bar.  You walk in, the bar sits in the middle of the space, barstools and tables are situated throughout.  There's a digital jukebox, a pool table and an ATM.  The restroom also offers minimal privacy, so that may be good or bad depending on your level of friskiness/curiosity.

The drinks were reasonably priced and seem to progressively get stronger each time I ordered.  The bartender is great as he gave me hell for paying for some diva songs on the jukebox.  As I apologized for apparently intruding on his monopoly of what people listen to, he let out raucous fits of laughter and told me he knew I wasn't "from these parts."  When I told him I was from Jacksonville, he apologized.

Even had I not come with friends for poker, the other customers were friendly enough to be chatty and show this Florida Orange some Georgia Peach hospitality.

I came to visit my husband-to-be now that he owns a lovely condo here.  The space is inviting, not at all sterile, and the pulse of the development just right.  The owner/tenant mix seemed to be cohesive, but I don't live there (yet) so others may disagree.

The condo is beautiful and the views definitely worth the premium.  Its location allowed me to hoof it to any place I needed to go within 20 minutes.  Extra points for easy access to MARTA, retail and restaurants.
